I never thought the day would come. I figured one day Niantic would close down for good and Nick would suddenly remember too late that he had all that research he forgot to do.

Been missing in action for 5 years and this video made me miss being out of the scene for so long. Also I realized how much I missed watching your vids. Especially these ones where you travel. I was first to 40 in both the areas I played at and now I'm getting ready to start my Pokémon GO adventure again. You are a true inspiration, Nick. Thank you for grinding out all these vids. Amazing. The hardest part to watch was that you didn't even bother putting on a star piece from the very beginning. I kept begging into the void that you would put one on, and you finally did later on. But man, all that precious, "wasted" star dust from the first part of this video...

I am loving your travel videos again. I love your layback game play, I always seem to stress out while playing or at least try to rush through things. I took a break a while back as I was hard out playing Wizards Unite, but since that game is no longer I came back to PG.
That completed tab is gonna be so out of order. I would hate it😭😭
Buddy functionality idea:
What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the trainer were given the ability to improve the buddy’s IVs by 1? And let’s say the Km needed were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained. For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV improvement. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs.
Pros:
- This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon.
- Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex.
Cons:
- All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough
- Pvp players would need to make sure to avoid gaining hearts walking their buddy, or not apply the “bonding” IVs earned.
If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! Ideas welcomed and I’ll update the post accordingly.

Nick! I hope you finished the Litwick Comm Day research. You could've evolved a Lampent and it counts as evolving Litwick. OR you could've gotten a Litwick from Yuri (or any other PoGo trainer in Japan... 😜). Anyway, I'm glad you could come to Japan and enjoy a few days playing PoGo here. I hope to actually meet up with you next time🙏🏻
it's interesting seeing the pros and cons of waiting to finish research, like certain pokemon not being a shiny check at the time of research but they are now. i still prefer to clear mine right away and probably always will lmfao

This is very cool... I did the same thing and waited until I was up on top of a mountain in another country to catch my Mew.
The XP rewards hidden in this research stack would have been a help for you in the race to Level 50, and avoiding Disneyland - I was surprised when it wasn't used to your advantage....

I still have no clue why people choose not to claim their special research. It’s annoying to see people not click the orange “claim reward” on research, it’s a great time passer, it helps you complete your Pokédex, it’s satisfying to see the screen when you’ve completed all your special research, and it actually adds a really good story to the game
Edit: If you don’t know how infuriating it is for a quest completionist to see someone not claim their rewards from a quest, I can barely (sometimes actually can’t) resist claiming a FIELD research task that I need to wait to claim for one reason or another. Especially if it’s a Pokémon because 1. It could be shiny, 2. It could be a hundo. 3, Pokémon are the one thing I want out of research tasks and the one thing you can’t see outside breakthrough boxes (not counting looking up rewards). And 4. My goal with the game is to complete the Pokédex. And it’s just so hard to see the research symbol be orange and not click it to make it finally normal colored

I had so many unfinished research tasks and I finally opened stuff and finished things, to get the rewards and to help collect points and level up.
I stalled at level 41 for awhile. I’m now stalled at 43, although I have enough XP to get me higher, I just haven’t cared about battling 😂😂😂!
