I have an HP 8657B synthesiser that displays very similar symptoms to your 3336A (output jumps between more or less fixed frequencies as you increase the frequency setting) so I’ll be very interested to see how you tackle the repair.
Thanks. I have had one or two over the years and sold them before I found out how versatile they were. Back then I had a 42S and didn't need an additional calculator. I'm currently on the look out for the HP-IL to HP-IB interface so I can experiment with instrument control via the 41CX.
@@CraigPetersen12f36b that would be a great video. As a hobbyist I struggle along with the programming of hp-ib I can do the basic reading. Thanks for the great videos.
Hi, I have exactly problems and same output behaviour on my HP3335A. Now the display problems have all been sorted so I have the display. It remains the output problem giving exactly same output in frequencies as in yours 22.5Mhz 44. etc... and no output on the other ranges. I noticed that I do not have voltages (20V un. and 15V+ going to the Ref. Oven board) and thus I have the unlocked msg. Can you please let me know how you sorted the problem on your unit?
Thanks for watching. I haven't serviced this unit yet and it is still on my "to be repaired shelf". I was just thinking about this unit the other day, I was able to find a N step loop card for a good price and swapped it out with the card that I suspected may have some sort of fault. Unfortunately, it didn't change and was still displaying the same issues. I also suspect that the fault may be in the summation loop since there are two VCO's on this board and one of them may not be locking properly. I was able to finally find some riser cards for this instrument and I am just waiting for them to arrive.

Love the HP calculator on the bench. You have exceptional taste.
