Why are the American taxpayers on the hook, for congress to investigate a private citizen? Congress, you want to sink your teeth into something, investigate how Jared got a $2B share in a Saudi financial fund and a $25M/year retainer in addition. One guy has never spent a day in public service, nor the Whitehouse. The other was the secretary of everything in the Whitehouse. What did he give to the Saudis to get a sweetheart deal like that? Meanwhile, halfway through their terms, republicans have done nothing but investigate. What did they run on to get elected?

Not getting sick/fired/jailed when you have immunity is not the same as being wrong. It's just that he has no immunity in this context. Nixon tried the same schtick.

I've read court recordings where the defense, the prosecution are both arguing at the same time, the judge has to call for their attention many times, 3, sometimes 4 people talking over each other and it 100% matches the video. I do think that they get most of the first time because they are stenographers, NOT typists, and stenos use a code system where every key stroke is essentially a small word, or a part of a large word. Same as when stenographer wrote by hand and there was no recording. I did not learn stenography, but I learned the basics and it is very different from typing. The good ones have learned how to hear and record everyone.
But I also think that before it becomes the official record, they get to go over the recordings and correct any mistakes and fill in anything they missed in those moments.
Stenographers are amazing!
But Court Recorders are truly amazing! Even when the judge asks them to read something back, they note that and add the reread words into the official record at that point in the record. Probably done afterwards, but the record reads correctly.
Ok well in the legal world seeking immunity is basically an admission of guilt. You don’t need to seek any protection if you didn’t commit the crime.

Court Reporting student here 👋, the thing you're missing on the transcript is the reporting dash -- which is used when there's a pause in speech or sounds like "uh..." "Mm..." "Eh..." The hardest part would probably be to punctuate because it all sounds like one sentence.

Double correction: when Biden stopped talking in those clips (a) he was running for President, he wasn't in government at all so he had no "authority" (b) he was following the rules for the debate that everyone agreed to beforehand. Having been in debate in high school I love when Biden stops the second the moderator calls time. Because that’s how it works for high schoolers. You lose points for going over. He’s just showing that he’s better at debate then the other kids who can’t even follow the 10th grade rules.
