What I love about the music in the Azula vs zuko fight, is that it's sad. This isn't some triumph over evil, it's a brother and sister forced to fight each other because of their father.
The Soundtrack is call the Last agni kai, because after the war, firelord zuko banned this fights, which means the Last agni kai was between two siblings for the crown
I love the look of shock on Ozai's face when Aang redirects his lightning, because the only other person he's seen do that move is Zuko. The last time he saw Zuko, he was saying he was going to join the Avatar, so when Aang did that move, Ozai knew that his son really went through with it.
It's more than that, if he would have treated his son better, then he would have won the Avatar would have been dead in world domination would have been his. His defeat was literally his own doing.
I will NEVER get over how the move that broke Azula's momentum was that breakdance fire circle, something Zuko used in his duel against Zhao way back in season one. We don't see any other firebender use this type of defensive move, so it can be assumed he made it up himself, having had to mostly fight and claw his way through life.
That is a good catch. I loved that, if you watch Zuko's fighting style throughout the fight with Azula, he uses elements of all four nations fighting style. Sometimes he takes her assaults head on, like an Earthbender. Others, he is fluid and uses her own attacks against her like an Airbender. His ability to redirect lightning is clearly Waterbending, and his new mastery of firebending allows him much more control over his own Firebending. He really took Iroh's lessons to heart and shows that he was really watching and learning from the others as he was teaching Aang.
Another fun fact (at least I remember hearing about it): that break dance move Zuko did during Agni Kai was replicating a move Dante can do. That was literally fire!
@@flyingchong I read about it too. It must be true, then. Dante Basco does know breakdance moves.. Plus it's taken from airbending's circular moves as well. Double move!
Eh, not really anything to do with air ending movements. Zuko did his break dance move in S1E3 against he Kyoshi warriors. It's Zuko's being authentic to himself here, that causes him to win against Azula (before she cheats).
To remember at the Azula fight, she is still only 14 years old. This is not a cruel and evil adult but a broken child who never really stood a chance at a normal life. The music is no mistake, this is not some glorious showdown but a tragedy, another life destroyed by Ozai.
"I can't believe the capitan remembered my birthday! He really does care! :D" The background characters in this show are my favorite 🤣 In less than 1 minute they become more relatable than most protagonists
Notice how Zuko took from all four bending arts in his fight against Azula... Staying on the same spot and blocking like an earthbender, switching from defense to offense in flowing motions like a waterbender, jumping and evading like an airbender, all added to his firebending.
It doesn't show in the video, but after Zuko took the shot of lightning, there was a shot of lightning sent upwards. So, he did redirect it, but he took it through his heart, not his stomach, which could be fatal, according to Uncle. Zuko took a shot of lightning for a southern water nation peasant, the complete opposite of who he was at the start of the series.
Katara is the daughter of a Chieftain of the Southern Water Tribe (and Sokka succeeded his father), she is not a literal peasant. Zuko only called her when he knew next to nothing about her.
@@ayoa1173even sokka admits there just peasants when talking to yue, he originally says he's like a prince but then speaks the truth and says "your a princess and im just a peasant".

Azula vs Zuko is by far the definition the tables have been turned. This scene even made my parents quiet and zoned in really showing how well made this series was
a small detail I always love is how Jeong Jeong uses his fire bending. remember how he said he was jealous of water bender ? well he modeled his fire bending style after them, using huge wave of fire, really obvious in this scene when he attack right after master Paku
OH MAN can’t believe we’re actually here. Been checkin your channel for these uploads since like the start of book 2 and you’re finally here to see this masterpiece. Can’t wait for the next episode fr
At the end of the day it's about the people around you that will do things for you out of love. Azula was left with people doing things out of fear, and isn't that one of the scariest things... because they will all one day talk to each other and plot and scheme to get rid of the lone sun king.
one of the best parts in zuko vs azula is the fact you can see how much better zuko is than her in the way that he uses techniques from different bending styles like air bending and also that while she's out of breath he breathes calmly showing he has way better control over his fire
Azula never tired before when she against Aang even the Aang's movement much more complex as an airbender. With her mental state, she was doing amazing, I'm very sure she could knocked out both Zuko & Katara when in sane state
I just dont understand why did Katara just decide to stood behind Zuko like that when Azula was about to shoot a fkn lighting. The only reason I could think of is just for the plot.
I am convinced that Azula's fire is blue purely because of this fight. The comet boosted Agni Kai is perhaps the most beautiful animation ever put to screen.
The song is muted for the Zuko azula fight and the difference is breathing. The sound is muted because the oxygen is pushing so much out into flame that every inhale is basically taken in the quiet inbetween rests. When they both blast at each other and break it’s azula who is panting trying to even herself and regain composure - zuko was never pushed to panting he’s able to evenly talk through what’s happening. Zuko learned breathing from Iroh but only learned how to live like an air bender with air and let breath and air flow not control or contain it. Ozai and Azula both don’t manage their breathing (ozai gasps) and they want to stop all airbenders and cut off the fire nation from the knowledge of air circulation. Iroh highlights the importance and balance of all 4 nations in harmony and using other bending to better one’s own. Lighting is from water lava is from earth and strength/duration relies on using your breath and air pressure and air temperatures and having control not only with oneself but how one moves through spaces - the dragon dance is most similar to air bending circular motion because it’s fire in relation to open air. (a flame in a vacuum is just a ball to get a point or flare or flame that not just round you need power and direction and burn off. The flame can flicker with the wind or be blown out or it can catch the wind and engulf or spread) Azula is a fire bender who’s master fire which burns hot, Zuko is a fire bender that mastered fire that’s fanned, The fire nation is known for its dances - dancing is to just take up space and have fun and make sound and breathe with the steps and enjoy it - as aang states multiple times the fire nation is for dancing and fun food and parties! dragons are why fire isn’t contained in a box, it’s meant to be danced jumped and run away from. It’s ferocious and powerful but can’t be limited to just a candle/fireplace/torch/inside a house/in a kiln/in a furnace even if that’s the purpose men dictate for it to have and the limited amount of power given to feed it (ozai wanted fire everywhere existing in all space, he wanted his fire to take all the space all his space. Azula however can’t use her fire unless it’s in/for a palace/territory her fire is always confined which is why it may burn so hot.she’s locked up and her fire has always be snuffed/tapped down forcing it to burn hotter and move faster in the limited space given. An Agni Kai is a timed event in limited space from a child to adult she should be perfect at the the fact that she is constantly unsteady on her feet as the leader of a nation who’s known to be carefree and dance is not true to what’s best for the individual or the country. Zuko was the only one who took dance lessons was confident not only in himself but confident in his steps in designated areas or in open spaces - he can dance and change on a dime and let things blow past him without concern he’s steady on his feet and steady with the beat and steady with his breaths) he’s given space and dancing partners and the ability to move and act and be silly or serious and expressive Azula isn’t and it results in her boxing herself in beating her of up and pressuring herself till she boils over and gets diffused.
When Ozai saw how aang redirected the lightning he knew his son went Through him just as he said “I’ll join the Avatar” Because the only one who did this was his son Ozai wasn’t only fighting The avatar he was fighting his son It’s poetic
Zuko vs Azula is a fight of someone who lost everything they had and gained something new in return vs someone who had everything for them, but lost it all and then lost themself
I was really hoping that the live action of Avatar will give justice to this scene, or might as well, at least, don't skip this part. The Agni Kai is one of the greatest scenes in the series. Anyway, i can't wait til' you guys upload The Legend of Korra. It's gonna be another amazing Avatar series.
8:47 Remember the prison break episode, and you asked how Azula learned the "Iron Man" technique? I guess we know who taught it to her 🤔 9:24 It's also the same as the statue in the episode where Katara and Toph got captured 😉
Finally, some people who realize that Zuko would actually have won that fight. He's been taught sacred firebending by the dragons - the literal masters of firebending - and probably the only other person apart from Aang and Iroh to know the true meaning of firebending and what it's fuelled by. Yes, she can generate lightning, but Zuko can redirect it, something Azula can't do, so if she shot lightning at him and he redirected it towards her, if she wouldn't dodge, it's game over. Why do you think Azula even went for Katara to begin with? It's because she was out of ideas and needed a last resort
I loved the reaction I also think since azula thinks her mom doesn’t love her but she’s tried Soo much to be perfect for her father she let that overshadow her mother
oh jeez the full one already or... Just all the Azula that's about to happen - I'm pre-hurt (and the start of the comet where he does that breath in and just flamethrowers the lab 1:55 the animation here on the land and catch Azula banishments... When a girl cuts her own bangs u know sanity has left the building and drama and chaos have just moved in😅
I love your hype! Those last episodes are just epic. All of it. The strength of the old masters, Azula losing it, Zuko's sacrifice, Toph being an absolute legend... I can't wait for the finale ❤️
This episode might be one of the greatest pieces of animation ever created
It's worth watching the full uncut Agni Kai on the official ATLA UA-cam channel. There's also a lot of fan pages that have made full/extended versions of the music track they use that you can listen to. I'm glad we got to see you guys appreciate many fans' favorite scene in all of TV.
Man..I always think back to when I was 12 watching on the edge of my seat...absolutely nuts and back then when it premiered it was all one continuous episode so it was nonstop
I live seeing Ozai's look of fear when Aang redirected the lightning. He saw that and he knew Zuko kept his promise in teaching Aang
You said “every clash of fire is like a clash of beliefs” that’s an amazing way to put it wow
I don't know if you guys know this yet. But the voice of Ozai is the one and only Mark Hamill. Also love this fight, glad you guys got to experience it in all its glory!
Azula vs Zuko is by far the definition the tables have been turned. This scene even made my parents quiet and zoned in really showing how well made this series was
gotta respect that Dai-Li professionalism tho lol, despite just getting randomly banned they left that throneroom in coordinated style.
a small detail I always love is how Jeong Jeong uses his fire bending. remember how he said he was jealous of water bender ? well he modeled his fire bending style after them, using huge wave of fire, really obvious in this scene when he attack right after master Paku
Sokka: "take the wheel"
Toph: "oh great, the blind girl drive"
I’m so hyped for you guys!! The battles are so well written and emotional! Cant wait to see the next video
one of the best parts in zuko vs azula is the fact you can see how much better zuko is than her in the way that he uses techniques from different bending styles like air bending and also that while she's out of breath he breathes calmly showing he has way better control over his fire
Azula never tired before when she against Aang even the Aang's movement much more complex as an airbender. With her mental state, she was doing amazing, I'm very sure she could knocked out both Zuko & Katara when in sane state
You can see how much zuko has improved in his fire bending as you can see that he's using a bunch of water bending and air bending techniques
finally someone who understand the significance of the last agnikai track, what a beauty
Zuko actually did redirect it
Azula's defeat was very cathartic and I was not expecting that.
Beginning Sokka: "you can't fight firebenders with fun!"
Ending Sokka: *uses a prank to disarm a war ship*
Almost done with this series and it makes me so happy and sad at the same time 😂
I'm JUST hearing it. Ozai is the Finn's stomach demon from Adventure Time💀
YESSIRRRRR ANOTHER W UPLOAD
Why did the lightning in kataras eyes make me tear up? Ive watched that fight a million times and never felt that way
I just dont understand why did Katara just decide to stood behind Zuko like that when Azula was about to shoot a fkn lighting. The only reason I could think of is just for the plot.
It was poetic justice when Zuko taunted Azula for a change. Their positions have reversed, now it is Azula who is unfocused and driven by rage.
I am convinced that Azula's fire is blue purely because of this fight. The comet boosted Agni Kai is perhaps the most beautiful animation ever put to screen.
that knock is my favorite scene of al the series xD Toph gets me rolling every time with this
Ngl crazy azula makes me feel things😅
Zuko was never afraid of Azula, she was just stronger
I remember watching this when it came out and had to wait for the last episode come out LUL, this episode is one of the best
Last episode, I WANT IT NOW
The song is muted for the Zuko azula fight and the difference is breathing.
The flame can flicker with the wind or be blown out or it can catch the wind and engulf or spread)
Azula is a fire bender who’s master fire which burns hot,
Zuko is a fire bender that mastered fire that’s fanned,
The fire nation is known for its dances - dancing is to just take up space and have fun and make sound and breathe with the steps and enjoy it - as aang states multiple times the fire nation is for dancing and fun food and parties!
dragons are why fire isn’t contained in a box, it’s meant to be danced jumped and run away from. It’s ferocious and powerful but can’t be limited to just a candle/fireplace/torch/inside a house/in a kiln/in a furnace even if that’s the purpose men dictate for it to have and the limited amount of power given to feed it
(ozai wanted fire everywhere existing in all space, he wanted his fire to take all the space all his space.
I was waiting for this!!
When Ozai saw how aang redirected the lightning he knew his son went Through him just as he said
“I’ll join the Avatar”
Because the only one who did this was his son
Ozai wasn’t only fighting The avatar he was fighting his son
It’s poetic
Zuko vs Azula is a fight of someone who lost everything they had and gained something new in return vs someone who had everything for them, but lost it all and then lost themself
I was really hoping that the live action of Avatar will give justice to this scene, or might as well, at least, don't skip this part. The Agni Kai is one of the greatest scenes in the series. Anyway, i can't wait til' you guys upload The Legend of Korra. It's gonna be another amazing Avatar series.
8:47 Remember the prison break episode, and you asked how Azula learned the "Iron Man" technique? I guess we know who taught it to her 🤔
9:24 It's also the same as the statue in the episode where Katara and Toph got captured 😉
Dude my parents walked in when he said this😂😂 10:59
It can't get any more epic than "The last agni kai" it is literally peak cinema.
Lol 🤣🤣I was concentrating when the episode ended. Guys you scared me!😂🤭
I loved the reaction I also think since azula thinks her mom doesn’t love her but she’s tried Soo much to be perfect for her father she let that overshadow her mother
Ngl Toph climbing on the ceiling was creepy but cool.
oh jeez the full one already or...
Just all the Azula that's about to happen - I'm pre-hurt
(and the start of the comet where he does that breath in and just flamethrowers the lab
1:55 the animation here on the land and catch
Azula banishments...
And Toph metal suit
3:17 i hadnt thought about the comets influence

14:05 the height
the ADS oof
14:23 Vulnerable expression
14:48 I always loved this, tho he hardly does the spin
And I love that it's the move that trips her
15:08 the tone
15:38 evil or deranged mm
15:45 oh here we go
Pre0are to dIE
This section
16:18 okay that's what I thought
For sure the betrayal of her closest friends in the boiling water prison episode helped turn azula into a overly suspicious of everyone schizophrenic
Now we are on par with the future vision of the ember play from a few episodes ago. 🤣
the only thing i wish they would have shown is that Zuko is able to bend several colours of fire because he learned from the dragons, that would have made this even more cool, but i like the blue red contrast as well!
thanks for keep the complete escenes
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
i know im a year late but Prez just referenced hitman reborn which i thought almost no one would do. Crazzyyyy
Best reactions ever
My favorite episode of the whole series.
great reaction as always ♥

YYYEEEEEEAAAAASSS FIRE DADDY❤🔥💪
the last agni kai is the best, it is perfect and everything in it hits just right
The Final Agni Kai has the same emotional weight to it as Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader on the second Death Star.
what a journey. final ep is fire
