This is, and probably always will be, my favorite live performance of theirs. Three young Japanese girls dressed like gothic Victorian dolls, in front of tens of thousands of British metalheads, in the pouring rain, at a metal festival that the organizer just the year before refused to let a "gimmick" band like them play at, and they just completely dominate it. Su has that whole crowd in the palm of her hand the entire time.
Did you notice, when Su said "Let us hear your voice", she took out her earpiece so she can actually hear the crowd. I think that is so cool. She really wants to hear the fans. Totally epic. Nice reaction, too! Looked like you really enjoyed yourself!

I really enjoyed your reaction, the emotions were so visible, and I feel the same way.
In 2014, BABYMETAL went on their first tour outside of Japan and performed at Sonisphere UK on the big stage in front of 50k+ people and they were a hit. But the people behind UK Download said BABYMETAL would still never be allowed to play at their festival. So in 2015 DragonForce snuck the girls in and they planned to perform "Gimme Chocolate" together during DragonForce's set on one of the smaller side stages (This performance is on UA-cam). Word had gotten out about this and a HUGE crowd showed up that went beyond the stage area and they loved the performance. Well, as you can see, UK Download's organizers changed their minds and had BABYMETAL perform on the bigger stage the following year in 2016, which gave us this amazing performance.🦊🤘
In 2015 , my uncle renamed the festival clownload, due to their joke refusal to let Babymetal perform. A decision that even now I'm sure they regret.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。In a recent interview, Su-Metal said this Download 2016 was one of the most impressive festivals because of the heavy rain. The condition on the stage was so horrible and slippery that the 3 girls cautioned each other to mind their steps. (You can actually see Su slipping lightly at 03:02 in your video). They had to extremely concentrate on their performance and the team heartily got relieved after finishing it. But Su also said they were very happy to see the crowd waiting for them in such drenched condition. In addition, she thought the heavy rain worked as some kind of stage effects to make their performance look dramatic to the audiences in a fever. I love such a positive mindset of Su to accept any situation.
Now in 2021, They performed this song in each and every concert of 10 BABYMETAL Budokan. Su hit the high note at the end flawlessly with matured voice and made audiences rejoice.

I wanna be there so badly their crowds are always so great and they do a good job involving the audience into their performance. The crowd really adds to the performance. LOVE IT! A most awesome yet normal Babymetal reaction! This song has always been emotional for me. This performance ups that emotion to unbelievable levels. Still cracks me up though that the Queen leaves Yuimetal and Moametal hanging when they get knocked down but, when she belts out that last "Hashire," oh man, that reaches right down into my chest and yanks my heart right out. There are many Babymetal songs that bring out the emotions for different reasons. They singlehandedly helped get me through this pandemic and Mother Nature trying to kill us all here in Texas with that crazy deep freeze. I love Babymetal (everyone involved, not just the girls) and The One! Kitsune Up Y'all! 🤘🦊🤘

I feel you bruh, I was in a rock-metal-industrial band many years ago. I still love to listen to old-school songs, I rarely add new artists (a lot of them suck!), here are some artists in my playlist: Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Deftones, Rage Against The Machine, and of course BabyMetal...
This is my favorite live performance of this song. The rain makes it look cool but no doubt it was a nuisance. If you pay close attention you can see Su briefly lose her footing during the choreography but, like a champ, she goes right on without missing a beat.
Aye, Babymetal in full flight (and when they're performing live, they're always in full flight) are really something. In addition to the top-notch songwriting and musicianship, the great vocals, the superb choreography, and all the theatrical presentation, they bring an emotional charge that causes even grizzled metal veterans to weep tears of joy. and mentioned it in a interview they made just after that and said " we went to see what all the hype was about, got soaked it was worth it we get it there awsome " . BabyMetal then toured with Korn opening for them in 2017 and Korn dressed up like the Kamis and joined them on stage during BabyMetals performance to do Gimme Chocolate .BabyMetal Crowd participation you not seen nothing yet . After massive success at Sonisphere 2014, UK become natural home for our girls (actually they felt UK like 2nd home, so much love there❤️)
But there's a plot story the year before this, long story short, the organizer banned BM for Download shows, but *DragonForce* invite the girls to play _Gimme Chocolate!_ and everyone love it! Result: Babymetal was unbanned and invited to later Download events during next years, Fox God works in misterious way 🦊🤘
The reason that i told you before it would be better to watch official MV is because you will understand with visuals what is the meaning song about despite the language barrier, but seeing your emotions and feelings when hearing this song and beautiful SuMetal voice i think probably you don't need to do that, but it's up to you, the MV worth it at least on your spare time if you want.
_Karate_ is considered by many one of the most anime song style from BM along with _"Syncopation"_ for me _Karate_ could be the opening and _Syncopation_ the ending of this non-existence anime.

I think this is one of my top three BM songs and mostly because the call and response at the bridge then Su’s vocal belt right at the end when she includes that little run up and down an octave that gives me freaking goosebumps every single darn time. Very very powerful moving to be sure. And the call and response when she flexes her vocal muscles is downright beautifully done. Cheers, buddy!

I think there’s something magic that happens when one can be brought to tears of joy and pure emotion when you watch a band, or a person perform with raw unfiltered talent. That’s BABYMETAL. I’ve been to several live shows, including both nights at the Tokyo Dome in 2016. Even with a sellout stadium show of 55,000, the connection is there. Epic live band. 🤟🏻🤟🏻

The Sonisphere show was the one that marked the turning point for Babymetal, from being a small Japanese band in to what they are today. At the time it was a big gamble, as Su thought just before they went on, they be lucky if there was 1000 there to watch them. The thing was because of how tall they are, the angle of the stage and that the Sonisphere field goes slightly down hill, they could not see the crowd waiting until they walked out.

'Karate' was the lead single from 'Metal Resistance', the second album, and is a mainstay in their live shows.
I still think that it's kind of funny that sometimes Su will help her fallen comrades to their feet, and sometimes she will chat to the crowd for awhile instead. : )

Cyneward with BABYMETAL preconceptions are inevitable. If you'd told me that band would become so important to me and would have made me emotional in ways I rarely get a few years ago I would have laughed to your face. The Japanese metal/rock scene is swarming with amazing talent, songs and performances. BABYMETAL is often (rightfuly so) credited for opening those doors to so many artists from Japan. Thanks to them I discovered all of the bands you mentioned and more !
It is OK to feel emotional and connected with other people when watching BABYMETAL live. Their crowd interaction and participation is at a legendary level and this is merely a festival in the UK. You have much more wonders to discover from them on that front. Singing along and jumping/dancing along to BABYMETAL live is something very intoxicating.

You have dived deep down the fox hole. Found Babymetal back in late 2013 and have seen them progress to where they are now. Su to me is one of best front people period, male or female. I have to listen them everyday. Been to see them 2019 at the Forum. You have to see them live to truly understand them. Su's voice to hear for yourself is angelic. She is so good. She can do many different styles and be good at every one of them. Crowd participation is one of the draws for Babymetal because they feed off the crowd energy and the crowd feeds off of their energy. Before you go too far, i would highly recommend reacting to the unhelpful guide to Babymetal. There are a few versions but do the one that is 52 minutes long. It explains alot of the history of Babymetal, how and why it was formed. But stay away from any compilation videos. To me it ruins to performance of the song. Keep it up. You will not be disappointed.

This performance was a few months (I believe) after the promoter of Download Festival said in an interview that "BABYMETAL will never perform at Download because they are just a gimmick/not a real band" when being asked if he'd officially invite them to the upcoming festival(s). The question came because BM made an unofficial appearance in 2015's Download when Dragonforce invited the girls (some say smuggled them into the festival) to play a few songs with them in Dragonforce's own time slot. Seems like he either smelled some money or buckled under the pressure of the fans, he's not the most popular guy anyways, to say the least.

Babymetal live is better than Babymetal album. Babymetal delivers live. That's their core business, if you like, when everything comes together as a whole.
Normally I would advise you to steer away from most band's live performances because if you aren't there it just doesn't have the same impact as studio recordings.
With Babymetal it's a totally different story. As the saying goes: Live Babymetal is best Babymetal. They sound even better live. It's so rare.
