Björn, The adjust parking position is just manual mode. You align square with space and start. When it shows the arrow or P without it, that is when it recognized. 😂
I test drove an Ariya a couple of months ago as a potential follow-up to my 2020 e-Soul. But while I found the car itself very roomy, comfortable and made of high quality materials. All the "smart" features like parking, but even just adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance felt horrible, and worse than my e-Soul already did. I got deja-vu's to my 40kWh Leaf, which already felt a clunky back then, like they didn't update the systems all that much and just added more junk on top. Really a waste for an otherwise very nice car.
The Tesla auto parc backs up in spaces rather than driving in. It is ideal for Frunk access at Costco 😊 and in our jurisdiction, you cannot back up in a public road. I can attest that the latest Tesla auto parc feature is a great improvement (2020 Tesla model Y with FSD). The only drawback is the old Intel chip does not allow for the same visual as the AMD one. The Hardware 4 vs hardware 3 does not affect for now.
i think a true test of this system is how fast you can use it on actual parking situations in side public spaces. the Volvo 2019 is soooo freakin slow ... get honked just trying to finish the sequence
Unfortunately that is the average person parking style in Oslo. Must be programmed to take 1.5 spots or just park so close the other cars that they cannot open the door anymore
This is strange. On my Ariya Platinum+ with e4orce I have never had an issue with it centering in the parking spot I think what the software was doing on that first parallel parking test it was going into the green square and once in it it would have pulled forward into the final place, but since it hit the curb it couldnt finish getting into that current green square to finish off the parking job

Agreed, but the system works perfectly fine if you RTFM and do it correctly instead of randomly pushing buttons. I however never use it since it is quicker to park by yourself.

The last parking: finetuning with the arrows could help with avoiding the curb, since you could put the square a litle bit outside the slot.

100% correct. Like many of these ‘smart’ and ‘convenient’ solutions, they are great to demonstrate but useless in the real world…
