Great lesson Jim. Thanks a lot. I got married three days ago for the third time to a woman I dated in high school 54 years ago....and now I'm rolling in my sweet baby's arms! Hahaha. All my best, my friend.
Jim, this is a tune I’ve been wanting to learn for a long time. I’ve loved to hear it played by Flatt and Scruggs on their Mercury Recording of it. What I like a lot about your version is where you use a lot of standard banjo licks to put the tune together with. That’s being a help to me. I’m taking my time with it and practicing each section to learn the different licks. This break can be used for several different songs, so it’s helping me build up my repertoire. Thanks a lot for posting this.
I just found your channel. I really enjoy your content Jim! I look forward to viewing more of your videos and learning more on my Banjo. God Bless you!
Just as I finished all the songs I wanted to learn and I was thinking about what to learn next, I saw this video on my youtube page. Sometimes I think you can hear my thoughts.
I found your channel last year when i bought a banjo around this time and if it wasn’t for you and the way you simplify things I would have been too intimidated to even try to figure it out. Thank you Jim! One bluegrass classic a tutorial would be awesome for is “Big Rock Candy Mountains.” I would love to learn it from you if you know the tune!
Hey Jim, this is a great song. I learned another version of this but didn’t like the second D lick so I replaced it with your 411, Improvising is starting to get a little easier these days
Hi Jim, Great tutorial and a fabulous bluegrass tune. Many thanks for sharing. Quick question... would you please consider teaching us: Hand me down my walking stick & Red River Valley. (I tweet you about this too, four days ago!) Many thanks! Chris Dignall
Thanks Jim. I'm trying to increase my tempo to get it up to speed and it's coming along little by little. I learned so much from this one. Any chance I could request "Get along home Cindy Cindy"? My favorite mountain tune by far.

Nice

Why not show the tabs to make it easier for us?
Because you don't need them. I do provide tabs that you can buy, but I feel like they're not necessary.
