Got a 2004, 4WD. Removed all of the rear seats. Used it countless times for camping, moving house, utility, etc. Great vehicle. Had mine for 4 years. Very reliable. Only has 184,000 miles, best thing, paid only $4,000. There are still good ones out there for the same I paid.

We have a lot of salt here too. Especially driving down the roads near beaches the spray of it or actual salt water will hit the car. I think as long as you spray your car down with freshwater frequently it should be fine.

Thanks for this review, helped me decide against getting this vehicle over a used Escalade. I was looking into getting something other than a Yukon or Escalade but it seems like except for total interior cargo volume, Toyota falls short. Very basic for their top of the line. Fuel mileage is worse than similar year escalades (2002-2006), and the caddy comes with way more luxury items, can tow more, looks a whole lot better for less money than these used....the sequoia is bigger on the inside for volume, with a slight increase in leg and head room (fractions of an inch) with the same front head and leg room, GMT800's have more hip and shoulder room though...if you are ever going to tow anything, GMT800 chassis is best, more vehicle weight, more towing capacity, much better hauling power for hills, 240HP/315TQ vs 345HP/380TQ and the fuel mileage is better.

In '01 16" wheels were pretty much the standard for trucks and SUV's. The nice thing about them is that the tires for 16" wheels are CHEAP compared to 18'sor 20's. Plus I think smaller wheels with an aggressive tire has a more offroad look, which suits a large SUV. Huge wheels with low profile tires on a SUV is kind of pointless in my opinion.
