3:37 “the server recommends the use of a custom resource pack” this is how they get the mod-like elements into the game without a mod, there are resources available for most actions and can be somewhat modified within the resource pack, thus this download prompt gave you all the modifications they needed you to have to play :)
something to keep in mind is that the most recent update to the game (the one that occured right before you joined) completely reworked a lot of systems, including soul points. Soul points used to be much more punishing, with a variable loss system depending on how many souls you had (high souls you'd only ever lose emeralds and materials, while at low souls you'd lose items). However, what really made things dicey was the fact that soul points were also used for fast travel (teleport scrolls). It's interesting that you found soul points to be a little underutilized (which makes sense since they kind of overcorrected from the previous system).
Whats crazy to me is that i played wynncraft back in like 2013. Decided to see if the only servers were still working and maybe i can still play a little bit since no one would probably be playong anymore. Little did i know that its even bigger and better and more populated than ever before
I love seeing that you made a video on Wynn. I've been watching you since you started making videos and Wynn is a server I play on quite a bit, I just have one small issue with this video. Wynncraft's ranks aren't p2w with the exception of the champion rank specifically, and that is only minorly so. The only benefits you get are cosmetics and then QoL changes that won't actually affect your experience playing the game. The minecraft EULA strictly prohibits paid ranks being egregiously p2w on servers like you have implied they are on wynn. Having more class slots is only beneficial if you want to have a bunch of maxed out classes(which requires you to have put many hours into the game) but you don't actually benefit in any tangible way by being able to make more classes. You can freely change your ability tree to run any build you want on any given class at any time, and you have enough class slots to have 1 of every single class in the game(plus 1 extra). Mob totems provide a very small boost to mob spawn rates in a small area for 5 minutes, these affect all players around the totem and aren't honestly used very often by the players who do have them since they give minimal benefit. A feature with minimal use that you don't need a rank to benefit from isn't really p2w. Having extra slots on the trade market is nice, but all it does is allow you to buy/sell more items on the market at a time. Being able to buy/sell 10/15 things instead of 5 isn't a huge benefit when 99% of your time on the server won't involve the market. Everything else the normal ranks give is strictly cosmetic and doesn't actually provide any gameplay benefit whatsoever. The highest rank, Champion, has a couple features that could be considered p2w, but not majorly so. Wynncraft has a bomb boost system where you can spend real money to buy a boost for an entire world on the server. This boost will affect up to 44 other players and yourself at a time and players can freely join a world with one of these boosts active. Champion rank has a "bomb bell" that notifies them when one of these boosts is activated and tells them what world it is on. This is ultimately not that impactful as you can get bombs with in-game money through shares on the market, and you could ask for somebody on any given world to throw a specific bomb and if somebody nearby has one they'll often do it to help you out. Additionally Champion rank has access to 5 extra exclusive player slots on a given world. So if you and a champion player were both trying to join a world with 40 players on it the champion player would join the world in one of the champion slots and you would get stuck in a queue while you wait for somebody else to leave that world. You'll still get in(or could go to one of the other dozens of worlds), they just get in a bit faster.
What's really cool is that the game just got updated and quality of life things have been added. So technically this video is out of date and the game got better.
This was a great watch, it's always fun to see MMO UA-camrs try Wynncraft! It'd be awesome to see you check out the recent update too. 👀 Credit where credit is due, the ranks aren't as pay to win as you'd think compared to the majority of Minecraft servers these days, unfortunately paid advantages are just a necessary thing to keep a server of this scale running, especially when it's free to play. Your point is absolutely fair, though I think Wynncraft does a great job at not making the ranks a necessity to progress, the sad truth is many servers don't achieve that so (I'm assuming, unlike most MMO games) that's not something to be expected by default - nonetheless, I enjoyed listening to your honest opinions!
Oh hey, randomly found your video and I will say that watching you remind me of my first day playing the game. I was a mage and still is. Just a head up, mage is not easy to play before end game. Wish you best of luck and have a wonderful journey.
Could you play Global Agenda its dead mmo but kinda came back from dead by accidentally turning on servers by devs and people started coming back so if you play it might more people will come to play
I hate Minecraft and its not a usual game to most people. The guy that thinks that what his version of realism is for most is not really there for most people. All you do in Minecraft is do mining and smithing and most isn't realistic. A tree does fall incorrectly. The water may fall or stay, but some blocks might not work. Blocks could float. The rain is 2d on your screen and not distance. There is many items but mostly are useless and "your tools break"! Diamond for some reason is blue and similar to rune armor in Runescape, but makes nonsense of actual sensibility as a name. As Runescape makes fun and there is many more skills and makes much more sense of rune crafting and runes and armor. As Minecraft is very pixelated on the character or blurry and blocky, which I hate. Also the crafting is horrid from what a gamer might have too know and someone new, would not know. The controls are very bad. So a Minecraft mmorpg is not that different but has a community and online with real players and simpler playstyle, but I dislike two of the games. Their not very great, but decent and acceptable. I understand any game and mostly played a few games. I know what you would have too do or the game style of which what there is and what has too be done with objectives that might not be there. In Runescape, you get all skills to 99 levels or 200m exp. There is no need to do most quests, but might need too do a few. Get what you prefer as a character in Runescape, that is like yourself and possibly chat a little a month or less. Its a game about playing alone but Slayer has partners now. There are pets from skills, which is the bases of the game of Runescape. There is no mounts, because its bad content and would kill Agility and its nice too walk or run.
Download STALCRAFT: X and play using my link: stalcraft.net/s/4PMJpe

the vip rank system just offers cosmetic changes - your spells remain the same, they just sparkle a little differently 🧙♂
Kind of wish some the more RPG centric modpacks for Minecraft played like this, like a real RPG~
