    Hello ! thank you for sharing your experience. I also applied for the GKSP last year and did not even pass the first round. Hopefully this year I will make some progress ! Congratulations though on getting this scholarship. I can relate on the part of rejection and the SKY part. As I heard through a friend of mine who is also applying for the shcolarship, getting into SKY is a litlle bit hard but not impossible. Thankfully, where I am from we only have the embassy track to apply so I have to choose three universities among the list.

    Dear Arma, thank you so much for making this sharing video. It was helpful to me a lot as I plan to apply for GKS scholarship again this year. I fail last year so this year I would like to give it a try again. However, I got some questions to ask you as well:
    1. When you submit for the second year to apply for a scholarship, will you use the old documents (Transcript, bachelor's certificate, and birth certificate apostille ) or take all mentioned documents to apostille again?
    2. How do you convert your score to CGPA?
    Highly appreciated for your response. Thanks

    The feelings you got after rejection were exactly as mine. I got a rejection email last week. I can say that I accepted the rejection after two days, but I'm really lost. I want to apply again, but I'm just confused about the things I have to do in order to strengthen my application for next year. Some things like language proficiency tests and learning Korean are obvious. But my biggest issue is the lack of research in my application. I'm applying for phd and, for some reasons, I can't publish anything. People keep blaming me that I don't make efforts to publish, but they just don't understand my situation. So my question is: can this lack of publications in my application be a reason for my rejection?

    • @armantellas
      @armantellas  2 роки тому +3

      Hello, I personally think that the lack of publications is not related to the rejection for the phd program. From all the phd students that I met, none of them had published anything before applying for the program.

    And another question. For the notarize/apostilled documents. If they have already been certified (like when they were made), do I need to get them newly certified or no need?
    Another question came to mind. I'm so Sorry. They just pop in my head.. it was about experience in unis in Korea... I've heard foreigners don't get good treatment there..many universities just accept to improve their ranking and they don't pay enough attention as they should to them. Ofc not for all unis but generally. What your take on that?

      Hello, Umer,
      The first semester in Korea is spring. But graduate degree GKS scholars start their studies in fall. I guess it's a bit more free in the graduate schools.
      For the apostilled documents, I heard that if the document is apostilled, there is no need to certify it again. But I cannot be 100% sure, I submitted each document certified separately, I did not have any apostilles. You should contact NIIED directly about that.
      Regarding the treatment of foreigners, I guess it depends a lot on the university, and even in the university different departments can differ a lot. I cannot speak of all universities and all departments, but the department of my major in my university is quite friendly and helpful. Regarding the attention, everyone is treated equally and no one does anything for ourselves, we have to figure out everything (I mean regarding administrative matters, such as the submission of different documents or registering for classes and so on).

      @@umerarif8128 For undergraduate, spring semester.
      For part-time jobs, it's complicated. During the semester, you are allowed only according to your major and only in the campus (which might be complicated). During vacation period, you can work more freely, but you need to get the permission from the Immigration Office. I don't know many KGSP scholars who are working, to be honest. Because there are tons of rules and regulations.
      Grades are important, but not the most important thing. I think extra-curricular activities matter, like volunteering or community service.
