We purchased a Tiggo 4 Pro in early May after our Corolla got written off. We looked at the Omoda too and loved it but decided to go for the 4 Pro and it's been really nice. Only complaint is fuel consumption is quite high but we knew that before purchasing anyways so can't say there's been anything disappointing. The tech is so convenient and drive in general feels great with more power and a smoother feeling CVT than the Corolla we had before.
loved every minute of this video! your wit is legendary and you come across as one of us not some dude that read the spec sheet and spews endless facts and figures. well played!
The Omoda C5 is coming to the UK in February 2024. We’ll get the 1.6 turbo version with 145kW and 290Nm of torque. It is also expected to arrive in some other European countries such as Spain and Italy.
@@ERICREDGE It is important to note that the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is not available in the UK or most of Europe. But it is sold in Italy and Spain as the dR 5.0. Chery believes selling vehicles with the Chery name in the UK/EU market is too traditional, so the Tiggo series has been ruled out here (excluding dR rebadges of Chery vehicles in Italy and Spain). Consequently, we will only get the Omoda and Jaecoo series.
@@closehaulingSA many luxury cars in our neighbourhood...so sad that they are not fitted with indicators and some of the drivers has even forgotten what the meaning of a stop sign is.
@@ERICREDGE sad, but true. In the words of a traffic cop many years ago (like before Juliet McG was born) to my father, who had not come to a complete stop at a stop sign "Excuse me Sir, that sign spells S.T.O.P. stop, not P.A.W.S. pause" 🤣🤣
I loooooove your energy, you are fun to watch. Thank you for this review. Not so chuffed about the size of the car and some features. My Gosh...the indicator sound annoys me. Same as Pro7 indicator sound. I don't know why they chose this annoying sound.

@@julietmcguire I sincerely do enjoy your review style. My wife and I are moving back to South Africa, well she is moving back and I am accompanying her! LOL I am looking for future prospects for automotive transportation, I am a Golf R guy and she is a Tiguan woman. Probably looking for something a bit more modest for life around Cape Town. The Haval H6 hybrid looks interesting.
@@julietmcguire We would love to, but due to the tough import laws on newer vehicles and high import taxes, it would be very costly to bring them over. Additionally they are left hand drive vehicles, so one wonders about the value in doing so.
I recently saw another review of the Omoda and the car's suspension seemed overly soft........seemed liked the Titanic. How did it feel for you? Would it withstand South African roads?
Like the look. Unfortunately, the Chery Tiggo doesn't age very well. Was in one with barely 40 000km on the clock and every panel in the car was starting to make noise. Perceived build quality is good but the car's don't age well at all.
Looks cool, but still has the same old underdeveloped/under-performing 1.5 liter engine that goes into every similar Chinese vehicle available. Once they step up their engine game I'll buy their cars.
heated seats are the dumbass things ever for the SA market, i mean you will use them when? those 3/5 days when it gets really cold in June and never again until the next year, nah ventilated seats are the best since you will be using them from October till February
How am I supposed to show my kids this review with the unnecessary cursing. Well cursing is never necessary. Besides that I would like your opinion on what car you would buy if you had R600k
You can change the tone of the indicator/hazard signal Mam Juliet.
Whenever I watch your videos it confirms to me that I'm a normal driver in South Africa constantly having to swear bad drivers
YES!!!
Love the indicator sound
Got myself one and I really love this car.
Hi how’s it going?
How's the fuel consumption on this car

Ah I am so happy to hear you are happy with your Chery. Ya, I agree though, if only the fuel consumption was lower.

Ahhhh this comment makes me so happy .Thank you
Love the interior, beautiful gear knob.
Just love your natural expressions
Honest assessment!! Always appreciated.
Forgot to bleep at 6:24 😂😂
Have you asked which company is underwriting the warranty?
Jules, you forgot to mention the fuel consumption. Is it light or as heavy as the Tiggo 4 Pro?
Renault and Suzuki beat Chery and Haval for fuel efficiency
Did I? Gosh, I need to up my game. It is also not low enough for my liking, though, unfortunately

Thats the coolest indicator sound ever. I love it. 😁😁
You see, you either going to love or hate it. Glad that some will love it though ha ha
I have found my people well done juliet
I really like this new competition from China, More options for Consumers,
I get you on the indicator noise. I just bought myself a Next Gen Ranger and one selling point was the sound the indicator makes 😆
It is more important than people realise!
@@julietmcguire maybe that's why BMW drivers never use theirs... cos the sound sucks??

Think you can add the C-HR in there also as a contender

Welele, what did screen roofs do to you?
Speaking of Renault when do you review the new Captur it looks like real good value
interesting, I wonder why Chery made Omoda its own sub-brand while in many countries or in China this car is called Chery Omoda 5
Probably a marketing angle. So we think the Omoda is a more premium product as we already have an idea that Chery is not? Just my guess

My biggest problem with this car is it is tiny inside for taller people there is no space. I have a space problem with all chery products
The indicator sounds like a game show timer
There is a spy cam in that mirror
My fav review❤😂
The Chinese space ship 🛸 lots of them floating around Joburg

fuel consumption? An Australian review on yt reported a horrific figure of 11l/100km

It is a pity that the back of the Omoda is so ugly, ruins what seems to be a decent package.
The fugliest car I have seen in many years.
