Hi Sam, you may want to check out Sterling Ink she has an A5 and a B6 daily planner that has just the months and dailies. Also her N2, which is comparable Hobonichi weeks has grid on the left side of the page with the horizontal dates. I used SI this year and I bought it for next year and I’m just waiting for the daily planner to come back in stock. The paper quality is wonderful.
I laughed when you mentioned not looking at old planners when you’re in planner peace. That’s me! I’m also using the Hobonichi weeks but glanced at my commit 30 today and felt 🤔🤔🤔
Team horizontal 🙌 hehe yea my writing slants up, so grid would be great on the left. I know there are other choices, but this magical little book has a hold on me! I always said that if hobonichi came out with a planner with monthlies and dailies, I'd buy it... then Sterling Ink made one, lol. I did get the B6 and it might be my journal next year, but at least i know my weeks is my main squeeze at this point in my life!
Loved ur video. I have been in the same planner (ringed-compact) for over 25 years. I’ve tried others especially recently because of watching UA-cam videos on the commonplace notebook and others non- ringed. I do want to downsize my planner in 2025 and go to the personal size just because of the weight of my purse! I do like and need the space of the daily 2 page. I’m going to try!! Thank you again for a great video!!
I totally understand what you mean when you say something works for your brain. That’s how it is for me with vertical weekly.. I am new to planners (I know!) and found you by a random search on UA-cam and subscribed 🖋💗 I will keep my planners, so ring-bound is no option, cause I need a neat lineup on my shelf, but I have a small binder style leather cover that is not much used and I think thanks to you I will go back to it for those random daily notes and scribbles to be tossed. 🌸
I've been in the B6 Common Planner as my main planner since it came out. This year I'm trying a DIFFERENT B6 planner that has both horizontal and vertical spreads so I can use the former for actually planning and the latter for time tracking. I have pretty consistently used an undated W222 for work so I can use the stacked weekends for more lists, and I go in and out of others. I have started carrying an A6 filofax notebook with removable pages as a workout log and random notepad. Once I get around to cutting and punching grid paper to size, it's also going to be a purchase tracker. I use Hobonichi memo books for sticker collages because I have a huge binder of Stickii Club stickers and giving myself one every time I finish a task is how I get through work. I also started a journal where I can talk myself out of purchases and make notes about things I've gotten and why they work/don't work for me
Gosh I feel that comment about being careful looking at old planners. I pulled my personal rings out last week and so very nearly fell back in! 2024 was cousin, weeks, original A6 from Hobonichi. Pocket moleskine weekly and page a day (horrible paper) for a bit. Weeks endured and A6 was a surprise journaling delight! So ditching the cousin, using a pocket moleskine grid for commonplacing, weeks edc, trying a Kinbor weeks for health tracking and kinbor A5 for work notes. Hobonichi weekly supplement and tiny notebook for bag. Hobonichi A6 journal. Think that’s it so far! 😂
Great recount of what worked for you and what didn't. Your stickers indicate that you are an ESTJ, so it does not surprise me at all that you like the Hobonichi Weeks and that works for you. I find it fascinating to watch planner videos to see what personalities pick for their planners. I am an ENTJ, so I want the structure, but I need cohesive "room", which the Hobonichi Weeks does not give me. And I have opted out of the Cousin because I do not like all of the monthlys, then weeklys, then dailys together. I want them integrated - a month, then weeklys, then dailys. Perhaps you may also wish to consider a simple notebook for your daily quiet times with the Lord.
I always enjoy your chatty videos! May I ask, do you have recommendation of best sites to sell your "pre-loved" planners? I am going to sell some of my lesser used ring planner covers to have less overwhelm😅 but have never sold online. Thanks and keep up with your fun videos!
I really WANT to be able to use the weeks. I buy them every single year with the thought that i can make it work. I love the size and how easy it is to carry... but it never lasts and i end up back in my A5 Cousin. The vertical weeks are my jam
It’s interesting how our brains work differently, I struggle with horizontal. I’m a lister so my lists need to be vertical, and that is hard for me to make work in a horizontal layout.
This is my first year using the Hobonichi brand Weeks planner. (I’ve used other brands.) I love that the weeks can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it. I also bought a Hobonichi English A6 and I love the paper already I agree with you about the Cousin. I’m a horizontal girl too! I’m disabled and an empty nester so my simple life doesn’t require a Cousin -but it is lovely. I have several other notebooks that I write or journal in because I write a lot. I find my memory slipping and sometimes get confused. I love being able to say “I don’t remember but I wrote it down.” Hubby is getting me a Hibino for Christmas! That will be for poetry writing and journaling. Loved your chatty video and now I’m off to watch some of your old Hobonichi Weeks videos!
I agree about the need of graph on the left side of hobo weeks!!! Also, I love the idea of keeping all of the unused planners, just in case! I go back and forth all of the time for the experiences of other papers and layouts!!! Love your videos! Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts!
I’ve dabbled A TON this year in many journal set ups too. I’ve learned a lot. 1. I’m a standard tn girl. Just am. It’s the Goldilocks size for me for the last three years even though I’ve moved back and forth to other sizes. 2. I like a Moleskine daily for daily scripting. It gets messy and crazy sometimes, but I like it. Standard and wide have been treating me so well, I’m taking my system now into 2025.
Awesome!!! I would LOVE to try ALL OF THESE 😊😅🤩
I want that cousin 😅 and the pocket luxe rings, omgoodness, and the a6 in the soujourner!!! Wow!!! I love all the ones that you put in leathers🥹😻🥰
Yas! Love to see what you used, whatever planner you use, you make it look so nice! 🤍
Thank you so much!! 🫶🏻

I see it’s a growing favorite for sure. I think if it came in a hardcover I’d be sold! You never know though, still might check it out!
I love everything you mentioned about the a6 pen and gear! Plus a6 is my favorite size for my edc.
I want that cousin 😅 and the pocket luxe rings
Excellent video! Thank you ❤

Hobonichi DOES have a monthly and a daily only... Its the day free! Also, another option is the Kinbor A5 they only have the months and daily as well.
I know, but it’s undated. For some reason I’m holding out for one that has dates.

Welcome to the planner community and thank you so much for being here!! 🫶🏻

The hobonichi day free comes in an A5 with just monthlies and dailies, no weeklies
Doesn’t the avec also come in monthly and dailies only? I swear it comes in the a5 size
@lilpriestess the a5 avec still has weeklies. The a6 avec does not
It’s not actually dated though, they’re more like notes pages and there aren’t enough for one per day
Yeah, I’m holding out for a dated daily. Until then I guess I have the Moleskine!

I come from Anne’s channel. I’m excited to follow you.
Hi there! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I wish they would make the hobonichi cousin in B6 size. That would be the perfect solution for me.
That would be nice too! I like the B6 size so much!
I started using the 2025 Weeks and the uBrand felt tip pens work great!
Thanks for the assurance!

Yes! I think our personalities have a lot to do with what we choose and how we use it!

Thank you so much! I join planner groups on FB that go with the planner I’m trying to sell, like Ring Planner BST, or IG. Good luck!
@samplans Thank you so much!
I'm a new subscriber, and I'm looking forward to your content! 🥰📚📖☕️
Thank you so much, and welcome!!
Thank you for the very insightful video! Also, I need that Shut Up Everyone “ sticker 😂
Right?! I always keep a few on hand. 😂
Great video Sam! Where did you get the clear cover for the b6 stalogy? It looks matte which I love! Thanks! Happy Holidays!
It’s a Nolty from Amazon!

Same
You should try Hobonichi day free. It has monthlies and blank pages.
I keep holding out for the dated dailies. It probably won’t happen. 😅
Sterling ink has dated pages and her paper is just like Hobonichi
This is my first year using the Hobonichi brand Weeks planner. (I’ve used other brands.) I love that the weeks can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it.
I also bought a Hobonichi English A6 and I love the paper already

Loved your chatty video and now I’m off to watch some of your old Hobonichi Weeks videos!
Kinbor from AliExpress has monthly and dailies in the A5 size at fraction of the cost of the hobonichi with very similar paper 😊
Hmm. I might have to ponder that, thanks!
@@samplans there are a few lovely UA-camrs that compare the two side by side 🤗
Team horizontal here❤️🇨🇦
🙌🏻 yes!
I agree about the need of graph on the left side of hobo weeks!!!
Also, I love the idea of keeping all of the unused planners, just in case! I go back and forth all of the time for the experiences of other papers and layouts!!!

It’s just a small change that would make a big difference!! Thank you!!
I’ve dabbled A TON this year in many journal set ups too. I’ve learned a lot.

I don’t have the gift of straight handwriting either. 🤭
It’s like a super power!!
@ I agree!!
