  • We make a lot of creative works in different mediums, so we're hoping to kick off a series documenting the process of how we make some of our things. This time around, Kage blabs out how he made a pointy waifu.

      The skillshare course I recommended has all info you'd need to know how to make this :)
      Only additional knowledge being...
      -Make your material an emission and not Principle BSDF to have it not interact with the light source
      -Course doesn't teach bones and weight painting, and sadly I don't have good tips on that. I'm more so into sculpting and mesh editing at this point in time.

      @@CubePunks but how did you make the texture of the eye?
      having an emission material doesn't allow me to ''draw'' on it.
      i really need a tutorial xd

    This is great, love low poly models like this and was waiting for people to try and mimic megaman legends.

    For the clipping issue, you can make it render better by using shape keys, and animating them. I don't recommend Pico CAD though, it's really painful to use the models you make (let alone to actually use it).

    this is awesome man! i've been wanting to play around with low poly modeling for years but i could never wrap my head around what the process would be to start thinking of modeling in those shapes. this is insanely insightful ! i subbed can't wait to see more :D

    This was an interesting find! I started trying to learn blender about a year ago, only finding time here and there and I pretty much went the same route as you - looking at MML Roll's model as a reference. Though while I was aiming to recreate games in that style rather than emulate it, it's really neat to see where we diverged and converged throughout the process! :D

    Really helpful video! I’ve been trying to work on some low poly characters myself and this made me realize I’m probably going to have to change my visual approach for it to look correct.

    ty for the video! While there are plenty of low poly tutorials out there, I think having a video break the design down and studied is helping me get a grasp on what I need to work on 👍

    have you tried seeing what shading the model smooth would look like? you just right click the model in edit mode and hit shade smooth.

    Hey I really love this tutorial, But I'm having alot of trouble planning out the hair would you have any suggestions for resources? Thanks :)

    • @CubePunks
      @CubePunks  2 роки тому

      hair has a lot of curbes in higher resolutions - you need to simplify them in low poly to being either entirely straight - or sharp bevels. simplify to main chunks you'll see in the silhouette, and if it needs extra detail to not look like a dumb helment, add it via textures. also make your hair mesh separate than your skull, that's more of a general modeling rule.

    Hi loved this video, great use showcasing all your references. Found it all very useful! I was wondering did you use any shaders for the rendering to get that crisp shadow look?
