You could consider using the yearly overview for bills due/periodic expenses, menu planning or tracking (dinners), holidays/days off/vacation, medication/symptoms tracker, etc? As always, love your videos. I’m also back in standard TN this year. I’m going to have to pick up the SI monthly because the paper and layout are perfect. I can’t get myself to use my cheap inserts…
True. I think it's just tough, because the yearly overview is ONLY 6-mo in those books... in the monthly insert I'll be doing cycle, intimacy, and workouts though! Honestly might leave those other spreads blank OR cover them up with a vision board or something 😅
I’m gonna use a pretty similar system next year, got myself a common planner full year TN. Because I love to be able to bullet journal for dailies and collections, but I do not want to draw my own planning layouts 😂. Love having monthlies and weeklies that are already there and then I can go crazy in the notes pages
So glad to see you’re well. Was getting nervous not seeing a live or much content from you. I knew you were hard at work figuring something, plus the holiday. I’ll need to follow you on other socials. 🙂 Anyhow, I was going to suggest something similar. I could see you were struggling even though book-bound is your jam. Fun fact, I went into travelers after leaving Happy Planner. I did everything quarterly. Had several monthlies to track data but had a weekly and then a journaling/notes/to do insert. Then I had a junk journaling insert for creativity. Loved it. Sometimes I entertain going back. But I love just one large chunky book, no matter the chunk. There’s something about just throwing in my bag, just in a vinyl cover, when I’m the go, that’s satisfying. I could see why anything smaller than an A5, the chunk would get difficult to work with. Especially a standard with how narrow it is. All you can do is try it out. ❤ I love your vds. You motivated me to bring mine back out that I purchased second hand. The outside leather is undyed and had some water stains marks. So, I pick it up for a fair price. I used a conditioner/cleaner to even it out and picked one to be “too safe” (darkening the undyed). It did darkened it a little. But not much and now I don’t like it, as it looks a bit orange. I’m going to strictly condition it with mink oil, to hopefully get to go to a chestnut color. Has a beautiful Tiffany blue leather inside. I think the stark contrast will be beautiful. Wish me luck! 🍀
Aw you're so kind! Yes, not so much struggling with my books (although I think there was some of that going on) it's moreso just bandwidth and ensuring I'm prioritizing my personal health and business during a busy season, since YT here is a hobby for sure! I'm so glad you got inspired to bring out your VDS for sure! And I agree on a chunky book - in a B6 or A5 size, it's not as much of an issue - in TN, being narrower, it's just a bit more unwieldy lol
That's a great question! At this time, I don't plan to purchase another custom cover - since purchasing another one isn't super aligned with my goals right now of decluttering my stationary :) Although I have a wishlist item for another cover but order it slightly wider (maybe not quite A5 slim, but somewhere in between) next year if I end up ordering another one. If I do order another cover. I'll definitely get another VDS again because for what I like and wanting to keep using what I buy, the value of it is worth it to me. I plan to order some leather samples so I can make a super informed decision on any potential future orders, but I also don't MIND having the stalogy cut down a bit more - it hasn't impacted the functionality at all since it was only 5mm. It doesn't bother me enough to order a whole new cover just yet.
I just use a corner rounder I got off Amazon :) And I just do 3-4 page in the rounder at a time so it doesn't hurt my hand/isn't difficult to round. This is the one I use, and I use the 'small' side for the stalogy corners: amzn.to/3BrZNl0
Your setup is so perfect and tailored for you which is so fun to hear about!!
It is most definitely my brain on paper 😂
Team strings 🫶 stalogy is love! Gosh, that cover is pretty, and I'm loving your setup!
Yes Stalogy is SO good! So simple and I LOVE how bright the paper is while still being nice and fluffy. And I'm still so obsessed with my cover lol!

Great set up. I love seeing other people’s TNs and getting inspiration and new ideas for mine 😀
Aw thank you!!!

YES same!!! Knowing the dates pages exist is a relief, and then I can do what I want with the rest. Lol.

I love this setup coach Elena. Instead of slimming down the 1/2 year stalogy even more, have you considered using a wider cover? A5slim/wide?

Can you PLEASE do a reel or video on how you round the corners? I want to try getting something cut down but I don't enjoy non rounded corners.

Where are the vertical month headers with the stars from? They're so cute!
From Planner Monkey Co :)
What is the leather insert with the pen loops? Where did you get it?
Or maybe it is part of your cover?
The pen loops are attached to my cover, they were a customization I added when I ordered from VDS :)
