    46:20 Is something breathtaking! I love it when a melody is played over a drone like that! Great job Daniel! Going to purchase altiverb as soon as I have the money for it. I have experiemented with Spaces and Virtual Sound Stage, but this looks the most promising.

      +Daniel James hey dan, do you remember that during stream on skype I asked about beginner series tutorials? (probably not)...Just wanted to remind it to you in case you were too drunk. As we both mentioned, you should do delay, reverb and compression.

      Daniel James I know, iam a musician myself, i just wanted to tell him cz he probably didn´t notice. I really like the color of your voice and i had singing lessons some years myself, so i know how hard it is to sing like this. It sounded like you could sing really great without Autotune, thats why i said sadly, but if u had no warmup i can totally understand. I really love your stuff btw, keep up doing! ( I hope everything was understandable, iam from germany so sry if i missed anything)

    You just rediscovered the Altiverb for me! I'm full of inspiration... Thank you, Daniel!
    I just wanted to add, that using the Altiverb XL in 5.1 mode, even in stereo projects gives much more realistic quality of the reverb. The difference is impressing.

      Is it worth it even if you only have stereo speakers? @@CyrilleBoucanogh

    • @CyrilleBoucanogh
      @CyrilleBoucanogh 10 місяців тому

      @@alyctro8158 it depends on the IRs you'll use with it. I noticed that with all live rooms, concert halls, churches 8-channel impulse responses on stereo speakers sound way more accurate, cleaner and real. You can test it. Write a letter to Audio Ease and tell them you want to try XL version. They'll send you a 14 days trial license. You can compare both modes and decide. Even stereo (2.0) IRs sound different on 5.1 bus -- not always better but different.

    A nicely detailed insight into your composing. Getting great sounds which inspire you to play around with melodic ideas is 80% of the process.
    The effect of the combined early and late reflections along with being able to set the spatial placement makes a simple drum pattern sound amazing.
    Just wondering. Have you ever thought about composing some New Age/Neo-Classical stuff - original material - and selling CD's of it? Bet you could make a tidy profit.

    Great stuff, thanks for sharing your talent with us!
    I have some questions:
    1. is there any video where you show how you created the Ableton template you are using in this video? It amazes me, how fast you switch between instruments, layer sounds or make advantage of the keyboard split (is it even split, or does it just come from natural ranges in frequency of the different instruments?)
    2. Do you use some kind of "scale tool" for playing (for example at 1:16:30), setting the keys of your keyboard to play only a chosen scale?
    3. How long did it take you to reach this high level of skill, and how did you achieve it? Did you study music?
    Keep up the great work!

    • @GingerDrums
      @GingerDrums 5 років тому

      There is nothing intrinsically wrong with feeding reverb into reverb, the instruments will simply get farther away. It may not be as "natural" as if you are using one coherent room, but we are not always looking for the most natural sound. With any of those types of questions, the answer will invariably be a "it depends" in one form or another. What do your ears tell you?

    • @benhicksmusic
      @benhicksmusic 8 років тому

      +Matiss DeMars +Ashton Dean Gleckman I think he's wondering more about how he goes about setting it up so that they keep sustaining while still enabling him to switch instruments to improvise on top of them. The way I would always have to do it would be to record something in and loop it. He seems to bypass that method and have patches instantly sustain/loop forever without recording them. I'm curious to know how he does this as well.

    • @onsitegallery
      @onsitegallery 8 років тому

      In piano roll, use grab tool on note,...and stretch it out for a zillion bars...
      Or play the chord and switch tracks before releasing keys.
      Probably many other ways too.

    • @PinkLunchbox6
      @PinkLunchbox6 7 років тому

      if your keyboard lets you have 3 pedals plugged in, or lets you program what the pedal does, you can use it as a 'sostenuto pedal', which will only sustain the note(s) you were playing when you first push it down and not anything afterwards, from what I understand, that's just one idea though I'm not sure if that's how he does it

    At 2:28:45 He says it doesn't go down that low, Im relatively new to messing around with strings in vst's and have run into the same problem of "It doesn't go down that low". Is there any way I can make it so I can use my full keyboard?

    • @TheHuBBaOfficial
      @TheHuBBaOfficial 7 років тому

      Well 5 month late reply :D Sure. Don't use a library meant to mimick the real thing. Problem with this is if you ever want to score for an orchestra, and you use synthesized strings that play out of the instruments actual range. You will end up with a score that no real orchestra can actually play.

    • @ImWagon
      @ImWagon 7 років тому

      Henrik Bengtsson Ahh ty, I wrote that when I was messing with a trial of adagio, It was the free trial for a violin ensemble. I was finding It frustrating I could follow along with an actual score with an ensemble then it would go out of the range. I guess thats all I could get with the free trial. :/

I just want to know what are your PC configurations and how do you manage CPU and memory for heavy projects and kontakt libraries like Hans Zimmer's percussion. My laptop just crashes when i load a heavy library. What is the best configuration should i have to not to let my PC crash. I think you should make a video on it separately, it would be lot of help for young producers who crave to be like you. Please revert. Love from India.
