Here's a trick for you mate. Fill the new filter with clean diesel before you put it on. It'll save you a LOT of pumping. Also coat the seal of the new filter with a smear of oil. If you don't, when you tighten it up, the seal could grab and twist leaving an air leak.
    Cheers, Ross.

Great video, appreciate the work this company puts in to these customer demo videos 👍. I was hoping filling the filter wasn’t essential as that means a trip to the petrol station 🙈

You should fill the new filter with fresh diesel before fitting to reduce the amount of air introduced to the system, the seal should also have oil smeared on it as they can bond themselves to the housing

You should lubricate the rubber seals before fitting or they can twist and leak. Both 200 and 300 Tdi engines will self bleed, Just fit the filter and start it up, it will just hesitate for a second but won't stop. Also because of the spill line from the injector pump to the tank there is never any residual pressure to worry about.

Fill the filter with fresh diesel before you screw it on.

Why is Alan Davis doing a fuel filter change?

Great videos thank you! do you have one for finding faults in the headlight/dashlights? mine only come on intermittently, no headlights=no dashlights either. I've replaced the relay but still not working :-(

I have a RRC 300tdi. I topped off with fuel but when I use the pump I'm not getting any diesel coming out the top. Lost power on the hwy a few days ago and can't get her to start. trying to trouble shoot and started with a new oil filter. batter is good and electronics all come on

I’d have filled the new filter first and rubed the seal slightly to avoid pinching the rubber seal when fitting.
and as suggested in the video to start the vehicle instead of hand pumping surly that would draw all the air from your empty fuel filter and then have air in the injector pump. Maybe I’m over thinking.

How about just bleeding water out of the filter?

Erm. Have you thought about filling the filter before................... Boring.
Good clear vid but suggest Vaseline or red rubber grease on seals before re-assembly.THEN you can tighten fully by hand.
