The laying under a car, laughing deliriously when things aren't going your way, using your leg to operate the jack, man...we can all relate to Sreten on that one, we've all been there. The giggle during the first drive makes it all worth it! This is definitely our favorite project of yours and the best ending we could have imagined with the tribute to Sabine. Well done. Can't wait to host you here in Va at BimmerWorld soon! "Came from the factory with a CEL on" - Jason must be confusing this beautiful piece of BMW engineering with a VW!
The first paragraph had me laughing because I feel it so much with some of the things I’ve done on my E92 335i N54 😅 especially when I was doing suspension and rear wheel bearings. Mostly the bearings were a NIGHTMARE!
Aside from reviving the mighty M5, we can't forget the little things Streten has done, like reaching out to Sabine's family for their blessing. A gentleman.
I agree. I’ve been watching Sereten for YEARS and I’m amazed he doesn’t have more subscribers considering he has probably the best car channel on UA-cam.
I think its cause all the twelve year olds that follow channels like, goonzquad, AdamLZ and TJ Hunt, just want to see all the pretty cars with the huge body kits go vroom vroom really loud with the crackle pops. When whistlindiesel has more subs than M539, that should tell you everything you need to know about kids these days and how our parents have failed us. Wow that got deep.
My son and I went to a BMW day at Silverstone race circuit in the UK in 2006. Sabine was there with a white E60 M5 and offering hot laps on the F1 circuit. We went out with her twice. Sabine's car control was amazing, we spent most of the lap looking out the side windows so see track coming up. I will never forget that experience. The M5 had to be rested once every hour to allow the tyres and brakes to cool down. Happy days. Sabine was lovely and engaged with us through out the drive and even during power slides, pure class.
Have to admit I felt a bit of added moisture in my eyes when the tribute was fully revealed. That is a thing of beauty and such a fantastic tribute to Sabine. Awesome job !
You do realize that you and this car will in fact become a legend now. The legend of the man who fixed an m5 in 4 days, and drove it to car week. Against all odds, and won. It will be a story spoken of in garages across the world, with reverence, awe, and a bit of disbelief. Bask in the glory sir. You have most certainly earned it!!!! 😀🥃
I had the honor and the pleasure to ride beside Sabine in an E60 M5 on an airfield in Germany. She did not hold back and in the second or third corner we spun off the track, mowing down a taxi light. She just laughed, drifted back on track, lit the tires and off we went... what a blast...
im lucky enough to have done a lap with Sabine. Seeing that car again and hearing her voice has just brought up such emotions that im sat at my desk weeping. What a fantasic tribute Streten.
Sreten you are a gentleman, what a lovely tribute to Sabine. You are already revered in BMW circles for what you have taught many of us through your love of spannering, but you brought tears to my eyes with this tribute. There is such a lot of negativity and falsehoods in the world but you are a breath of fresh air and deserve all the success you are having. Bravo chap, and if you ever do a UK trip I know many of us over here would love to meet you and shake your hand.
Probably the best revival ever, not the biggest project you've ever done but the biggest impact. Having witnessed Sabine in action and hearing her say "last lap on a Sunday, there's no saving the tyres now." with a wry grin on her face, I was genuinely choked to see this car with her beautiful face on the side of it. Thank you for saving the car, thank you for the tribute to a wonderful lady and thank you for all that you do.
Shout out to Jason Cammisa for hosting Sreten and allowing us to see the result. Jason's comments in the background are hilarious too! Another awesome build Sreten!
Honestly i don't understand how you made a 1 hour video feel like 5 minutes. Love your content Sreten and keep up the great work! Love the tribute to Sabine.
I am more amazed by how perfectly he pronounced "Vorsprung durch Technik". The "ch" sound is pretty difficult for non-native speakers. EDIT: Apparently he lived in Germany for some time and speaks the language fluently.
@@OhMyKMPR I can't remember which video it was, but the last time Sreten was there (and also drove that tiny 3cyl thingy on the highway), Jason talked about an old Mercedes and its history and randomly blurted out "weil er so süß aussah" in damn near perfect German as a statement the previous owner made about the car. Caught me off guard just as much as the "Vorsprung durch Technik" in this video lol
Sabine was such a beautiful spirit; so full of life. Her legacy lives on, and what a beautiful way to pay tribute. Fantastic video. Entertaining as always.
Without a doubt, each time Sreten puts out another episode featuring an s85 another enthusiast gets closer to bringing himself into debt to buy an E60 M5. What an episode!
This is me. Just bought an s85 6 speed e60 to fix and drive because of his videos. Inspiring. The biggest thing he revealed by working on these cars is the robustness of the car with just a little bit of TLC.
After being subscribed for shoot, 2-3 years now??? I think this may be my favorite project of yours Sreten. Grew up loving the idea of the Ring Taxi and the E60 was the most iconic one to me at least. Loved seeing you pay tribute to it and to the late great Sabine! Gotta admit I shed a tear multiple times watching this, and I could feel your pain at the end leaving it behind. Really hope the new owner treats it well and appreciates one of your greatest works!
I shed a few tears over the livery, and a few hundred more hearing her voice again. RIP to such a beautiful human being, and kudos to you for....all of this. Thank you!
Sabine Schmitz, "Queen of the Nürburgring," left a lasting legacy in the world of motorsport that goes far beyond the titles she won or the records she set. She was not just a racing driver but a vibrant personality who brought passion, humour, and boundless energy to everything she did. Sabine Schmitz was a force of nature, and the track will never be the same without her. But her spirit endures in every lap taken by those who, like her, know that driving isn’t just about speed-it's about heart. This car epitomises her spirit. I was devastated when I leaned of her death. I was genuinely sad to the point of tears. I wanted to ride the taxi ring with her at the wheel, but sadly that ship has sailed. Thank you Sreten.
You are not just one of the best mechanics …. You are an artist and entertainer as well. Extraordinary. Very entertaining. Love and respect from Frankfurt/ Germany.
It teared me up to see Sabine, I got to know her through Top Gear special and she was so wonderful and smiling all the time. So sad and yet glad to see this tribute car what an awesome person you are Sir to create this wonderful living room!!!
Thanks to your videos I contracted the same illness and bought myself an e39 530i, which had been taken down by the dreaded oil pump failure. Amazingly, the engine is healthy and all I had to do was service the oil pump and swap rod bearings. I've put over 3000km on it already and I'm loving it. Thank you Sreten, without these videos I would've never had the bravery to even try.

Thank you Shreten for honoring Sabine Smith with your repaired M5. Well, who wouldn't follow your channel, whose videos are always waiting for a new episode 🇫🇮
Sreten, I always enjoy your content, but THIS series was truly special and the tribute to Sabine was touching. The true measure of your character shows by your contacting the family and getting permission. I expect they are honored by your efforts. Keep up the awesome work, best channel on youtube for my time!
There’s only one person in the world who could have done this and this is you! You are legend! Absolutely outstanding entertainment and what a beautiful homage to Sabine.

What a legend - humility combined with extreme skills and feel for details such as Sabine. This is why the outer world is reaching out with helpful hand - it has to be quite an honor be part of something bigger.
This is what Petrolheads breathe for and this channel is just a true essence of it. Amazing built and repair of course with issues and problems as it always is with cars. Then the great moment of enjoyment when the car finally runs as it should, and finally taking all of that together to pay the tribute to Sabine - just fantastic. Thank you Sreten you are the top G of automotive youtube. Cheers Petrolheads!
This series has been perfection. Reviving a legendary BMW against all odds giving tribute to Sabine has been wonderful too watch. Plus, you and Jason make a great team! Looking forward to the next idea you cook up together!
This is by far the most amazing BMW M5 customization I have seen, beautiful tribute to the Queen of the Ring. Congrats ! As a proud owner of a BMW M6 V10, I can confirm that the sound of the engine live is just intoxicating. Once it enters your mind, you cannot forget it. I will never get rid of this car.
You have quickly become one of my favorite channels on UA-cam, I wasn't a big BMW guy before I discovered your videos but now I'm looking for one of my own (e46 or e90) You've also permanently changed my wrenching habits for the better, I used to cut a lot of corners when working on vehicles but now I take pride in doing it by the book.
Such a bittersweet ending to an amazing series. I can't imagine leaving a beautiful project like that behind but it sounds like it is going to a great home.
Out of all the builds this one will stand out forever the tribute is insane. Forever the Queen R.I.P gone too soon😢❤. I really really hope you get that call one day
You're a great guy with an awesome community, I'm following you since the beginning of the channel. The quality, the entertainment.. It just keeps getting better, and this project, the tribute to Sabine Schmitz, it's just breathtaking. Keep it up, you are awesome!
Sreten, we all really loved this! The Ring Taxi tribute to Sabine was out of this world and just left me in agony. I clearly remembered how sad I felt when the news about her untimely death made the news here. Your tribute was awesome, and comforting. It was the very right thing to do, THANKS.
BMW owners here in NYC have an awful reputation. You sir have made me change the pov of BMW owners. You workmanship is above and beyond. your passion for cars resonates with me in a special way. thank you for making these videos. like other comments have said, you allow us to forget about daily problems for a few minutes. thank you for everything.
What a tribute. Truly respectful. Like many I guess, knew about Sabine from Top Gear. Their tribute was very emotional, yours too. Love your channel, even though not a BMW owner. Your channel also attracts car people, and I look forward to your uploads. All the best Sreten from Perth West Australia.
What a beautyful idea to honor Sabine with this incredible project. Some parts of the video really moved and got me emotional. Once more i have to say, that you are a geat guy and despite i am not related to cars in anyway, i love to watch you in your videos. You are a great enrichment to the world of car reltated videos. Thank you so much!
Dude, watching Jason hoon this thing around public roads was incredible - and that's not to say the rest of the video isn't some of the greatest automotive UA-cam content of all time, because it is. But watching the two of them giggling on off/on ramps was just incredible. Truly next level stuff Sreten. Thank you for giving us this content. It helps me sleep at night and keeps my passion for BMWs alive. It really is the best in the business.
The Best Video I’ve seen made by you . I don’t know how you could part with such a Beautiful Car with the Spirit of the Queen of the Nuremberg Circuit . Had a lump in my Throat and a Tier in my Eyes . What a Fantastic Tribute to a Wonderful Lady
I really enjoyed this short series! You did a yeoman's job given all your constraints. I saw a comment on the first video disparaging Jason. I guess there are always "haters" I think that he came across as a very nice, generous man. Way to go everyone who pitched in to get this project completed, including the sponsors especially Bimmer World.
What a journey! It's amazing what you managed to pull off, truly a one-of-a-kind, and I'm glad it now is in the hands of someone who will take good care of it.
This car sits inside BMW of Spokane’s showroom. The fact that you have risen to a point of your work being showcased in a “call for price” car, is simply amazing. Job well done Sreten. I hope to meet you someday.
Wow, just wow! Everything about this project is cool. What you did, where you did it, the result including the homage to Sabine Schmitz and your visit of the Monterey event. What a journey! Now try to find some rest and sleep well. Congrats for this project. Edit: I have to get this of my chest (with no idea if you read it). Life can be short and disappointing. Therefore it makes sense to try to live your dreams. You did so in a very impressive way by reviving these machines. While doing so you make experiences like this one that are amazing even if we followers experience them "only" second handed. But I think most of us are very happy, that you let us be a part of. Thanks a lot for sharing
Thanks Streten, that was a wonderful video of an amazing engine. I nearly lost it with the tribute to Sabine. I hired a BMW race car and drove the Ring. Sabine passed me while I was on the track. Even here in Australia, the Ring and Sabine are well known. And You too are becoming well known in BMW owners groups here.

As a proud owner of a BMW M6 V10, I can confirm that the sound of the engine live is just intoxicating. Once it enters your mind, you cannot forget it. I will never get rid of this car.
I was sitting at home, in the doldrums, when along you came and added the sparkle back to my day.
Your attitude and the Sabine taxi lifted me.
Thanks.
Brought tears to my eyes with the tribute to Sabine, so touching. This has to be some of your best work yet. Peace
Out of all the builds this one will stand out forever the tribute is insane. Forever the Queen R.I.P gone too soon😢❤. I really really hope you get that call one day
Awesome video, Thanks for the amazing honouring tribute of Sabine. Your channel truly deserves more recognition. Keep up the tremendous work. 💪
It's been a short but truly legendary series. One of the best automotive channels on UA-cam without doubt.
Sabine Schmitz would deserve to have a shrine at the Nür, she is The Lady of the Ring.
Touching tribute, we'll done. Thank you Jason and really happy this project was not long
Great tribute to a fantastic talented lady, sadly missed by many for her humor and superb driving skills.👍👍👍
Shout-out to Bimmer world for making this all possible this was by far my favorite project from sreten congratulations on getting it done
Incredible series, incredible car, incredible job. What an absolute pleasure this was to experience. Thanks for letting us come along for the ride!
You’re the man Streten! You can fix any BMW….anywhere in the world! I love your passion n work ethics….
It’s a good thing you have done for Sabine, well done, and respect to all the companies that have supported you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😎
Dude, watching Jason hoon this thing around public roads was incredible - and that's not to say the rest of the video isn't some of the greatest automotive UA-cam content of all time, because it is. But watching the two of them giggling on off/on ramps was just incredible. Truly next level stuff Sreten. Thank you for giving us this content. It helps me sleep at night and keeps my passion for BMWs alive. It really is the best in the business.
People like you deserve so much respect! Truly a self made man living his dream ✌️
This one hurt and cut deep i got teary eyed sabine was my hero what a lovely tribute sreten❤😢
Fantastisch, finally we get to see the final installment of Project Fresno. Beautiful homage to Sabine. Thanks, Sreten!
Wow, just wow! Everything about this project is cool. What you did, where you did it, the result including the homage to Sabine Schmitz and your visit of the Monterey event. What a journey! Now try to find some rest and sleep well. Congrats for this project.
Edit:
I have to get this of my chest (with no idea if you read it).
Scientific testing performed 👨🔬 Honestly, so cool that you once again revived this car, to honor the legend that is Sabine Schmitz 🏁
Final aiebag swap with battery connected? Living on the edge😂. But amazing series, dedication, and tribute to Sabine. Well done!
This channel deserves way more attention and subscribers. I’m an Audi fan boy but I love this guys content, attention to detail and pure genuine enthusiasm for cars. Keep up the great work homie 👍
Man, you made me tear up at the 50 minute mark. Thank you for this amazing series Sreten.
I'm speechless, this episode was such an emotional rollercoaster. Sreten is a superstar for what he's up to. Never stop
Was not expecting to see a Rover SD1 at 27:00
Love what you did to the BMW, such a fitting tribute to the memory the brilliant & beautiful Sabine.
Not sure what I like more.
This V10 sound.
Or your smile when you listen to it :D
As usual. Another great series!
Appreciate the livery too
Gotta love that engine note, V10 M6 convertible must be insane 🎺🎶
Just Fantastic to see you bring it back to life. Thank you, best on the internet in my humble opinion.
When some of my favourite youtubers post 78 minutes of content I think "this has to be endured". Sretin posts a 78 minute video, I think "Great, this is going to be pure enjoyment". And it is.
Thanks for all your work Sretin.
I am not an emotional person. But this brought tears to my eyes. Absolutely fantastic in every aspect.
my back and knees are in pain just watching this...LOL
Thank you for sharing a heartwarming story about Sabine, I'm searching for other videos on yt to learn more about her. As always, a great build.
This has to be the best video I've watched on your channel to date! Every time I tune in and see a video posted by M539 Restorations, I know I'm in for a treat and absolutely delighted that it's over an hour long! This was really special, each time you had goosebumps...yeah I had them too, you brought another amazing machine back to life and paid tribute to an amazing driver...ehm let me re-phrase that....the Queen of the Ring...RIP Sabine Schmitz, you are a legend and will stay in our hearts forever!
car, sound, gas, ... problems, solutions, fun, good friends, tribute to a legend, enthusiasm... Sreten, you made my day, again. I can really feel the love an enthusiasm you give to yourr projects and to your ideas. That's how it works. No scripts --> reality. That's real entertainment. Thank you. Greetings from Frankfurt to Frankfurt.
"Vorsprung durch Technik" in a PERFECT german Accent.
Jason, you are wild, man. Applause!
Only it's not an accent, he speaks German, having spent some years in his youth here.
@@monstermirror2 Ey that is cool! Most likely as a military man...
@@hawkertyphoon4537 nope. Much younger, and he lived there with his mum.
Man… I’m just overwelmed with this project. Your smile with the engine roaring is priceless. Plus I have to admit, a stuburn tear just surprise me with this beautiful and touching tribute to Sabine. God Bless you!❤
Fantastic work Sreten, great to see you save another V10 M5, and the Sabine tribute too was very touching. Manual swap touring next?
BEST Episode ever Sreten! Thanks, it was fun to watch, and what a nice M5 it is!
Say something about all these series - is like a say nothing. I am struggling to find a right words to describe what do i feel now, after watching this last episode. Perfection? Not enough.. Great job? Like say meaningless Hello. Just grab all good feelings and words you can imagine in your headbox and - they are all here. Just a huge human thanks for this series. Thanks to Top Gear team, so i do know who Sabine is. And this knowledge it made feelings about these series even warm... God Bless You, Sreten (all all people, who has been involved in this Project). God Bless You!
Dude! You and Jason and a tribute to the queen of the Ring… pure magic. Cheers!
This channel beats - hands down - Mat Armstrong or any of that ilk! Thanks!
i think they are good in both their own ways.
By far the BEST UA-cam Channel of all TIME!!!
