Nick I agree with not every event being like this, but GO Fest should be like this. And this event showed that they are capable of making a fun event where they promote the increased shiny odds and not just promote it and actually have bad odds
Yeah, like 99% of players bought the Gofest ticket because of shinies. Honestly I’m not sure why you’d buy it without shinies, Shaymin? It will be free later on.
Adventure week was way better than Gofest - it really motivated people to get out and play. They should try and keep all events with this framework in mind.
I’d like to suggest that the next time there’s a special event that depends on pokestops, gyms, and spawns, you might participate from a remote area so folks can be reminded that an AWESOME event isn’t so much for everyone. We were visiting a remote coastal town and with only a little more than a dozen pokestops, we only had that many chances to get a shiny Shieldon and Cranidos. I got one shiny Shieldon and my spouse ended the day without any shinties. In addition the spawns were nearly non-existent despite driving a 15 mile distance to another town and over the four hours we only saw 5 Tyrunts and 3 Amauras. The game is so different for remote players that it seems either Niantic could give them a reduced cost on events or drop additional pokestops and spawns for these players.
I agree, I'm not in big area, but I do have more pokestops than the next town that has I think I've seen 10. It's hard out here. Hence shinny Pokémon are far and few between.
He has played from a remote area during an event couple years back, think it was a shiny day for lotad and castform. As someone who has recently moved to the edge of a city and now has a very rural pokemon area around me, I understand it stinks playing a big event with so few areas to spawn pokemon.
@@bluntx123 I might have missed that video of Nick’s or more likely forgotten it. I just feel for folks who have little Pokémon play in their area and wish there was a way to compensate for the difference between urban and rural play.
I agree, I too live in a small town and had zero Shinies…I got just enough Tyrunts to evolve 1, but not enough Amauras. I got 5 shinies on Go Fest Saturday, and I played the exact same area on both events…not happy
This event was the best event for some time, for sure! Smashing Pokestops for tasks was great fun and the shiny rate was pretty much spot on in terms of hard work vs reward. The fact that you could pick up the 2 new Pokemon in the wild too, gave it something else. I'd definitely be up for more events like this every 3 months or so!
In my area the research tasks glitched at 1:30-3:00 o clock, meaning it was a 1h 30 minute useless bike ride of me spinning 50 plus poke stops and getting no research tasks. I didn’t get one of the event shinies, but I did get a nice moldy onix shiny on my first encounter of the Pokémon in general, which made it my Pokédex onix 😎
I really appreciate you showing us every research check! It shows how many tasks you completed and the amount of shinies you got from them! Thanks for the great video!
I think every event should be like this and then people can decide when to stop. I, personally, played until I got one of each and went back to my weekend. In one hour I got more from this event then the whole of last weekend when playing go fest
Didn't find a single shiny Cranidos or Shieldon during the research day, only a single shiny Aron that I already had, was ULTRA disappointed this Adventure Week
This event was amazing. I too was missing the shiny cranidos and shieldon line and after playing this event for a few hours before work and doing 114 research tasks got 15 shinies, 6 cranidos and 9 shieldons! Great event, easy research tasks and great shiny rates. I think doing events like this every once and awhile as a treat for Pokémon they aren’t planing on doing community days. Probably a good way to hold us over in between large events but definitely not all the time; maybe as a way to end week/monthlong events on a high note much like they did for this adventure week.
GoFest was an ok event, but not great - depends on expectations, but for the price, poor value for money. Adventure week, I enjoyed. Missed most of the research day on Sunday except for the last 15 minutes (didn't know about the boosted shinys) but did manage one shiny cranidos - 1st one after 700 catches).
Well, I got zero shiny both days and only one amaura as well as two tyrunt. It wasn't just bad weather that was the issue. They expect people in rural places to get up and go to a town or city. Yeah, it wasn't fun for me at all.
Congrats on your shinies. For me both adventure week and the research day was a big L. Hatched 42 eggs, checked hundreds of fossils and played during my lunch hour for research day and got not a single shiny or hundo. Whoever reads this always remember that there are people out there with worst shiny luck than you😅
Thanks for sharing! I came out of the event wondering if I just had the worst shiny luck ever. I got one shiny Cranidos and one Shieldon, which I'm not complaining about, but seeing how many others got was a bit disheartening. Strangely enough, I also saw ZERO wild Amaura (even with an incense).🤷♀️ Either way I still enjoyed myself. I just need to scale back my expectations and know I'm not going to get anywhere near the same amount of shinies those with great shiny luck get.😥
Me and hub managed to spend 2 hours around work schedules completing about 60 research tasks between us and no shinies at all. We were like are we in the upsidedown or what?
Talking about Adventure Week being better than Go Fest, "If shinies were more important to you...." Some of y'all don't get it. Go Fest failing was NOT about the shiny rate. It was all about the Incense/Lure glitches. There were no glitches, or at least not as many during Adventure Week. THAT is why it was better.
The entirety of Adventure Week was amazing. I played as much as I was able too. Hands down one of the best events of recent memory. The 7k egg pool was the best I’ve ever seen.
Unfortunately I don't live in an area with many pokestops and wasn't feeling up to driving long to find them so wasn't a great event for me. I personally like it better when they did the timed tasks think the did it with Meowth and Marill. But it's good to see people that did enjoy the event.
I agree that not every event could be like just this research day but Niantic should do similar things to other events like make ALL field research from stops during community days have a reward encounter with the featured Pokémon (instead of great/ultra ball rewards for some). I think a field research reward with a higher shiny rate (and high base IVs) is very effective in encouraging people to get out and be among their community.
I missed the first hour and a half cause of bad weather, but the event still managed to be fun and feel worth the effort. Hope more events can be like this in the future!
Same here.. Heavy rain and thunderstorms in the morning. Didnt see ANY cranidos or shieldon in the wild though! I did get a shiny shieldon hatch though and a shiny Groudon raid 😁
The event was really good but stressful!! lol I never walked so fast to get more research tasks. The only issue I found was finding enough stops to spin.
Imagine that. A 4-hour free event that actually had good shiny rates, And the community has been over the moon about how much they've enjoyed this event. If That alone doesn't show how heavily these events are carried by the enjoyment of getting a good amount of shinies then I don't know what will... The amount of people who I've seen post on social media that this 4-hour event was better than the entire GoFest weekend is kind of insane...
I loved this event/ultra unlock!!!! Due to my grandson's baseball tournament, he and I could only play for 2 hours. We each got 2 of each shiny which was perfect and all we really wanted. I love getting shinys, but what i like more is doing the research for them!!!!
My enjoyment of this event wasn’t just due to the generous shiny rate. As a whole Adventure Week was great because there were lots of things to be excited about. - Great theme of fossil pokemon - Introduction of two cool looking new Pokémon - Amazing egg pool for 7 km - different ways for all types of players to play (fun and exciting research tasks, eggs, wild encounters) Overall this felt fair (even before the Ultra unlock)
@@MissMolly30 it was sarcasm. Niantic nerfs shiny odds thinking getting shiny Pokemon makes the game unenjoyable. I think it's fun to get pleasant surprises.
It seems like the breeding mechanic from the main series games could be implemented seamlessly into Pokémon go. Players could deposit compatible Pokémon into a “daycare” that would function exactly the same as the main series games: slowly raise the Pokémon’s CP say 1/2 level every 20km and have a chance to produce an egg of a Pokémon you actually care to hatch. The Masuda method could even be implemented to encourage trading with players from different parts of the world. The only reason I can think of Niantic may not want to pursue a project like this would be the all mighty pokecoins from buying incubators, but I feel like the solution is simple and offers perfect continuity with the main series: charge a base rate of pokecoins per Pokémon deposited per km walked/egg produced and implement a cooldown timer that can be sped up with coins. Seems like a win win win to me, I wonder how many niantic developers even played the main series.
Unfortunately I couldn't play the whole whole event, but I managed to get four Shinies in about 1.5hrs. I also had more Shieldon (3) than Cranidos (1) and I also felt like there were overall more Shieldon tasks. I wish I got a second Cranidos, too, but this event was still a lot of fun to play when I was able to play :) By the way, you got more Shinies in the 4hrs than me during the whole GO Fest haha Congrats!
I missed videos like this! It felt like the good ol times! Keep it up! I, unfortunately, missed the event. Was busy congratulating my friends completing grad school and becoming doctors! Safe travels!
I wish all events are like this. I don't play POGO, but I always watch your videos and this is the first video since a while where you actually look happy playing POGO. Truly.
I played both events (GO Fest and this) with the same trainer pal, and we both had more fun this time. The gist is: this time we had an incentive to go after as many pokestops as possible and to complete quests, while in GO Fest we didn't really. T¥The tasks were just the usual (as you pointed in your other video), so all we could do was catching and collecting, and hope that something exciting would emerge from that, but in reality nothing really special came out; once you catch a handful of Mr. Mimes, it is anything but exciting. So, this time we were walking to get new tasks, to get potential shinies, new pokemon spawns, while also hatching eggs for potential shinies and new pokemon. This sinergy between actions makes a whole difference too.
Hopefully (although Im honestly doubtful) Niantic will harness the data they've collected from their arguably-better-than-GO Fest-adventure-week and put it to some valued use; the week was way more fun and rewarding.
Just wanted to say that I completely appreciated the shiny check music, montage and variety of accompanying foliage. Also, the Shieldon hatch...priceless!!!
I had fun. Really liked the event. Family and friends liked it as well. The tasks weren’t impossible to do which we all liked. It was way more fun then Go fest 😅. Hope niantic does this more often
Nick is on point with those pulchritudinous background. I love it 😍 Oh man, what a cliffhanger- I need to head over to John’s UA-cam - poor Tom - I hope you got yours 🥹
Much like Tom, I played +3hours, managed to get easily 5/6 shiny shieldons, even a random shiny Anorith and only managed to get a shiny Cranidos at 14h56 - literally 4min before the end of the event. I don't believe they had the same odds!
I went in a very high spawn area in my town and shiny checked wild spawns much more than I completed research tasks. I ended up shinies with 1 Cranidos & 3 Shieldon, but mostly : 2 Lileep, 1 Dwebble, 1 Onix & 1 Omanyte, along with another Lileep & a Lilipup during the week. I'm pretty happy about it as I ended up with a good variety of shinies, which people who focused on research tasks only didn't get. I was also able to complete that Ditto research from April, to which I had fallen short by one when it was on. This Adventure week has been very interesting !
This event was worth the time invested playing and it was much more fun and less frustrating than the global go fest. I think the 1/2 hatch distance and good mixup in 7k eggs made it fun also even if I hatched more than 50 eggs and got no shinies XD it was still fun. Hopefully they’ll spice up event to have more fun like this one.
Hey Nick! First of all, thanks for showing the AR trick to get 2 research tasks from a stop. It really helped me out as I'm a rural player with only 6 stops around (I didn't have time to go to the city). Secondly, I liked Adventure Week and Research Day much better than Go Fest, because we had something to do: research tasks. It gives a lot more satisfaction to complete a task and shiny check, than just going around tapping pokemon. The egg pool was also amazing, so that was another reason to get out and play. Biggest thing is that Research Day is for FREE. Also, some of my friends started playing again, so we could play together. I do agree with you that not every event should be like this, because that makes it less rare and exciting.
Such a bummer. In San Francisco it was misting the entire time so I couldn’t walk around outside and play the game. Same like the last Sunday of community day. Nice day Saturday, but just misting all day Sunday, so by the time the sun came out, it was over. I did catch a shiny Shieldon from a research task before I gave up, so that was nice.
Since I really only play for the shinies and the hundos, this event was absolute garbage for me. Not one shiny during the entire time I was out walking around the city. Had better luck during GoFest
No shinies,no spawns Incence and lures all put out Played 3 hours and had to go 3 hours nothing special Its always bad in my area Glad you had great time I always enjoy playing anyway Just so disappointing when everyone else gets so many Long island New York needs help
Adventure week was fun until Research Day. I'm glad many people had such a good time with it, but as a rural player seeing such a deep divide between the amount of stops I could spin vs. city players it was a horrible ending to an otherwise good event and I'm a bit mad at Niantic. No, I don't expect to ever be able to have the ease that urban players do, but at least with Marill or Nidoran research day I had a chance. It was not worth the time or gas money to go out to just spin stops. Stops here are in small clusters with large distances between clusters.
Hey Nick, just a note about Bastiodon IVs - unless you're trying for an XL Bastiodon, it needs a lot of attack IVs to get close to 1500 CP. On Stadium Gaming, the #1 rank level 40 Bastiodon is 12-15-15
Got to enjoy this event while on vacation in Capri, Italy! Was busy taking pictures, enjoying the crowded areas and spinning brand new pokestops! Was the best event so far simply because of the number of research quests I could pickup and easily do. Only picked up 1 shiny though and it was on the first research completed. However, if I was at home, I would of been driving from park to park to pickup research & the last time we had an event like this, I had to go to a mall to get enough for the event to be worthwhile. Such a mixed bag these events give for everyone!
I already had the shinies going in (0/42 on the day), but it was mostly just upsetting to not have enough stops to get everything from the research day. I rollerbladed/walked 18km and could only get 42 stops. The next stop would have been another town over. My community has just resorted to driving because there aren't enough POI eligible structures in rural places.
Adventure week was good, but I wish they would stop limiting the main event to just the weekend. I grinded as many research tasks as I could while working (15) and came away with nothing worthwhile. Not everyone works a M-F 9-5 job. Zero shinies for the week/event but I enjoyed the spawns and research.
I think part of what made this event fun was that Cranidos and Shieldon are both actually useful mons. Rampardos is a beast in Raids and Bastiodon is a staple in PVP. If it were any other mons, say, Archen & Tirtouga, I doubt if it would have been as exciting. Anyway, what do you think of Strenaka's statement Nick? would love to hear where you stand on the matter, although I get the feeling that you already made your stand clear with "if you get these many shinies, they become less exciting"
I agree with the comment below, adventure week was so cool, it was a really awesome week, and the research Day was a fantastic event, I liked the day being set up around the research tasks instead of the standard catch and evolve. And the absolute best part about the event week was getting Auroras, mine is actually doing very well in ultra league, and has replaced my Walrein for the moment.
I definitely enjoyed this event more than GOFest, and that's not just about the shinies (although I was very happy to get a shundo Shieldon), but also the overall amount of work required to get them. I feel like the event was challenging but doable, if that makes sense. As opposed to a community day, where the shinies just roll in, or Johto Tour, where keeping track of all of the work that had to be done on the day was just overwhelming. (Disclaimer: I played in a small city, with way more stops available than I could walk around in the time available). Combine that with the wild amaura and tyrunt, the length of the event (four hours feels like a decent compromise in order to get the amaura and tyrunt rotations; I doubt I would have had the energy to play for six, and I doubt Niantic would have considered running it that long) and the cosmetic change to the sky, and it felt like a nice wrap up to Adventure Week. A special research track with a couple of premium item rewards and some interesting encounters would have been a good addition, but overall it was great.
The way I feel is: If I pay money for a ticket, and event, or some time gated thing, the odds should be boosted. Ultra unlocks, extra events, and the other free gatherings can be lower odds, reasonable. The burn is experiencing adventure week and the unlock rates and then looking at the $15 or more I spent on a Go Fest ticket. It feels wasteful as a customer.
I had a pretty decent Go Fest with about a dozen shinies but the 2 other people I was with only had 1 between them. For this event though I only got 1 of each Cranidos and Shieldon, which were both pretty late in the day. But I also got a shiny Aerodactyl from a hatch 2 eggs task, and before I even went out I got a shiny Sudowoodo in the driveway.
I agree. I didn’t catch a lot of shinies outside of research tasks. However, I did score about 10 shiny Shieldon and 5 shiny Cranidos. My first catch in a research task was a shundo Shieldon!
Got my first ever shundo, a cranidos. I think I like research day even more then comm day it’s more interesting then just quick catching for hours. I imagine it’s rough for the rural players but if you can get to the stops it’s a lot of fun. I do wish they made regular incubators way cheaper or put them in a lot more rewards they motivate me to keep walking or go for an extra walk all the time.
I really enjoyed this event. I got 2 of each shiny which is exactly what I wanted. I liked how they made it so you actually had to adventure (move to different poke stops) to get the Shinies. I rode my bike to a place I haven’t been before near my neighborhood and it was cool to be ride around a place I see everyday from a car window. I don’t think it was too insane but maybe my luck was just bad, but it didn’t seem that way at the time. Getting 4 shines after all of those checks didn’t seem like the odds were too high, it was just enough to get the minimum Shinies I wanted and still make me gasp with excitement when I saw that red or blue egg shaped head that both of the dinos share
Nick, I don’t think you’ve updated your descriptions to have your new lapel mic. I could’ve missed it though; I was curious about your new mic ((going to go check your old vid when you first got though))
Solid haul. I had 5 Cranidos and 4 Shieldon shinies. None were super amazing but I had fun. I hatched 192 eggs, 86km, 95,513 steps walked for the week, and no shiny of Archen or tirtoga but it was still fun. Something different and this was PERFECT for me as I've been working to walk 10k steps or more a day.
I'm only one data point, but my shiny Sunday was a total loss. I had limited time to play on my way to Reno for a Weird Al concert, but I managed to complete 20 event tasks in Auburn, California and then Reno before the event ended. Lots of Cranidos and Shieldon, but not a shiny among them. Day 1 of Go Fest was bad, but this was worse. Luckily the concert was a whole lot of fun and made up for my shiny failure.
Your take of this event was perfect. This event was great for what it is but not every event can be like this. I also had this debate with people about whether this event was more fun versus go fest and so many have said this one. I found the adventure week very fun and sure hunting for easy shinnies checks off boxes for some but you can't just put this game on easy mode or it would get stale.
I agree to a certain extent. I like how this event was a reward for a global challenge so it's not something that'll happen every day. But I had to play next to someone who was upset they didn't many shinies from go fest and it wasn't fun. For big events (especially paid ones that are advertised to be shiny boosted) it should be properly boosted and comparable to past events. Go fest this year wasn't the flagship event we've come to expect and it came at a higher cost. For me, I'd of preferred if they also put out more information about the event. Last year we knew every legendary was going to be in raids. Last year we had the cute themed pikachus and so many more pokemon with special go fest outfits that supported the music theme of moletta. And special music depending if you went rock or pop! It felt like the theme was supported in all the aspects of the day. Where as this year, we got a cute animation with Shaimen, a com day like research to find it and a pose. Pikachu had one costume and nothing else. This year we didn't really find out till day two started about the ultra beast thing. Plus, more folks were interested in raiding axew. It's especially frustrating when Niantic brazenly shrugs off the incense issues or they player's base complaints. However for unpaid events, like the special weeks of alola, or the card event happening at the end of the week, I don't see a need to be handed anymore shinies than is expected with regular shiny rates. I don't want to play the game on easy mode, but when an event advertises higher shiny rates I'd like it to be higher and for a flagship once a year event, I don't think that's a huge request.
I have to say that fashion week last year was more fun, even though I was not out hunting for a shiny. Coiffwuff in normal form that could change was enough for me, especially because Coiffwuff changed the form. And the different trainers on the different pokestops were much more fun than just this having to run around. In fact, it felt a lttle forced to do all these tasks wih run 5 km, run 10 km run 25 km... I wasn t forced by the wish to got somewhere but by the wish to do the kilometers. However, I made the best of it and went to a neighboring city which was very beautiful to see and actually, I made it an adventure that way. The shiny rate on Sunday was good, though, because I played in the city center, 5 shinys, 2 developments and two of the new pokemon that could not be shiny.
I absolutely love research days, I'm hoping that we get more this year! 🤞 I'm wondering if we'll be getting more for the events we to get ultra unlock stuff for, with the coming GoFest 🤔
I'm glad you said you'll be in Berlin Nick, I'd love the opportunity to meet you. I'm there on the Saturday as a once in a lifetime birthday experience!
After the Adventure Week research period, I actually told my friends on whether I should be happy or insulted that I got a bit more shiny Pokemon and enjoyed my time more in this free event versus the paid one. But ngl what made me really go out was the good Egg pool hatch and shorter hatch distance. If they want people to get out more, Niantic should look into it... but we know they dont listen to the community. lol.
It was great event 👍. I'm calling next year that we are getting archen and Tirtouga research event since last year we got shiny crandios and shieldon and this year is their research event
I thoroughly enjoyed Adventure Week. Fossil pokemon are my favorite so being able to catch them all week made me extremely happy. I never got tired of seeing any of them. Still haven't found that shiny tirtouga but I'm still holding out hope. For me and my family we had more fun this past week than we did during go fest.
Nice to hear this went better. Was this another paid event as I really only saw 2-3 shieldon or cranidos non shiny? Did see a tyrunt twice so that was fine for me as a new pokemon but not much else.
I got 3 shiny each cranidos and shieldon from the tasks plus an extra shiny cranidos from an egg hatch. AND a bonus shiny Lileep which was a new one for me. Total of 8 shinies. For 3 1/2 hours of playtime. Vs 5 shinies for GoFest from 8 hours playtime.
We unfortunately were traveling and missed the whole event. My husband got 4 researches and got 1 shiny shieldon, I only got 2 researches and got none, but it was fun to see your video
Congratulations on all the shineys. I was thrilled to get one shiny Cranidos until I heard how well all the UA-camrs did. Oh well I'm happy with my one. Glad to hear that you get to go to Go Fest in Berlin. I hope Niantic pairs you up with Zoey again or perhaps Pokemon Master Holly. Everyone is realizing that the human interactions are half the fun in Pokemon Go.
I was quite surprised by the turnout, I was happy that I got one of each, but that enticed me to keep going and by the end of the event I ended up with 5 shiny Cranidos and 4 shiny Shieldon. Plus a Hundo Cranidos.. I’ve never had these types of odds before, but at least you got a couple. I agree a lot of the events had this low of a shiny rate I don’t think the event would be as thrilling, maaaybe every so often. Good luck in Europe, safe travels. Can’t wait to see what you catch over there. ✌🏽 later.
thought it was great, got 1 shiny cranidos, 6 shiny shieldon and a shiny onix. I loved the format of research with potential wild shinys and boosted eggs and research. Only issues i had was my phone going down twice due to network deadspots. Played solid for the whole time and really enjoyed it.
Did about 85 research tasks, ended up with 10 shiny cranidos, 5 shiny shieldon, 1 shiny hatched shuckle. The event was very rewarding and a grind fest. It was not easy since you had to go complete some of the tasks. Some of them took time too like battle in a raid or use a super-effective charge move. I think this event was amazing since it gave people with less resources a chance to get the shiny: rural players, quarantined players, disabled players. When Niantic did Comm Day in LA. It was in Grand Park where there are stair heavy areas. So many handicapped players were limited to certain areas. I think Niantic should just boost the rate during GoFest and events players PAY for since they dilute the pokemon with non shiny or recycled shinies. At least yesterday, Shieldon and Cranidos were the boosted and the ones that spawned were base rate 1/500. Just BOOST THE SHINY FOR THE NEW EVENT EXCLUSIVE POKEMON.
Kind of a killer event, especially when you consider how valuable the XL candy for Basti is in GBL. Rampardos is also kind of a stud on the raid scene if you want to invest. Both shinies are amazing too. If I had one problem I'd say the Amura and Tyrunt wild spawns were a bit flaccid. Alternating them by the hour on such a short event was also a trifle lame. Otherwise, amazing event.
I got to check 19 pokestops and found 3 shiny cranidos and 1 shieldon. I got the shieldon from the last stop on my route, lol! I could have checked more, but would have had to go out of my way, and weather was looking like it could get bad.
Literally such a fun event; funnily enough the group I was with had the exact opposite luck 11 shiny cranidos and 5 shieldon between 3 people. But also a shiny archen, kabuto, and 3 onix (again split between 3 people) Overall had more fun in those 4 hours than most of go fest💀
I agree 10000000%
I got more shiny doing 2 hours of research day than 2 days of GoFest.
I disagree 1000%.... no shinies=bs event..
It gave people false hopes, it sure got people out and about, but they get nothing for it
@@Blink.M2Dev what?
Ya, I think they should divide "paths" by remote vs in person play.
Unfortunately I didn't get any shinies from this event but that didn't ruin my fun, still enjoyed going out with a friend doing this event together
We think alike.
No shinies for me either. I guess the odds weren’t in my favor.
Loved adventure week, wayyy better than Gofest. Crazy how that works
I love gofest
GoFest was an ok event, but not great - depends on expectations, but for the price, poor value for money. Adventure week, I enjoyed. Missed most of the research day on Sunday except for the last 15 minutes (didn't know about the boosted shinys) but did manage one shiny cranidos - 1st one after 700 catches).
i got 10 shines on adventure week and 0 on go fest lol that is crazy
Mom o
Well, I got zero shiny both days and only one amaura as well as two tyrunt. It wasn't just bad weather that was the issue. They expect people in rural places to get up and go to a town or city. Yeah, it wasn't fun for me at all.
Maybe Niantic will listen to that other fellow who suggested research tasks (especially for rural) reset every hour.
Congrats on your shinies. For me both adventure week and the research day was a big L. Hatched 42 eggs, checked hundreds of fossils and played during my lunch hour for research day and got not a single shiny or hundo. Whoever reads this always remember that there are people out there with worst shiny luck than you😅
Don’t worry, no shinies for me either. 😢
Thanks for sharing! I came out of the event wondering if I just had the worst shiny luck ever. I got one shiny Cranidos and one Shieldon, which I'm not complaining about, but seeing how many others got was a bit disheartening. Strangely enough, I also saw ZERO wild Amaura (even with an incense).🤷♀️
Either way I still enjoyed myself. I just need to scale back my expectations and know I'm not going to get anywhere near the same amount of shinies those with great shiny luck get.😥
yeah I hear ya, I did 36 research tasks and only got one shiny, guess its better than 0!
I got one hundo Cranidos, not a single shiny. So i'm right there with ya.
I missed all of it because we are in the middle of an extreme heatwave and also work, ffs the real event was too short!
- Great theme of fossil pokemon
- Introduction of two cool looking new Pokémon
- Amazing egg pool for 7 km
- different ways for all types of players to play (fun and exciting research tasks, eggs, wild encounters)
Overall this felt fair (even before the Ultra unlock)
I didn’t know about this event and I missed it 😔 and that’s a bummer because I played go fest with a ticked and I hated it!
I had such a blast this event! I ended with 6 shinies. 2 shieldon, 1 cranidos, a lileep, a yungoos, and hatched a wynaut! I couldn't believe my luck!
All those shinnies and you don't hate the game? Weird.
@@brianwenzel912 I don't understand what you mean sir
I wish I got a second Cranidos, too, but this event was still a lot of fun to play when I was able to play :)
By the way, you got more Shinies in the 4hrs than me during the whole GO Fest haha Congrats!
Played the entire day, got zero shinys.
Very good event! Only complaint is after an hour and a half shiny basically disappeared, BUT had 2 of each AND a shiny Aerodactyl from a mega raid!
I agree. At about 1 pm shiny rates dropped a lot. But it was still a fun event.
@@bluelight456 For me it was better the last 2 hours, weird how rgn works
I had fun. Really liked the event. Family and friends liked it as well. The tasks weren’t impossible to do which we all liked. It was way more fun then Go fest 😅. Hope niantic does this more often
Nick is on point with those pulchritudinous background. I love it 😍
Oh man, what a cliffhanger- I need to head over to John’s UA-cam - poor Tom - I hope you got yours 🥹
Much like Tom, I played +3hours, managed to get easily 5/6 shiny shieldons, even a random shiny Anorith and only managed to get a shiny Cranidos at 14h56 - literally 4min before the end of the event. I don't believe they had the same odds!
I’ve been really enjoying the new wave of vids, thanks for making these and I’m glad you’ve been having fun again in the game
It was amazing. The incensed 'mons didn't go POOF. Everything worked. :)
Man it’s so so so so good to see Nick enjoying making videos and playing the events, amazing! Hope everyone had an awesome day
I went in a very high spawn area in my town and shiny checked wild spawns much more than I completed research tasks.
You and Tom together is such a blast!
No shinies,no spawns
Incence and lures all put out
Played 3 hours and had to go
3 hours nothing special
Its always bad in my area
Glad you had great time
I always enjoy playing anyway
Just so disappointing when everyone else gets so many
Long island New York needs help
Where I live, I played for over 12 hours, and got zero shinys. I feel you.
Tom is such a fun and chill guy. Always enjoy seeing him in videos!
Hey Nick, just a note about Bastiodon IVs - unless you're trying for an XL Bastiodon, it needs a lot of attack IVs to get close to 1500 CP. On Stadium Gaming, the #1 rank level 40 Bastiodon is 12-15-15
Every event should NOT be like yesterday
However, a $15 ticketed 2 day event SHOULD be like yesterday, and even better than
That doesn’t even make sense
@@cedricgant8535 how so?
@@cedricgant8535 It absolutely made sense
I appreciate syncing the swipe down on the screen to the music. It’s the small things man
Got to enjoy this event while on vacation in Capri, Italy!
You got more shinies during this free 4 hour event than I did during go fest... I'll keep pointing it out
Image is very pretty on 3:01 and onward. Great work there!
Will the Go Fest Research be available for people who didn’t buy a ticket at some point?
I really want Shaymin
The way I feel is:
If I pay money for a ticket, and event, or some time gated thing, the odds should be boosted.
Ultra unlocks, extra events, and the other free gatherings can be lower odds, reasonable. The burn is experiencing adventure week and the unlock rates and then looking at the $15 or more I spent on a Go Fest ticket. It feels wasteful as a customer.
I definitely loved this event! Helped that I returned to my university to graduate after two years, so there were TONNES of new stops
Your walking into bushes thing was cracking me up!
Bunch of shinies, including a shundo Cranidos. The in game sky background was a nice touch
This short event was way better than I anticipated. They need to do this type of event more often!
I agree this event was great & the video had me laughing so much I’m glad you had a great time and the shiny shieldon hatch was hilariouss!!
Nick tilting his phone into the bush had me giggling to myself
One of the best for sure. Loved every minute, nice shinies.
I got 15 shinies during this 10 from research 2 from Eggs and 3 in the wild.
Agree that EVERY event can't be shiny on easy mode. I wonder if so many liked this event so much simply because they felt let down by Go Fest.
I had a real fun time with Adventure week. I was able to get the Platinum metal for Rock types and a couple of shiny Cranidos.
Love these back to classic videos!
My first ever shiny cranidos was perfect, such a fun event that encapsulates the true meaning of Pokémon go, going out and exploring
Syncing the beat with the encounters at the 8:40 mark was dope
Nice to hear this went better. Was this another paid event as I really only saw 2-3 shieldon or cranidos non shiny? Did see a tyrunt twice so that was fine for me as a new pokemon but not much else.
I got 3 shiny each cranidos and shieldon from the tasks plus an extra shiny cranidos from an egg hatch. AND a bonus shiny Lileep which was a new one for me.
Total of 8 shinies. For 3 1/2 hours of playtime. Vs 5 shinies for GoFest from 8 hours playtime.
This video gave me such vibes as back in the day. Like 2 years ago type TrainerTips video's. loved it!
Everyone is realizing that the human interactions are half the fun in Pokemon Go.
the encounters synced up with the song beat was nice
Who needs honey bees? Pollinate the flowers with your phone while playing Pokémon go! Love the videos, man!
But also a shiny archen, kabuto, and 3 onix (again split between 3 people)
Overall had more fun in those 4 hours than most of go fest💀
love the shiny checks with the beat! lol
Dang, I couldn’t really play much on the day. Got really lucky with a Cranidos shiny from one of the research I happened to pick up
