    I was born and raised in Fremont, and lived there for the first 29 years (now in Castro Valley). My parents bought their house in 1957 when it was brand new for $9950 (a shoe box of a house) that sold in 2021 for $921,000!
    I can vouch that everything mentioned in this video is true about Fremont.

    Fremont use to not be a bad place to live, now it's just an overcrowded mess! With way too much development ! Way too much traffic! And Way too many people! Somewhere along the way? This place city lost its way! Think from poor leadership!

    • @RichFlemingRealtor
      @RichFlemingRealtor  2 роки тому +4

      Fremont's challenges are similar to the rest of the Bay Area's. And the root cause of these problems is NIMBYism. You can complain about development and too many people, but in the USA, you can't prevent people from moving where they want. If you don't plan and develop for it, you end up with challenges like the Bay Area has.

      I wanted to agree but then thought about it and now I do not agree at all. I thought about BigSur, I thought about the beaches of San Deigo in La Joya, I thought about Taho and the Sierra mountains and the ski resorts, I thought about the Red Wood forests In Marin and north of it, I though about the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma, and the breath taking Berkeley hills. I though about Highway 1 and other scenic roads, The wide remote farmlands of central Cali, etc... When it comes to the cities Yes, other than San Francisco they don't have much, but the state as whole, there is no state that can compare in the entire country.

    There are problems with crime in Fremont. Moved out 20 years ago, after dealing with gang problems, shootings, and drug dealers.
    You also forgot to mention the 2 earthquakes fault that run through the City: San Andreas and Hayward. Many of the vital facilites: hospitals, BART, etc. are built directly on the fault. The old City Hall is also built on the fault.
    Many houses, especially older ones, are also within a mile of the Hayward fault line.

    • @RichFlemingRealtor
      @RichFlemingRealtor  4 місяці тому

      I actually did a video on natural hazards in the Bay Area and covered the earthquake faults. I don't usually bring the faults up in my videos because all of the cities from Fremont to Hercules along 580/880/80 are on the faults. It's just part of living in the Bay Area. If you moved out 20 years ago, you may not be fully versed on the crime situation in Fremont. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    Con; Take a ride on BART from Warm Springs station north, and get a window seat so you can view the scenery along the right of way, or go to Lake Elizabeth for a walk, and see the homeless sleeping on the park benches...the ones that are drooling are the addicts.

      Ransome! The condo market in Fremont has definitely coooled somewhat. Condos/Townhomes almost always feel negative market shifts more than detached homes. PLEASE NOTE that if you are going to use a VA loan to buy a condo, the condo development MUST be VA approved. If you want to talk about the details, reach me via text/call at 925.386.2999. Nice, but EXPENSIVE!
    I’ve lived here for 55 years and have seen the housing prices rise dramatically over the years.
    Again, it is nice and if you can afford it then it may be for you.

    Grew up on farwell and went to Kennedy high school, I'd say north of Thornton ave close to union city has the most crime / ghetto activities , Mainly in north gate and Cabrillo. I saw the city shift from a lot of Mexican people moving out / Asians and Indians moving in because they have tech jobs in the Silicon Valley of downtown SF

    If you want to move to Fremont bring lots of MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$$$ 😐 Homes start at $1.5 M.......... Traffic, stay off the surface streets during commute hours.... Traditionally Fremont has always been known as a "Bedroom Community".... A/C Transit SUCKS in Fremont..... Irvington was never a town.... I was a printing error on a train menu.... You forgot Washington Township and Centerville.
