Great job of combing two types of wood together Daniel. Looks fantastic. Strangely enough I was given a number of burls yesterday and some are on the small side. Looks to me that some might become a base for a vase! I like what you have done with this piece. Gary
I have to admit I can hardly wait to turn some of these. One problem is they seemed to have been in a burn pile. They came from a farm where they pulled out all their English Walnut trees because walnuts were not selling very well. I got some of the English Walnut that had not been burned back then and was just offered these burls that have been stored for that long. It was my nephews in-laws place so I will try and get the story on them before turning as well. The story should make them even more interesting.
Really nice, Daniel. The woods have great contrast. The walnut color was interesting, too. I've been following Billy for a long time (on both of his channels). Where's Hodge's sticker on your lathe? Bill
That piece of burl would have had me scratching my head just trying to work out how to use it, but you have produced yet another beautiful result. Well done, from top to bottom, and the cracks as well!
Thank you for the kind words! I spent a good amount of time trying to wrap my mind around what I wanted as well, sonI was really glad that it worked out the way I envisioned!
Very nice. When your video popped up and I saw the 2 pieces sitting on the lathe I thought for sure it was going to involve resin casting. Well done! 😊
Not gonna lie, saw all the hot glue and flinging bur - thought Frankenstein for sure…but man, great piece this week.
Thanks, John. Funny that my fear was the forstner throwing it and it never even budged! Super happy with how it ended up!
I like it absolutely beautiful
Thanks, Uncle Rob! Appreciate you!!
Beautiful bowl Love the combo
Thank you!!! It did end up working together well!
Wow, nice project, good job
Thank you, Tim! I appreciate that!

Thank you very much, Gary! I liked the idea of combining, but hadn't tried much before. Glad I did!!! Can't wait to see what you do!

Thank you, Mom!
Great looking piece, brother! Thanks for the shout out, buddy! I knew you'd like that sand paper... I have yet to find its equal.
Thanks, Billy! It works great for sure!
Turned out beautiful! The burl I expected to be gorgeous but I really liked that walnut too! They paired together nicely. Great job my friend!
Thank you, Kieran! I couldn't agree more!

Thanks, Bill! I need to get another from him to put on there!!!
Safety first XD
True story! Always wearing my face shield!
Beautiful piece! It was fun seeing it sell at Cider Days today. Enjoyed spending the weekend there with you.
Thank you, Ross! I appreciate that, and it was amazing getting to know everyone from the #KSAWT a little bit better!
Nice job but I almost cried watching you turn all that beautiful expensive burl away. You need to get a coring system for that beast of a lathe.
I get that, one of these days. I did cut a lot off that I could save with the band saw.

Thanks! As much as I like resin, sometimes it would detract!
That turned out great 👍
Thank you very much, John!
Beautiful piece, DD. 👍😊
Thanks, Rob!
That looks darn good! The addition of the pedestal worked out nicely.
Thanks, Clyde! I though it would definitely add to it!
