@thedog556 bah Thats an old wives tale ! Callin' BS on YOU ! wrapping headers does NOT cause cracking ! why spread such disinformation? we've done it for 35 years ! ! besides I said wrapping the INTAKE pipe ! every 20 deg reduction in intake air temp is like raising the octane 2 points! = more power
@thedog556 horse pucky ! bad info ! many racers wrap the headers they would not do it if it cracked headers ! you don't know what you are talking about ! sorry !
Coming from the Volvo world..cone filter intakes don't do anything except slightly better throttle response. The only reason to do this would be for more turbo sound. The factory Volvo ram air works better at keeping intake temps low. How hard would it be to put a junkyard K24 from Volvo S60R on the TurboX? Or if your gonna go for it just go HX35?
Auto Autopsy If you are talking about a 19T from a Volvo then a K24 would be pretty much bolt on as well. My Volvo T5 has a TD04 16T. On the T5 being a 2.3L 5 cylinder the TD04 seems too small. For you having a 6 cylinder I would look into larger housing options especially since you live in south west. Those TD04s get hot especially at 20psi or more.
I like to think of ideas to utilize old or junkyard parts to upgrade other vehicles. What would be really cool to do to your car would adapt the Volvo T6 twin turbo system to your V6. There are 2 separate manifolds with TD03 11g turbos on them but you could bolt TD04 16T turbos to them. So you could get 2 manifold adapters made to fit your head. Your engine bay looks pretty crammed already so clearance and space would probably be a problem. Obviously some sort of tune would be needed though I'm sure. That would be cool though 3 cylinders can easily power TD04 series turbos.
The air filter? Here’s the video on it. The companies are mentioned in this video you’re commenting on though: ua-cam.com/video/nuYuFOj1tiQ/v-deo.htmlsi=R_Ikva-qictgBEVl
I would say that it comes with the 15t turbo but I am not totally sure. One question I do have however is concerning mileage since the popular belief is that the mileage improves with a tune. Have you noticed any difference with it? I am planning on tuning and modding my '06 aero in a near future.
The fuel economy benefit is mostly for Diesel engines. On petrol it all depends on how hard you put your foot down, and all about keeping out of high revs. If I eco-drive my A4 with a 2.0 tfsi engine, I can manage 6.5 l/100km or even better, but “normal” driving on the same stretch of road (about 20 km) I do about 8.5 l/100 km. My car is tuned by REVO (big in the VAG tuning scene) and it made no difference to mileage and fuel consumption for “normal” driving. If anything it got worse 😂
@@rao-foto hmm, alright then. On every forum i've been on regarding tuning and fuel consumption they say that you will have about a 10% difference from stock, but i guess i'll have to tune it to find out😂 6,5l/100 seems a little much for that engine imo, since I with my 2.8t V6 Saab 9-3 gets roughly 6,2 with my eco-driving shoes on🤔 normal driving shouldn't be talked about since that's rubbish to be honest😂
Sebastian Ekroos It’s an Audi A4 avant with quattro, so permanent AWD, also the car weighs 1760kg “real weight” (weighed on a car-weight/scale), so it takes a toll on the poor 4-banger to pull it along 😂
geoff washington that’s because nobody has ever heard “oh Jesus” from the back seat of a parked Saab, and they never get “Stalin” even if you leave the keys in it with the window open and a note saying “PLEASE!” 😂🤣😂🤣
But when upgrading turbo you go from twin-scroll to single-scroll as far as I know. You sacrifice responsiveness for power, which in my head seems bad for daily driving.

There is no cel or anything wrong with it but I’m afraid of two things. 1) If I start modding it I won’t be able to stop until my savings account is non existent. And 2) if I start modding it im going to run into a bunch of problems. I plan on keeping the car forever so what mods can I do to gain some power and performance without having to worry about it blowing up? I would really appreciate a response if you have the time

IT WILL NOT crack EXHAUST headers we have wrapped ours in the desert for many years ! and why would wrapping the INTAKE tubes crack a header ? you been smokin' some ? crack ? LOL
@thedog556 horse pucky ! bad info ! many racers wrap the headers they would not do it if it cracked headers ! you don't know what you are talking about ! sorry !
@@AutoAutopsy it will do a LOT to help we need all the help we can get in the desert!
I'll probably stick with the 19t or 20t; that's what most people do and it's a direct bolt on
Auto Autopsy If you are talking about a 19T from a Volvo then a K24 would be pretty much bolt on as well.
How did you do and fromm were did you take the aer filters?
The air filter? Here’s the video on it. The companies are mentioned in this video you’re commenting on though: ua-cam.com/video/nuYuFOj1tiQ/v-deo.htmlsi=R_Ikva-qictgBEVl
I love your saab it looks just like mine!! Where do you get your parts?
Thanks! Lots of parts sources out there. Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/ARVbmaQ7Dn8/v-deo.html
I would say that it comes with the 15t turbo but I am not totally sure. One question I do have however is concerning mileage since the popular belief is that the mileage improves with a tune. Have you noticed any difference with it? I am planning on tuning and modding my '06 aero in a near future.
I'd say it's gotten a bit better. Depends on what tune, but they certainly can do insanely good things for your gas mileage.

I thought I was original with saabrina 😂
But when upgrading turbo you go from twin-scroll to single-scroll as far as I know. You sacrifice responsiveness for power, which in my head seems bad for daily driving.
fair point...but more boost ;)
What do you recomend manual vs automatic gear when it comes to performance?
Maggotsoup
anything I can do to increase the shift speed of the transmission solenoid ? I have a 2002 Subaru wagon 20k auto turbo, I believe its the same running gear. Thanks for the video.
I’m not sure. Sorry!
White 2011 Saab 9-3 Turbo4 2.0l 110k miles here. Die hard Saab all the way baby
nice! :)
If Iam getting a stage 0 v tuner 91 octane tune on a 2006 93 aero do I need to upgrade anything else or is it good to go with stock exhaust and stock intake?
I myself have an 06 9-5 vector sportsvagon with the 1.9 tid engine, i don't know if it has been tuned previously but if not i am thinking about the stage 1 maptune to 180 hp
nice!
I have a stage 3 BCB (Brew City Boost) tune on my 2011 2.0L saab 9-3 turbo4 XWD! I push around 300hp I want to race you next time you visit CO! Lol
nice! lol
Hey how much original horsepower to now are you getting? and so far how much money has been spent?
it's 280 stock; not sure how much I've spent!
How many miles do you have on the turbo x? I have a 2009 9-3 aero 2.8t xwd and it’s a 6speed too! I just cranked 166k miles on it and I would love to start modding it. I would really appreciate a response if you have the time
nice! mine has 187k; no real issues after modding; just keep maintaining!
The Saab is best served Winter-cold!

What would you advise: offer a 9-3 2.8t 2005 with 245000km.
To buy or not to buy?
First Look and ride - no issues found.
Everything apart from a good aftermarket exhaust is original.
My V6 TX had almost 200k miles when I sold it. If it’s been well taken care of, I wouldn’t worry
@@AutoAutopsy Hi!
Thank you for your advice!
turbos dont add boost thats in the tune they add more air!
true; i should've phrased that differently; that's what I meant, lol
i have a 95 - 3.0 V6 T Griffin cant find any one with content T_T ... also heat soak issue ... water injection best mod for any turbo car
yeah, unfortunately 3.0T in the 9-5 is a rare and not well covered motor 🙃 I would argue a bigger intercooler is a better solution than water injection! Unless you’re tracking the car lol
my fwd 9-3 got bigger custom build turbo ,wider intake intercooler. bigger injectors. stiffer clutch, 3" downpipe. Need to get bigger fuelpump next (not enough fuel for e85 @ 130mph++).
nice!!
What’s your hp on the Turbo X at the moment?
Probably 320-330hp with 375-385ft/lbs
Hello, I have a Saab 9-3 xwd v6 2.8 airo. I programmed it, stage 2, and it works. After one week start make miss firing and message came limited performance i change coils .fuel pump presser sensor i need solution so please if you can help me till me what to do waiting for response
Did you replace with OEM coils? How about spark plugs? This video has info: ua-cam.com/video/S8rmH-9CS5A/v-deo.htmlsi=oqcPPMAPiYVJUj2Q
I guess you don't know much about diesel Saabs, but have you heard about any worthwhile upgrades for a '09 9-5 griffin diesel?
(Or if anyone else has some good info)
nope i don't know anything about them!
I have a 03 Saab 9-3 convertible which comes with a strut brace...I can upgrade to a 9-5 turbo which won't top out on boost
2008 Saab 93 2.0t.. got it for free.
nice!
Hi , Do your door mirrors have auto dimming ? I fitted the compass rear view mirror but the auto dimming on door mirrors stopped working . Refitted original rear view back to normal now .
They do!
Hi just bought a 9-3 (2008) Aero Saloon, Petrol UK spec. What mods would you suggest for power? it's stock is 210bhp. Thanks.
Everything in this video, lol!
Interesting video ! Mine is a 2005 aero petrol with Maptune
three inch system - sounds great and helps engine breath better
Black diamond drilled and grooved discs - Goodyear asymmetric F5 tyres
Strut brace
Poly bushes for anti roll bar
nice!
How was the Maptun exhaust, was it loud?
where did yiu got the rear window spoiler?
I bought it on eBay. here's the video: ua-cam.com/video/X2Y4EApeNio/v-deo.html
Are you saying "strep rates"...or strut rates...I cant understand...is this to help the coils...should I keep the coils on and add the "strep rates"?
link a time? I don't know what you're referring
Strut brace
Good content
do you know of an app for an android phone that gives better support to a generic bluetooth OBD scanner? The generic apps don't really support all functions for a (standard) Saab 9-3 Tid 150Hp.
I have Apple, so no. Sorry
2008 Saab 9-3 Turbo X vs. 2009 Saab 9-3 Aero V6 AWD. I know you covered it somewhere, but what are the main differences?
See here: ua-cam.com/video/Er4eptbajhY/v-deo.html
@@AutoAutopsy YES! Thank you! I knew I had seen it somewhere and couldn't remember.
Why do you still have a swedish plate number?
That plate is out of commission at present. But they do get reused, so probably soon some Volvo or VW will be driving around with that plate in Sweden
@@olabergvall3154 ohh okay
I've mentioned it a few times before; had it sent to me from a subscriber in sweden! It's merely for looks
The plate is for a 9-5 here in sweden thats still in use.
Can you add a tune by yourself?
If you know how to tune, it’s possible. I recommend buying an off the shelf one from a reputable tuner though!
I have a 2003 saab with over 200,000 miles on it what is the maximum miles you can put on a Saab engine or should I just sell it now these cars can get pretty expensive
i've seen plenty out there with well over 200-300k
That license plate is a skoda kamiq -20 today haha its my neighboor 😂
Damn dude, what rims are those?!??!
Factory turbo x wheels!
When I was swapping the wheels on my 9-3 I noticed that the brakes had Aero written in marker on them so it looks like somebody else already did that.
nice!
breaks??
come on man, get educated. It's BRAKES!
Stu Kirkley God dammit
What exhaust setup do you have?

I have a 2006 Aero sport combi. I tried your hokdthe keyfon unlick button for twoseconds, but neither my sunroof nor my windows opened.
im not sure what the issue could be
Could you say what size the Turbo X wheels are? i'd like to have them on my 9-5 but want to know the size

OEM Turbo X wheels

does the e85 conversion work on 2002 saab 9-5 ? what are the pros of converting?
yes; i'd check maptun. i know they offer e85 tunes

i think open air filter do more have check on other car, saab 9-5 and volvo v40 t4,big differents in my mind, hehehe
Have saab 9-3 now but not start, alternator are finnish

How much in usa,free limit?
depends; the more boost you make, the more necessary it is to have a bigger intercooler
Can you please help me how to fix my 06 saab 9-3, my turn signal is not working but my hazard light is working fine any help will appreciate thank you.

Did you import your Saab? Cause i Can see that u have the swedish registration plate.
