Such a nice hour to sit and work while listening and viewing all of the great goodies from the trendsetters of the cross stitch world. What lovely projects you both have shared with us today, products galore to want to add to our treasure chests and what delightful, wonderful goodies and gifts from a community that adores you! Thank you both so much for sharing your passions and love of needlework with us! Have a great couple of weeks ahead :)
Dear Vonna...thank you for your kind and generous words! We love watching your floss tubes and IG posts...you have shared so much and continue to do so. You are a true trendsetter young lady!!! Hugs!!!
Hi Brenda and Laura. I have been watching you for several months. I just got back into cross stitch after about 40 yrs. I had forgotten how much I enjoy it while I was busy raising kids an working as a nurse. Thank you for your enthusiasm and sharing your pure joy of the craft. God Bless you both.
I would add to the bring to retreat discussion 2 more things: small 1st aid kit (I inevitably need a bandaid when not at home.) and a stitching safe lotion (My skin dries out in commercial buildings. ) My favorite is Gloves in a Bottle. It is safe around crafts once it is absorbed (about 5-10 minutes). It is fragrance free and hypoallergenic. It doesn't take much and you can wash your hands a couple of times before needing to reapply. 1 bottle lasts a long time. Thank you for your great videos. Blessings, Diane.
I love Gloves in a Bottle! I even gave it to my brother, a doctor, who washes his hands constantly and was getting cracks on his fingertips. Problem solved.
I was just watching your latest video about the masks at retreats...I need to order that thing you showed! I hate wearing masks so maybe that would help. I hope that we can have maskless retreats next year!
Gloves In A Bottle is the only lotion I use! I love the exfoliating effect. On very dry hands, the lotion actually will help roll off all that dead skin. Yup, sloughs it right off. Leaves your hands snag free……. Bright darker blue bottle. I buy the large when I can find it and fill the smaller bottle for my shoulder bag and stitching bag. We need to publicize this lotion! Get the knowledge out there!
Excellent floss tube as usual. I'm looking forward to the Blackbird SAL. Brenda I love all the past stitches. They bring back such wonderful memories. Laura love your starts and new discoveries. We never have to many projects bags!!
I was so proud of myself for getting all the supplies for the Flea Market SAL well in advance of the June start, but now that Laura has shown her start, I think I’m going to start also. Hi Laura and Brenda! A friend just introduced me to your videos, and I was so delighted to read about your 10 Commandments of Stitching. And #7 really hit home, as I love red samplers. So I used your commandment to introduce my collection of red samplers in my last video! You do a great job. Very inspiring! Thanks so much. Judy

I am so excited about BB weekend and have everything/too many ready to go! It's such fun to see your previous stitches! Thanks as always and happy stitching!
Your BBD weekend SAL will give me the push to start the anniversaries chart which is all kitted up ready to go. Enjoy watching and thanks for sharing all that you do.
@@padmarubiales5184 I think Brenda took some pictures, but they were of other people's set up and I don't feel it would be cool to show that on our channel.
I have yet to get to attend a stitching retreat; however, other crafting retreats I’ve attended I cannot live without lip balm and hand lotion. I’m a nurse, so my hands resemble bloody stumps from all the washing and sanitizing I have to do in 12 hours!! Putting some on at the end of the day, and taking a break during the day for lotion, will go a long way for your skin!! Of course, you do not put on lotion then pick up your stitching!! 😁 Laura, you started to talk about bringing extra linen and my mind went immediately to bed linens and towels!!! 🤣😂🤣 Sometimes at crafting retreats I’ve attended we had to bring our own bedding and bath towels. See what I mean?!? I need to go to a stitching retreat!!!
Yes, Jackie you need to go to a stitching retreat stat p.r.n.!!!!!!! Even q.o.d.! (I used to work in a hospital) Good tip about the hand lotion and lip balm!!!! Those are musts!!!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Time to order Lori Holts Flea Market flowers...I’ve had the threads pulled for 2 weeks!! Thanks foe making my Sunday extra special. I’m watching this again for the 2nd time. So much fun 🤩
It's Deana from Kansas. I'm glad you liked your goodies. I'm stitching on Isabella as we speak. It's a lovely stitch and I've had your beautiful stitches to start me off. I'm enjoying it so much. And thanks ladies for another stitching time with you all. Always fun!!!

@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 You are most welcome!!! And yes I know - so many beautiful designs and samplers and more being released all the time. Love watching you guys and seeing what you have chosen. And it's so helpful to see your linen choices. It's hard to choose online without seeing it.

Thank you Suzanne! Yes...go surf shopping for some linen! It is so much fun to hunt it down and even more fun when you find some! Glad you are going to do the BBD SAL!!!!!!
Me too, I watch/listen the first time while I’m doing chores on a Saturday. Then have to go back on a ‘sit-down’ and give them both all my total attention, do you do that too?
Once again I saved this to watch on the 'off' Sunday because I like to anticipate things. I am not much of a stitcher (yet) but I was enabled by you two to buy the Floral Alphabet Sampler. If I actually complete it and it doesn't look awful I will likely send it to one of my sisters. I can see that it is beautiful but not quite my style although I am sure either of my sisters would love it. I also bought the kit because I know I will never spend the time in the store to pull the threads myself! Thanks ladies!
Thank you Denise!!!!!! I understand about the anticipation thing.....makes sense to me. That is so exciting that you are going to stitch that beautiful sampler for one of your sisters!!!! You might just want to keep it after you finish it!!! Hugs!!
Fab video as usual - it makes me want to hunt down more antique samplers now...! :D. I'm currently working on a gorgeous Scottish one that I cannot wait to share. Stitching the model first as it's got a couple of special stitches. And yay for Ceesie! :D
Yay for you Jacob!!! You bring such joy to so many!!!!! Can't wait to see your new sampler! Maybe you will do a video on how to do the specialty stitches?? Sometimes they scare me (Laura)!!!
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 Definitely will do that but they're not super complex: just a long-armed cross, a sort-of counted stem stitch, and eyelets - so they'll be super easy to explain in the booklet as well. I really need to sit down and do some proper tutorials. I've been saying it for ages but I've just been too busy :/ .... (excuses excuses I know...)
Enjoying you both on vacation in St. John, US Virgin Islands. On a sunny white sandy beach watching your floss tube!! Excited for the BBD Sal in 2 weeks. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Brenda: won’t your bosses wonder about that large paper and ink order post tax season? 🙄 Loved your video, as always. Who wouldn’t want to win time with you two! My first ever trip to The Attic was overwhelming! My sister came from CA for a visit and wouldn’t you know it, that very night I pulled a muscle in, around, wherever in my left knee. Got x-rays...nothing serious. That was Tuesday. Friday was our planned visit. Things didn’t work out but I was in the vicinity and couldn’t stand it....I had to go. Wow! You had inspired me to try a sampler so, I came home with Hannah Ann Wallace, 1850. Then, as promised, I we went to The Attic Saturday. I pushed through the pain and we were like kids in a candy store. Amazing. Both Jean and Caroline were there and such warm, lovely ladies, and Ann. You felt so special. I ordered The French Kitchen charts so will be back there when they arrive. Heard Jean talking about their Summer School. My sister wants us to go next year.
Oh my goodness!!!!! So glad to hear all about your trip to one of the best places on Earth!!! It sounds perfect!!!!!!! So glad you and your sister got to go Patricia!!
Thank you once again. Your flosstubes have so much information in them but it’s just like stitchers getting together and talking about what they love. Thanks for taking the time and sharing your excitement.

So enjoyed your podcast. Im a newbie. You showed such beautiful stuff wish you had show notes id loved to get some of those. You two are so enjoyable to watch. Hello from Ohio
Love catching up with you both every two weeks. You make my weekend. I have a golden anniversary cross stitch gift and quilt gift to finish this weekend but will join you next month for blackbird weekend. Planning on starting “For the Birds” as one huge piece.
I love watching all your videos, I never miss one, it’s a necessary treat for me every two weeks. Each video is so full of eye candy and inspiration. Thank you so much!
You guys are the best. I'm going to my first retreat this year too and this was great information for me. I really appreciate it. Now having said that, I think you guys are the only floss tube that I watch, that week after week, I actually have to take notes. So much good information! Thank you.
Thank you so much!! And so excited for you that you are going on your first retreat!!!! You are going to have the time of your life!!!!!! Being with other stitchers is so much fun!!!!
Thank you for the retreat tips, will put them to use if I ever get to a retreat. There was a Piggly Wiggly in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia 40 years ago when I lived there, not sure if it is still there. See you in two weeks for a fun stitch-a-long.

Okay - so I am stitching away on my focus piece for April (close to a finish of a page). I am gonna push to get it done by the end of this week soooooo I am going to treat myself and start a BBD! I have one kitted up (the Cardinal one whose name escapes me at the moment or I will see if I can get my Eleanor Rigby kitted up to start). And the first weekend of every month I will stitch on these two pieces with my lovely friends. You are both always so encouraging and inspiring and so very supportive of everyone in the industry. Thank you for everything you do! Lots of Love
Laura you make me laugh with your time frames (wanting to stitch something for eighty years/a hundred years). Thank you needed some laughter. Will be working on Sewing Club or Winds of Autumn ... want to do all the projects in both books. Will be half way through a move and staying at a hotel waiting for furniture delivery.
I’ve been checking regularly today to see if your video had been uploaded. I needed to watch it to complete my weekend and what a better way to do that than listening to friends chat. Fabulous as always ladies.
Hello girls, how are both? You both look great.💕 You know Laura being a serial starter is beginning to make sense. All the things you’ve started you have all the threads , and all the fabric. My idea of fabulous, you can sew whatever you like. You are both fantastic and I love you both xxxxxxxx
I loved catching up with you two! I'm debating on 3 for the BBD SAL (although after watching now I have a couple more I need to look into lol) Being a newer stitcher I feel I don't have enough to display so I have been working on smalls. I thought Hats Off to Uncle Sam, would be a good one to start the monthly SALs off with....but then Basket of Cherries caught my eye and I could make it a small...but then Spell of the Moon called my name. We shall see!! Thank you both for sharing your time and talents with us. I hope you have a wonderful couple of weeks.

I loved all your new stitchy goodies. I just had to order a couple of bags. The BBD SAL starts on my birthday, what a great way to spend my day stitching a long with friends.
Can’t wait for BBD weekend, and today it occurred to me (thank you, Brenda), that I probably should do a different BB start each day of the weekend. So I’m off to kit! Also, have been to three retreats now and never knew about the stitching mat one needs to have. Love that idea! Thanks for the fun video. 😊 - Sheri

Welcome to the world of stitching Cynthia!!!!!! You are going to have so much fun!!!!!!!!
Hello ladies! Love your WIPS, your haul is absolutely amazing and your finish Brenda is beautiful! Your earlier finishes are just beautiful! Lovely stitching! I look forward to watching you two on Sunday. Thank you for sharing your time and cross stitch with us.....Happy stitching! Have a great week!
Thank you so much for watching Karla!!!!!! and thank you for your kind words!
Black Dog Sampler is beautiful!! I also love the Flea Market Flowers - it's great to stitch whatever tickles our fancy and most of the time it is samplers for me, but every so often I get sidetracked. I am so excited about BB weekend and have everything/too many ready to go! It's such fun to see your previous stitches! Thanks as always and happy stitching!
Thank you Wanda!!!! So happy that you are getting all hepped up about the BBD weekend!!! So many choices!!
Thank you for the visit! Love you ladies and your beautiful work and stash:-) You both make my day!
Thank you so very much Ellen!!! Hugs!
Laughed out loud so many times! My sister and I love you and love watching you guys together...such awesome times! You're both wonderful
Thank you Beth!!!!!!! and hello to your sister! What fun that you can watch and stitch together!!!!
Your BBD weekend SAL will give me the push to start the anniversaries chart which is all kitted up ready to go.
Enjoy watching and thanks for sharing all that you do.
Yay!!!!!! That will be a wonderful start Jeannie!!!!!!
It would be so great to see pictures of the set ups each person has at retreats!! I’d love to see that!!!
Second that
When we get closer to going to a retreat I will remember to show our set ups!
You said you took a bunch of photos at other retreats, did you? Would love to see your old photos too!
Thank you!! I love all your buys, starts and finishes!
Thank you so much Sandy!!!!!! Hugs!!!
Time to order Lori Holts Flea Market flowers...I’ve had the threads pulled for 2 weeks!! Thanks foe making my Sunday extra special. I’m watching this again for the 2nd time. So much fun 🤩
Thank you so much Debbie!!!!!!! Glad you are getting Flea Market Flowers!!!!! It is so cool!
Thank you so so much for those beautiful stitching notions Deana!!!!!!!!!! We absolutely love them!!! So glad you are stitching on Isabella!!!!! I love her so much....need to restart mine still. There are so many samplers we must stitch!!! Hugs!!!
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 You are most welcome!!! And yes I know - so many beautiful designs and samplers and more being released all the time. Love watching you guys and seeing what you have chosen. And it's so helpful to see your linen choices. It's hard to choose online without seeing it.
I always look forward to your videos, you're both so funny & were meant to work together! You never seem to tire of finding something new for the rest of us to covet. Love all the stash & can't wait to join you in the BBD SAL weekend! Enjoy your day!
Thank you so much Linda!!!!!!!!! We sure are lucky to have stitching in our lives! It is endlessly entertaining!
Thanks for another great show, Brenda and Laura. Laura, I was so excited to see your start on Eleanor Steele. I’m stitching it now for my beautiful granddaughter Eleanor to mark her second birthday on July 8.
That is so wonderful Debra!!!!!!!! What a special sampler that will be!!! I am sure it will be treasured!
I always enjoy our visits! You ladies are amazing, and just fun to watch! Definitely enablers♥️💗♥️😊😊😊
Thank you so very much Christina!!!
love the krinkle, love the long videos, love all the stuff
Awwww!!! Thanks so much!!!!!!
I've never been to a stitching retreat, but if I ever do go to one, now I'll know what to bring. Thanks for that! Beautiful projects, patterns, and finishes, as always!
I hope you get to a stitching retreat ASAP Maureen!!!!!!! They are so much fun!!!!

Another great flosstube...you two are so much fun!
Thank you for sharing your projects, and wealth of info...I want to stitch everything you show...you two are the "the Enabler Queens"
Thank you Carol!!!!!!!! Hugs!
Many pause to purchase moments throughout this week's episode. Love seeing all your goodies and hearing about new people to check out.
Thanks so much Amie!!!
Laura, Innocence was so fun to stitch.
I am crazy for borders and this sampler is perfect. I love her charts and sampler choices.
Robin
Thanks Robin!!!! That sampler is just so breathtaking!
I always look forward to watching you guys! You are so uplifting! I loved the linen stash that you showed us! Some very great choices. Oh well, I guess I will have to go surf shopping... Look forward to watching you next time. I look forward to taking part in you Blackbird stitch!

Thank you Shelia!!!!!!! See you next Sunday!
I just love you ladies ! Your work is beautiful , your laughter makes me smile.
Thank you very very much Jackie!!!!
I always have to watch your videos twice because I’m “stitchin and listnin” 😂 thanks for sharing your stuff. 🤗
Thanks for watching Peg!!!
Me too,
I watch/listen the first time while I’m doing chores on a Saturday. Then have to go back on a ‘sit-down’ and give them both all my total attention, do you do that too?
@@Caitja for sure. And ... with a paper and pen as I want to stitch everything these two lovely ladies stitch. 😃
@@Caitja Thanks for watching Cait! That is so nice of you to go to all that trouble!
@@pegpage8618 There are so many great things to stitch right ???!!!
I cannot believe we were on a beach in St. John!!!!!!!!! Oh my stars!!!!!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you for another great video! I am now obsessed with Samantha Purdy's patterns.
Oh boy!!! That is exciting! I am glad you found them Caroline!!
I don’t get too much stitching done when I’m watching you two. I have to keep looking up to see all your projects 💁🏻♀️Love, love your videos.
Thank you Maria!!! We hope the trade off is worth it!
Brenda: won’t your bosses wonder about that large paper and ink order post tax season? 🙄
Loved your video, as always.
Thank you so much Mary Ellen!!!!!!! That is so kind of you to say!
Great haul! I love the red squirrels, rabbits and hedgehog motif!
Thank you Cynthia!!!
I started my visit with you both this morning and then with family to visit with I’m now in the evening. I’m looking forward to BBD weekend 😊 So love seeing how your stitching progress is coming along and those cute project bags. Blessings and happy stitching ladies.
Thank you very much Clare!!!!!!!
Thank you for another great video. I love seeing all your projects.
Thank you for watching!!!!!! I started watching your latest video yesterday and need to watch more this weekend! Your finishes are wonderful!!!!!!
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 thank you! I love watching you two as well. I have learned so much and found so many samplers I want to stitch.
I've been to a couple of retreats and enjoyed looking at everyone's set up. Appreciate the tips on what to bring and having a fill in project is genius! Have a great week! We have snow in the forecast but looking it as an excuse to stay in and stitch.
Thank you Roberta!! Hope you had a good snow day yesterday!
Thank you Maria!!!! Yes, catch up with us next month! I have that project started and am on block two. It is so cool!
Thank you Laura. I love your first “for the birds” cross stitch, that’s what caught my attention. Have a fab #bbdweekendsal 💜💜
I love watching all your videos, I never miss one, it’s a necessary treat for me every two weeks. Each video is so full of eye candy and inspiration. Thank you so much!
Awwww.....thank you so much Lorraine!!!!! Hugs!
Another great time spent with you. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for watching Theresa!!!!
Thanks for the cheer me up! Have a great week!😊
Thanks for watching Cheryl!!! Hope you have a great week too!!!!
Thank you for the retreat tips, will put them to use if I ever get to a retreat. There was a Piggly Wiggly in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia 40 years ago when I lived there, not sure if it is still there. See you in two weeks for a fun stitch-a-long.
I can't believe there is/was a Piggly Wiggly in Australia!!!!! See you now in one week or so for our BBD SAL!! Thanks Rosie!
The first time I watched you it was #1 and you mentioned BB ooh la la book never heard of it but I bought it and and loved it and your videos .I crossstitch for the pleasure of it and it is so enjoyable.tks for all the good stuff you show 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂💖💖💖💖😍😍😍
Thank you so much Nancy!!!! So glad you got that BBD book...it is one of the best!!!!!
That is so great Tammy!!!!!!!!!! Yes, we will all be stitching together as friends! For sure!!!!! Let us know which one you start!!! Hugs!
I do tend to get dramatic with time frames!!!! Hope your move goes off without a hitch Beth!!!!! Glad you have some stitching ready for that hotel!!!!
I am so excited about the upcoming Blackbird SAL!!! Thank you ladies for doing this!
We are thankful for a viewer who had the great idea!!! But so excited to talk about it and do it!! Thanks Diana!
I’ve been checking regularly today to see if your video had been uploaded. I needed to watch it to complete my weekend and what a better way to do that than listening to friends chat. Fabulous as always ladies.
Thanks so much Kath!!!! I love to listen to people talk about stitching! Sometimes I eavesdrop at stitching shops to hear stitch talk!
Hello girls, how are both? You both look great.💕
You know Laura being a serial starter is beginning to make sense. All the things you’ve started you have all the threads , and all the fabric.
My idea of fabulous, you can sew whatever you like.
You are both fantastic and I love you both xxxxxxxx
Thank you so much Jane!!!!!!! We are sending hugs to you!!!!
I loved catching up with you two!
I'm debating on 3 for the BBD SAL (although after watching now I have a couple more I need to look into lol)
Being a newer stitcher I feel I don't have enough to display so I have been working on smalls.
It is so hard to pick just one!!!! Maybe start 2 or 3 then you can rotate them around as the mood strikes!!!! Thank you for your kind words!!!
Be inspired...I am!!!😜 The Scarlett House ...the Floral sampler...must have!! Stitch Folk...gotta get a bag of two!! Ladies just keep me spending those retirement dollars!! Love you ladies!!HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY IN 2021!!
Thank you Karen!!!!! There are so many great things out there and we need them all!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness, I had to stop every 2 minutes to search for a new (to me) pattern, shop, designer, etc. I was going to subscribe to your channel, but I don't think I can afford it. LOL Oh well, you only live once and my children (sons) have long known they will one day inherit my creative collection. Thank you for spreading the love to so many people. I especially love all the fabric you showed. The nearest needlework shop to where I live is 90 miles away.
Thank you Heather!!!!! Sorry about the temptation...but we simply cannot be alone in this we must have new recruits! Glad you at least can get to a LNS within two hours!!!! Just in case of emergency!
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 enabling is a good thing when it comes to cross stitch. ;)

Amazing is all I can say!! I love my Sunday afternoons with you both!!
Thank you so much Janice!!!!!
Great video. Your WIPS are just beautiful...can’t wait to see them FFO. I d love to see a video of how you both stitch on higher count fabric. I stitch on Aida 14, 16 and 18 count😊
Thanks Deana!!!!! Unfortunately, I don't think we have the technology to show a stitching video, but the key is good lighting and magnification!!! Otherwise, forget it!!!
Great. Video! Love all your projects
Thank you so much Louise!
Always a pleasure. Thank you for taking your time to visit. May 1 is my birthday. Great day to work on my Anniversary of the Heart
That will be perfect Patti!!!!!!!!! Wishing you a happy birthday!!!
I loved all your new stitchy goodies. I just had to order a couple of bags. The BBD SAL starts on my birthday, what a great way to spend my day stitching a long with friends.
Thanks Marie!!! That is great that it will be your birthday when the BBD stitching starts!!!!! We will be sending Happy Birthday wishes to you!
You two made my day! Always love spending time with you. I have never stitched a Blackbird but I'm joining in on May 1 and 2 to start one!
I am so excited that you are going to start a BBD Robbie!!!!!!!! Let us know which one you start!!!!!
😊 - Sheri
Thanks Sheri!!! I like the way you are thinking about new starts each day of the weekend!!!!
SO many beautiful things to stitch. Lori Holt says she has a '400 year' stitching/quilting plan, maybe more of us have one, too!
For sure Jeanne!!!! We all definitely need a 400 year plan!
Thank you, Brenda, Laura (and Mike).
Thank you Darlene!!!!
Ducks bought - samplers ordered, silk ordered - you enablers, you!!! :)
Yay Kelly!!!!!!!!!!!!! You did good!
Squeal!!! You said my name! woo hoo! I love seeing all the projects you guys showed, and am trying to decide what to start on the Blackbird weekend... too many choices! I may just have to do it every weekend in May... So happy everyone is jumping onto the Blackbird SAL weekend and so nice of you guys also to consider it! And thanks so much for doing these videos, I love every one of them.
Thank you so very much Theresa!!!!!!! Your idea of the BBD weekend SAL was brilliant and just remember you started this whole thing!!!! There are so many choices!!!!! Hugs!
You guys cracked me up over the 3 syllable pronunciation of the Piggly Wiggly which I’ve seen here in Oklahoma. I love you both!
Mike Duet immediately notified me that I added a syllable!!!! Hah!!!! I just cannot get over the hilariousness of that name! I wish we had them here! Thanks Debra!
I just started "Alice Bierton 1885" on Xjudesigns "Old Mushroom" 40 count with red Gloriana Silks. The reason I started it was because I thought the fabric would be perfect, and it is, and I'm obsessed! Enjoy all of your new goodies! XOXO Sharon
