It has been a long time since your 'Kingslayer' reaction. Welcome to the original and unique world of BABYMETAL ... they don't follow the same conventions as other bands. There is no other band quite like them. They do things their own way and they also refuse to be pigeonholed or stuck into any one box.
They have about 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre (thrash, djent, death, black, Prog, folk, power/speed etc), but they will also mix or blend so many other musical styles and genres with the metal (pop, EDM, Bollywood, ska, Latin, Finnish polka, reggae, Arabian psy-trance, hip hop, rap, dub step and more) usually when you least expect it.
They are also one of the very best live bands on the planet right now. The official videos are all very good and worth seeing of course, but they are a live performance act, that is where you will always see - and hear - them at their very best.
'Karate' was the lead single for their second album (2016), so it is one of their more "radio friendly" songs.
It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this because as a Japanese martial art it reflects their culture - as with a lot of their songs it is also about always moving forwards.
In the video the figures in white were the girls all along and they were conjuring up their own inner demons to fight against. They beat the first, the second knocked them down but they got up to eventually defeat themselves (did you notice the reflections of each of the girls in their own eyes when the masks shattered and it was revealed as them? Not many people spot that).
They did watch a lot of martial arts movies to get ideas for the choreo as they wanted it to look as authentic as possible (but they are not martial artists). Moa catching the fly was a nod to Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi may have used chop sticks (and it may have taken him two or three films before he caught one), Moa caught her fly with her eyes closed - first time.
This song and video won 2 awards. "Best Metal Video in MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2016" and "Best Metal Song in 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards".
There is a very good live performance of 'Karate' from Download 2016 where they performed in the English rain with a soaking wet crowd all singing and dancing along with them.
For something a bit more recent try 'Divine Attack', 'Mirror Mirror' or 'Monochrome' - any of them live at the PIA Arena 2023 or perhaps the song that best represents who and what they are, another song older than 'Karate' is 'Megitsune' ... again the live at PIA Arena is an excellent example.

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥
Glad to see you got this suggestion, you're about to get in a wild journey and probably you don't wanna miss the chance to see them live like many reactors already did with the World Tour 2023/2024 and more is coming this year such Download Festival. Last month they played at Sick New World in Las Vegas and before that they were in San Francisco as part of the Babyklok Tour along with Dethklok. Funny you got that Slipknot flag behind, probably you already know they were at Sick New World too and the girls enjoyed the show and also did a short interview talking about them and looking for a new collab, they support BM since early era when the girls were more young along with many more artists and legendary bands such Metallica, Rob Zombie, Korn, Rob Haldford, Marty Friedman, RHCP, and more. Trust me, you won't see a band or group like them around, they're the reason after 2010 the Japanese metal and rock scene got the chance to break boundaries and you can meet all those female bands you have mentioned and more, there was a before and after.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
    About this song:
"Karate" is one of their stronger weapons along with "Road Of Resistance" from 2nd album "Metal Resistance" released in 2016. It's an uplifting song about keep fighting besides the obstacles, and if you take a closer look at the end you'll see in the eyes of their rivals that they're fighting against no other than themselves.
Some fans also find anime vibes on BabyMetal songs, the only other song I could find with anime vibes besides this one and "Divine Attack - Shingeki", is "Syncopation" another banger.
They watched several footage before making this song, one of those were "Karate Kid" old movie, that's why you see MoaMetal catching a bug, that's a reference to the movie, after this she become the bug catcher expert when traveling on live tour lol. The bats and the concrete blocks testing strength is another infamous Karate reference.
Btw just in case, the band playing behind in this MV are hired actors, they got their own set of musicians when performing live called Kami Band, they're not always the same musicians but currently this year they've been playing with a westerners band unlike early era after 2012 when they had a Japanese band.
You can enjoy the live version with the blaster sound of the Kami Band watching Download Festival 2016 among many others but this one is safe to react.
    Next suggestion:
    - Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997 (2013).
I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get more original clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it.
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
      ua-cam.com/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/v-deo.html
      - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
      ua-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/v-deo.html
      - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
      ua-cam.com/video/dU38CYkpBvI/v-deo.html
      - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
      ua-cam.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/v-deo.html
      - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
      ua-cam.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/v-deo.html
      - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
      ua-cam.com/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/v-deo.html
      - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
      ua-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/v-deo.html
      - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
      ua-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/v-deo.html
      - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
      ua-cam.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/v-deo.html
      - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
      ua-cam.com/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/v-deo.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
      ua-cam.com/video/ESzY9dL613Q/v-deo.html
      - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
      ua-cam.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/v-deo.html
      - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
      ua-cam.com/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/v-deo.html
      - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
      ua-cam.com/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/v-deo.html
      - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
      ua-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/v-deo.htmlsi=BsVOSExS25Qndy1H
      - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
      ua-cam.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/v-deo.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
      - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.
      ua-cam.com/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/v-deo.html
This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.
      ua-cam.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/v-deo.html
And here's a BM guide (the long one).
      ua-cam.com/video/aIb2xEthdSg/v-deo.htmlsi=EnEYU4nN3tuiY3WL
There's a beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until last year unlike the other one with full updates till this year.

Nice reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL.
"Karate" is definitely on their "poppier" side, even structurally... BUT but that main riff comes out from nowhere and hits you like a bus.
They are very diverse musically since they don't hesitate on mixing any music genre with metal. So always expect the unexpected. 😁
    Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey!

The girls would have been about age 15/16 in this MV. The song is about never giving up and pushing foward no matter the difficulties of life. It's a very positive song. If you notice in the MV the girls are battling the dark side of themselves. Su-metals vocals shatter the armor of the of their dopplegangers. The Megitsune, Headbanger, and Iine MVs are worth a watch. Iine (iine) is a fan favorite because of... (you will have to watch it to find out) Live is always better but these 3 are MVs are worth a watch for some classic Babymetal.

The song is about a battle against oneself, as you can see in the music video when the mask breaks and the girls appear.
BM is more appreciated for their live performance than their music video, so I recommend you to see Karate UK Download Fest 2016 in the rain.

Well, you’ve opened a can of worms!
I recommend that you go back and see where they've been before delving into where they are - a lot has changed for them in fourteen years. Anyway . . . .
BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around since 2010, and started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the group in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer.
BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art (as you have seen). I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of these recommended songs (along with suggested versions). The first sixteen are from what I've come to call "The Golden Age of BABYMETAL" or simply "The Yui Era":

You can use my UA-cam playlist “BABYMETAL Top Twenty” (ua-cam.com/play/PLdhz2aj0pt4zPl0BZLevPUR9uHKQA27uj.html ) as a quick link to all of these videos; it is a mix of MV’s and live performances, is more or less in historical sequence, and could be considered a road map down the BABYMETAL foxhole. If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . .
Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014). There are playlists for both on the HEAD123456 UA-cam channel. Both concerts are, in a word, incredible.
Regarding captions/subtitles: to the best of my knowledge, none of BABYMETAL's music videos have them, and they very rarely sing in anything other than Japanese. If I may, I suggest that prior to you reacting to their videos (MV's or live), look up the lyrics first - if that is something that's important to you.
Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!)
Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!)

People will say, live is better, but I personally like this MV. As a non Japanese speaking person ther video allows me to understand what is happening. I understand it's about overcoming obstacles and if you get knocked down you have to get back up and keep fighting. And that sometimes your biggest obstacle is yourself. If I saw this live it would just appear to be them fighting.

    Welcome to Foxhole!!
We are here to help with any questions if needed. If you'd like to check out a more recent work I recommend BMC, Trilogy of Lights, or on their latest album there's Metal Kingdom in PIA Arena 2023, Monochrome, Divine Atack (for something heavier, all of these in live Pia Arena 2023), Metali (live).
But feel free to continue exploring their first albums, have fun with BABYMETAL DEATH Pia Arena 2023, Headbanger (I recommend the versions of the shows Legend 1997, Legend Metal Galaxy day 2, and Babymetal Returns - The Other One); Megitsune (it can also be the version of Legend Metal Galaxy day 1, Legend 1997, Tokyo Dome, Legend 2015, or simply the official music video, which is its best version).
There's so much to say, but I hope you'll take the recommendations above into consideration, we're here to help!

Great - reaction - but you really need to see "live" (but not "official" which is usually studio track) - they're a unique live band (in still I think their own genre after 14 years) and it shows, they put on amazing performances that put most of their MVs to shame, with a lot of great intros, crowd participation, staging, lighting and of course - the girls. More please - but live and preferably with intros if they have them :)

This is from the middle part of their career, they started in 2010 at the tender ages of 11/12, so to see the evolution I'd recommend starting with some of their live performances from before this and working through chronologically although this is your choice obviously.
While their MVs are good, to see BabyMetal in their natural setting live is normally the best choice as their stage presence and crowd interaction is incredible. The choreography has always been part of their performances.
    The normal starting points are
Headbanger Legend of 1997 Apocalypse from 2013 (there's a 4k remaster of this)
Road Of Resistance Live (official) from 2015
    Megitsune official MV from 2013
If you want something more recent then
    Monochrome live PIA Arena 2023
Metali official MV featuring Tom Morello from 2023
If you want to go right back to where it started then
Doki Doki Morning MV from 2011
iine MV from 2012 - this one's a slight oddity but...
Whichever way you decide to go down the foxhole you won't be disappointed.

Nice reaction. You won't find captions on the official channel. For your next ones I would suggest recent live performances of their songs Road of Resistance, Monochrome, and Megitsune from their PIA Arena 2023 concerts. Monochrome is off their latest album,.
