Super helpful I couldn't find any information on whether I needed to remove the outer orchid... Husk? When attempting to propagate these beauties, so you answered my question and more!
your outside area there looks and sounds like paradise. So peaceful. I have a back bulb that just showed a little shoot poking up, maybe an inch and a half tall. It's whitish right now. How long should I wait before I water it? Thank you!
@@thenaturecompany Really? I live in Southern Ca. beach area, so warmish through to spring. When does the new sprout start growing roots? Thank you. I appreciate it.
it generally starts producing new roots fairly quickly . it will start to swell at its base a little and the roots will start to come from there as the pseudobulb expands .
the new shoot can take anywhere from a several weeks to start to appear to a year , one of mine I had forgotten about suddenly popped up a new shoot after nearly 2 years of sitting being almost dormant .
Easy and so much fun…. Flowers a plenty to come

you can mist it occassionally if you are worried the back bulb is withering too much . I will generally only start proper watering in Spring

Thanks again Guys for your help. Should I wait for the back bulbs dry out first or not?
Its Not important but if you have any fungus or pests ,you should treat them. Thanks for watching
Are back bulbs at all necessary to keep when dividing or can you repot all of them separately??? Thanks
Try to keep 1 back bulb to to active bulbs.
How often you need to water such bulbs?
no very often . keep them on the drier side until you start seeing the new growth . Not completely dry ...
