When you say we would expect around 400 covid deaths if 2 million kids were NOT vaccinated what is that number based on? I thought the death rate for people under 30 was much much lower. Not to mention nearly zero for children. I just want to make sure I understand all the numbers. Thank you!

Yep, great question. It is definitely very low, just 17 out of 28,505 deaths so far for those under 19. That's based on 4% of the population infected, so if left unvaccinated eventually all kids will be exposed so we would predict that 17 would increase to 400 at the current rate of deaths for kids.

@@nurseabe My two cents here, I believe most kids have already been exposed. There's a CDC page making this argument. Blood sample data seems to point towards an exposure closer to 100%.
What I think is causing the confusion is how to interpret a PCR test. As I understand it someone can have had the virus, or been vaccinated, or both and continue to test positive for virus, or fragments, -- forever.
      Am I confused here?

@@jerryray9988 You've misunderstood the PCR test outcomes. It only captures the presence of an active infection, you are thinking of a serology test: www.health.nd.gov/sites/www/files/documents/Files/MSS/coronavirus/COVID19_PCRvsSerologyTesting.pdf
