@mlo59 Have to completely disagree. The finale of Lost was one of the most brilliant, if not the most brilliant, 2 1/2 hours of television I've ever seen.
I feel Lindelof shouldn't be worried about criticism. It's a fact that he's a genius, or at least very near that - for coming up with 6 brilliant, coherent, classic seasons of pure cinematic and literary brilliance. Being that smart, cultured doesn't necessarily come with a supreme sense of confidence, yet in his case he shouldn't feel any threat at all. He's the architect, he knows better than anyone the tiny flaws and the huge quality of the show.
@CaptainRon0001 i think so too. i bet, they planned to do the "island-is-the-purgatory" thing from the start, but the fans figured it out too quickley. so they denied everything about that and brought up some other stuff, to keep the show running. i mean, that would also explaine, why everybody found something, or met someone, from their past.
Well Lindelof, I have watched every episode religously and loved this series, but the finale really really left me dissapointed, I didnt expect answers to every question the show raised but to go on about character development being the main focus of the series seems to be a cop out to me, you sacrificed an amazing plot, poss best ive ever seen in a tv series and concluded this great show with a quasi religious afterlife explanation :( not cool sir, not cool.
@eldreamo76 i know that. what i meant is, that they wanted to that in the beginning, imo. but they dropped the idea, coz people were expecting it, so they came up with *spoiler alert* the flashsideways is, as purgatory.
@manulito2 The island is not purgatory, it is the gateway to a world similar to what we percieve as purgatory. So technically they were telling the truth when they denied that.
Well, guess what, I had 100% faith in the producers of LOST I was a mad LOST fan and I loved the show because its storylines and its topic was revolutionary. It was a real mystery series. It did not start as a soap opera like series, it was from the beginning clearly a mystery show. Therefore it's simply sad and very depressing to see the producers to leave the mystery and trick the audience like Smoky tricked Jacob...
I love how people fume over how much they hate Lost now, but they're still watching the show, they're going to watch the finale and they're watching videos of Damon Lindelof talking about the finale. Why? If you're that pissy, don't watch it anymore. It's just a TV show. If you don't like it, watch something else. On another note, Damon looks like he belongs on a gay cruise.
@yoe91 you're entitile to your opinion but i disagree with you 100%. i think lindelof/cuse ruined seasons 3-6 of lost. and it was NOT coherent nor did it make much sense. i'm a HUGE fan of the first 2 seasons. they were well done in every sense. but there is NO defense for the last 4 seasons and how putridly awful they were.
Finale was Awesome, and perfect. Great job, LOST team!
Season 6 and the finale is the best of the bunch Damon, be glad that the true fans loved it.
Lindelof is a GENIUS.
This was the first tv series that made me feel like i was reading a comic. Just awesome.

Your show was awesome. I loved it. Now there is no reason to ever watch it again because the great reveal is that we go to heaven with those we love.

The final episode was the best episode of the show. Woop Woop!

So the Jack-Kate-Sawyer triangle which started at the beginning of season 1 was not a soap opera but a mystery?? Today I learned!
@halfvulcan
If you have seen the finale, then you should know that the island is not hell... Christian was pretty explicit about that.
@beavis4play Seasons 3-6 were amazing, Season 2 is my favourite, but the other seasons were also incredible and it made perfect sense.
I agree but I felt like season 6 was the weakest of all. My favourite is season 4.
Season 4 was incredible. That reinvented the show
@Hellfinky Why? Because you actually have to think about what's going on now? I think the writing has been excellent this season, very deep.
@crazytalkerman I watched the show for both the characters and the mysteries and I am incredibly satasfied. I know this show inside and out.
did u like it?
Agreed. Can't stand this guy for what he did to what could have been one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
the sideways flashes are about as compelling as staring at a wall

@Rude666 true fans watched Lost for both the characters and the mysteries, therefore, you are not a true fan
I genuinely think this series was perfect until season 6.
I feel the same way. Loved the show, but season 6 wasn't satisfying.
u must some unemotional unhappy robot.

first 2 seasons - brilliant. the last 4 were an absolute "titanic-like" disaster. and the finale ties seinfeld for "worst-ever" finale.
Finale sucked...
