I know this isn’t the most virally popular bit of content on the internet, but this universe and these narrators make me so happy i’m so glad this show exists
Mother Artiface is such a silly billy that you kinda forget that visually he looks like a horned monolith that most people would find a but intimidating.
I love the callback to the camera from season 1. I think it's amazing how they've crafted this in a way that you don't need to have listened to Midst before, but those who have get little moments like that as a bonus
I really do hope we get the soundtrack as a public release at some point, the music and audio effects are getting more refined as we continue. I especially love the re-introduction of the Moonward theme as the ship's motiff.
I've been learning about radio communication, so it was very satisfying to hear Felix follow best practice by opening with who they're speaking to, and then their name and rank, before actually giving their message. _“Stationary Hill, uh, Felix, chrono logistics here. Let's please [...]"_
All the characters in Midst's stories are always so utterly delightful. I love Artfice, Merlin, The Bocular Man, the Granddaugther and Cleophee already :3
So excited for this series. The narration and writing are top-notch as always! I have to say, I miss the different art panels that we got every episode of Midst. I hope they start doing them again for this installment.
Nothing bad will happen from creating a cosmos exploring ship from a shard of a transformed dark crystal moon that had doors that transported people to their greatest tragedy and was occupied by unidentified wall/ceiling crawling lizard/man creatures. It's a good idea!
This is the earliest I've gotten to an episode. The description of the fold bulb gave me Trigun vibes, the Plants used to power cities. Man, I can wait to see what the cosmos has to offer.
Feels like they had a lot of fun with this one. I've never watched an episode of star trek but this feels like the purest star trek experience to me. Except in the midst cosmos.
The amount of attention put on the fold lightbulb makes me think that if this thing flies to the top of the Un, something might happen that releases unlight-consuming fold, thus bringing about the Un-End.
As we learned from Moonward, Dark Mica is made from the remains of Midst’s broken moon, which from what we know, is the only source of the material, which is in the possession of the dark barons, (dark Sonia if I remember correctly) as the moon sank deep into the fold, so my question: is the dark mica being sold as material by the dark barons (the crew mentioned that the ship was expensive, or did the dark barons facilitate the creation of the vessel? If the dark barons are aware of the expedition this would make sense since traveling deep into the fold would likely require their permission.
I don't think the moon is the only source of Dark Mica. I think it just _became_ dark mica after falling into the fold. After all, Mother Trauma had a dagger made from dark mica while they were on the moon. Surely he didn't just whip it up while they were there. I'm sure other pieces have fallen into the fold over the years. The moon is probably just the latest. And biggest.
28:08 _Moonward_ riff ahoy! I'm getting the sense that the riff at the top of Episode one was the series theme, but that distinctive series of intervals is the Ship theme - which makes sense, considering.
So Bocular Man is essentially an excuse for Merlin to be alone. That library will never be complete. “Sorry guys, I can't join you. I need to record some messages tonight.”
you know , it would be INCREDIBLY funny, if JUST as they said "We have harnessed the Fold!" the Foldlight exploded. It would destroy the further story but it would be so funny
I love that they kept the “don’t say that about voyages” and the laughing that follows; never change stuff like that y’all it’s lovely
Where is that from? Moonward?
I know this isn’t the most virally popular bit of content on the internet, but this universe and these narrators make me so happy i’m so glad this show exists
"Like two dragonflies 'doing it' in mid air" got even the narrators off guard.
“A powerful image, stunning, to say the least. One that is not easily removed from the mind’s eye.”
“You’re welcome”
😂😂😂
Greatest line yet.
Ah yes, we have the three character archetypes:
Wednesday Adams, princess of cottoncandy Kingdom and Dilf
ah a fold lightbulb, I see absolutely no way for that to go terribly wrong
I love the verbing of nouns.

The first 60 seconds of this episode perfectly encapsulate everything incredible about this show!

Mother Artifice truly feels like Xen's unofficial second character :P they just voice them SO well
0:05 'Crowd cheering and a significant guitar riff' perfectly articulates my feelings at the start of any Midst-related content.

I ship (haha) the quiet one with the exuberant one now lol. This episode is so joyful!
What an absolute delight! You can tell the narrators are having fun
Felix is such a good character. Love him
I'm so ready for this adventure. This setting is so distinctive and the vibes are exquisite 👌

That would explain Cleo being part of the crew. As part of the aristocracy, maybe her family helped fund the making of the ship and it's mission.

Well, surely there's nothing foreboding about Merlin using the phrase "we spared no expense". 😨
Such eloquent vocabulary, especially those adjectives, man! Lovin' it.
except aghast, lets not use that 🤣😆
Lovely start to my day, listening and submerging myself in the Fold! Oh, look, I have a new eyebrow now.
I don't know if y'all know this but... You're AWESOME!!
So Bocular Man is essentially an excuse for Merlin to be alone. That library will never be complete. “Sorry guys, I can't join you. I need to record some messages tonight.”
So happy to be caught up with these now!
Great episode! Thank you.
18:07 *Leo point* I remember that from _Moonward!_ (Nobody bleed on it)
I thought i would be annoyed by mother artiface... now i live for them lol.
That Robot is going to kill them all
I absolutely love this
I really miss the little illustrations in each episode 🥲 But I love the new series already
Whose ready for the bocular man’s impending sentiency😀
and we're off!
you know , it would be INCREDIBLY funny, if JUST as they said "We have harnessed the Fold!" the Foldlight exploded.
It would destroy the further story
but it would be so funny
Dragonflies, eh? Alright then 😂
I love Midst!
What the frick, why is this so cool?
love it
Definitely nothing foreboding being said in this episode. Nope. Why would you say that? Lol.
