  • This video is the second half of the Rough Country lower body armor kit. In this video we go over the install steps needed to install the armor panels on the front and rear doors. The rear quarter panels(fender cut) are on the first video and are a separate kit. As always these videos are rough cut and in first person. We make these videos to provide information and help. We are not film editors or camera people. If you are watching this as a continuation of the first video the quality issues have been resolved on this video and this is a much easier video to watch. If you have any questions, comments or concerns. please feel free to drop them in the comments and we will answer back as soon as we can.
**Note: it is recommended that you watch both video before attempting this project. Also have a basic understanding of functional mechanical work and fabrication**

Order a rivnut tool which makes easy work of these plate installations, they usually include a nutsert kit with a good amount of sizes in case you need extra, also if things dont fully line up you can drill all the plates holes a step larger for more adjustment

Thanks, i don't have a rivnut tool but i for sure have access to one if i need it. I was thinking the point would be to do it with what they give you because most people don't have rivnut tools. That's why i try to do most jobs with hand tools unless its something that is going to take way more time an effort to do without using air tools. When I pulled the transmission for the clutch it had so many other things involved i used power tools, when i could. I don't do these jobs as a novice, i do them so a novice can do it too.

    Informative, thanks.
My doors are so rusted out on the bottom though, I have to make patch panels just to have something to attached the armor to. I'll probably end up just welding them on, but I wanted to get an idea of how they're SUPPOSED to go on.

Glad the video could help, there is a part 1 to this video also. Hopefully, you saw that one too. These can be welded on too. The plates are plenty thick enough.

I normally avoid their parts, they are poorly made chinese products to undercut american made stuff. I couldn't find a complete set of plates for a reasonable price any place else. Otherwise i would have bought them from someone else. Luckily the truck is dent and bent in many other spots so the scratches do not bother me. Thanks for the comment.
