    Cool. My 1st was a 2nd hand Gaggia Classic. Great machine, small, compact and easy to use. Next it was a Miss Silvia. Not really an upgrade other than size. For home use I prefer the Gaggia Classic. For pro or semi-pro use, none of these pro-sumer machines are recommended.

    Bought the LatteGo 3200 from you guys for my cousin a few years ago (3 I think) and it's awesome! I think i want something more like the Bambino Plus for myself. Do you guys not recommend it any more? Been watching it for 3 years since you put out the exclusive "Bambino Pro" edition.

    I got the bambino plus. It seems like the best bang for the buck, especially being able steam and froth milk automatically and pid temp with quick start up.
    I just wish the machine could have a 58mm portafilter

      The really nice thing is the steaming power you get over the regular Bambino. Plus it's easy to find nice 54mm portafilters for cheap.

    I'm interested in the first machine to the left, but I can't understand what the name is. I wish he would have written it down.

    You should have showed a Breville with built-in grinder - you’re missing that ‘middle ground’

    • @carrak360
      @carrak360 Рік тому +2

      Everything I've read about the Breville built in grinders so far is that, Breville could do better, and that they hold some of the grind so your next shot is always stale. And that it's better to buy a separate grinder.

    I cant decide whether to get a semi auto or super auto. Will i even notice a big difference between the two?

    • @grante8
      @grante8 Рік тому +4

      I would highly recommend against a super automatic. I have a Philips super auto and in the 2 years I've owned it its broken 5 times. None were my fault the machine had to be replaced 3 out of those 5 times. This repair/replace process took about 2 months each time. The longevity of a gaggia classic or a Rancilio Silvia is worth going that route alone. The semi-autos paired with a good grinder will produce a much better cup.

    • @jules5350
      @jules5350 Рік тому +5

      Depends on what you want. Do you want to learn to be a barista or do you want the machine to be your barista. The quality of the super auto’s espresso will never be as good as semi. But, there can be a pretty steep learning curve.

      I’ve never tasted a great coffee from super automatic.

    I feel like these are espresso-ish machine recommendations that don’t really make good espresso. You should be more transparent about that. The double wall baskets are especially problematic as well as the implication that you can smash some supermarket ground coffee with a plastic tamper and add tap water to get espresso is not realistic. Also maintaining a quality home espresso machine like a Rocket Appartamento or Rancilio Silvia Pro X requires regular cleaning and treated water to yield good results and adequately perform for years. I suspect that people who buy the machines you suggest will be very soon disappointed and go back to torturing their local baristas with ridiculous half-caff-decaf-semi-mocha-latte-extra-vanilla-double-froth-chai-spiced-grande.

      Actually, the Diletta Mio does seem like a solid choice as an entry-level machine that when paired with a good grinder could yield exceptional espresso, provide years of service with proper maintenance and allow user room to grow out of that beginner home barista phase. The Mio would probably make a good daily driver for most people.
