I was recently very lucky, I just found, and rescued one these. Found it in the back, of third floor storage, of an antique shop. All original and in good shape, had the original case too. Thank you for sharing your video, I enjoyed it
My cousin had one like that but the nut was unique in that it looked like the ends of strings were arranged so the strings would go through them. It looked like the nut on the picture in the beginning of this video. I don't usually see that on the ones with the single coil pickups but he had it on his. I thought that was very interesting. Such a cool guitar.
Great guitar. It's probably at the earliest, 1979. I've got a DMZ 3000 I purchased 06/79. I played it every weekend for over six months. The owner said, no one else ever played it or wanted it. He made me a sweet deal. The necks were only guaranteed for 20 years. Mine is okay, but not as good as it used to be.
I just bought a newer Travis Bean that was built in 2021 by ECG. Its a TB1000S with a pan back in black. Love the aluminum necks (I posted a few videos this week on here). There is NO other guitar like he Bean i have and i have a lot of guitars in my collection. If your chasing a Knopfler/Garcia tone, this is an amazing guitar plugged straight into a Twin. Do yourself a favor and try one of these out, Kramer or Bean. But make sure you let the guitar get acclimated to the room your gonna use it in for about 20mins. Or yes you can have tuning issues with these. But once acclimated, this guitar stays intune better than any of my others and most of my collection are pretty expensive guitars. This Bean has my favorite tone of any of them. Thanks for the video, since i got mine ive been spotting more and more videos with Kramer and Beans. Good stuff. Oh and i called my TB1000S "Mr.Bean" i mean how couldnt i have ? lol!
Sounds great, very jangly. Really enjoy your channel, always on the lookout for more unusual instruments. I used to collect Danelectros-the reissues-but found the neck shape and feel varied tremendously between different editions, largely I think because they were built at random plants to order (Korea and China). The lipstick pickups are great as well, but to my ear over time did lack a certain degree of focus due to how they're wound. My thing now is Steinbergers, all varieties thereof, which is how I found you. You might want to check out some of the modern headless instruments as well, just for variety-Ibanez have introduced a new model, and Mayones out in Poland also make some interesting stuff. The history of some of these innovations is also interesting by itself, EMG pickups for example.

Thanks for the feedback. It's been tough finding new guitars, prices are crazy right now, but I live in hope of scoring some cool new guitars!
Hi, I'm interested in where you got the image from 6 secs in? It looks very like a guitar I own! They are great to play.
It's my guitar, the guitar I review in this video.
