Honestly the iPad 9 is the best iPad for 99% of people. You got a headphone jack, the Home Button, the keyboard is fine, the apple pencil is fine. The iPad Air looks cool but you don't really need it, and the iPad Pro is just a waste of money.
@roseforyoubabe most people(including me) won't care about the bezels because the screen is still decently sizes. And 64g is plenty for basic documents and downloading a couple of movies. Also you can do a lot of that on the cloud and the 256g is always a option but I do think there should be a micro sd slot or atleast a 150g option
I just finished a year of grad school in international relations with no laptop, just a 64GB iPad 9, knockoff “Apple Pencil”, and Logitech Combo Touch case. This little device and particular setup is so powerful that it’s actually my main device. I’ve used it for all my papers, readings, job applications, and presentations. Lots of highlighting, annotating, scribbling on the sides of PowerPoints in OneNote. My friends and I have even watched lectures and movies on it. I’m not a big gamer, so 64GB’s been more than enough. I have enough room to download a few movies on Netflix and do some light sketching on it. It is capable of so much more than I think people realize and I will love mine forever
I have an iPad 9 (that I’m using to watch this video) which I’ve had for a year now, and I love it! Performance is still good, and the battery lasts me most of the day on my days off work, otherwise it only needs charged about every other night. I’m going to let this iPad age some before I upgrade.

yall people underestimating the amount of stuff you can get done on this. it's beautiful for reading books and watching videos, get a knockoff stylus with good reviews and a nice case (and a keyboard if you will need it) and you've made yourself an investment for the next five years. remember to take care of the battery properly and trust me the ipad 9 is a gift that keeps on giving. bought mine back in dec 2022 and i use it for videos and notes for my dental school and it has not let me down ever. if you're gonna play games and store a lotta pictures and videos I'd recommend the 256 gb version but otherwise, 64 is MORE THAN good enough for the next four to five years. will definitely suggest one even now in late 2024 simply because of just how much it gets done for it's price point.
Honestly, I also use an iPad 9 in 2024, mainly as my drawing device with ProCreate and the Apple Pencil. It replaced my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 which a got for Christmas in 2015 when I was in 6th Grade. I replaced the Tab 4 7.0 with the iPad in Christmas 2021, and despite the screen being non-laminated and the bezels being thick, I still use it for art with the Apple Pencil regardless.
this ipad is still good and its still serves me this 2024 i used to play games watching video and listening to music all are well balanced and good for price its not much difference to 9th gen
A few weeks ago, I went through a long process of researching and comparing iPads. I ended up buying the iPad 9 base model on Amazon for $250 brand new, and I do not regret it. I found that I vastly overestimated how much I would use the iPad for, and I am glad I did not spend $500+ on an Air or used Pro. If you’re hesitating like I did, I recommend you buy the 9.
I have a Mac desktop, Iphone and the Ipad 9. We use our Ipad to show our photography clients their images at their session. We have our Canon camera wirelessly synced to the Ipad. Clients love holding it and swiping to see the images we photographed of them instead of looking at a small screen on the back of our camera.
I just "updated" my ipad pro 10.5 (2017) to this ipad 9th gen both 64 gb Edit: No flash light is a dealbreaker BUT too late for me. All good. This is "newer" technology for me to play and work with. Good luck with everyone else!
The point is: Apple products always work cleanly and reliably, even in old age, like a well-oiled machine. I recently tried out the Samsung Tab S9 in an electronics store. As soon as I touched it, the first micro-jerks appeared and the stuttering started, as always.... Nah, give it a rest. I'd rather have a year-old iPad that works.

I have bought mine to replace a Surface Pro 3 with decomposed keyboard and a spot on the screen like a finger constantly touching the screen.I couldn’t afford a new Surface Pro or even a refurbed 5 or 6. I have accessed my 365 through the. Pad and so I’m not dicking around finding documents. I self publish so the. Next hurdle is uploading to Amazon but I can keep the old SP for that until. I figure it out. Ten hour battery if versus 2-3 hours, no clunky charging block and a $5 pen means I don’t even need a mouse. So I’m. Happy.

I had the 2nd Generation iPad Air 2 that I had bought back in 2016, and I updated to the 9th Generation mid-to-late May of 2024 along with the 1st gen pencil. And I’m a teenager, so I can’t tell you how well it is for working but for the entertainment or studying / notetaking part it’s AMAZING. The games work well, I’m not much of a gamer as my main games are Roblox, Minecraft, PubG and rhythm games such as Project Sekai or Superstar. But it honestly has everything you could ask for. For me, I find it tacky when I have to swipe up and wait and hold for stuff as basic as accessing the app navigation thingy, and I just use normal wired headphones when I’m outside or visiting family. So I’ll be really damned when I have to let go of this model to upgrade in a few years when it loses support. Nothing bad about upgrading, but it’s gonna be annoying for me for sure. I also produce music and most apps for that work pretty well on here, no delays or anything. I might be biased because my previous iPad was hanging by a thread after using it for 8 years, this one just seemed too well to be true.
I got one for $200 cash sealed brand new on Facebook marketplace. Bought the pencil. This thing is STILL a powerhouse for that price. Was gonna get a 10 but got this and I’m gonna see what the 11 brings. Can’t complain about paying $200 for this! Is the look dated? Sure but it doesn’t feel dated.

I have both. S6 lite (p619) bought last year is slower and started making problems. Lags. Bought iPad 9 and no problem. Simply Works and does what I need. Only cellular option is too expensive for me.

The Ipad is the better option hands down. I don’t see why people harp over the laminated screen. The iPad is better in every way including the screen, the only thing you’re missing is external storage. The IPad 9 is like a big iPhone 11, Samsung budget tabs are more competitive with the kindles. I would rather purchase a 2018 iPad Pro than a 2021 iPad. Apple tablets, smartphones, and smartwatches these days are getting more and more timeless that I wouldn’t call you crazy if you were to consider purchasing a Apple device made 8-9 years back. The iPhone X still holds up very well and the iPhone 6s Plus is still flawless even in 2024. Hopefully, Apple can one day make a tablet that supports not 4, not 6, and not 8, but 25 years of iPadOS updates!

Sorry to comment on an old question, but I bought a Tab S9 FE 2 weeks ago to replace my (still fairly good) 6th Gen 128 GB iPad. I had to exchange the brand new Tab S9 FE for a another brand new one because the first one had serious Wifi connection issues. It would drop off frequently and completely disconnect and I could never get anything higher than a 360p resolution rate on UA-cam. Even when setting manually setting the resolution higher, it would drop back down within a minute or two. The fingerprint sensor rarely worked, either. The new one is just as bad and also extremely laggy and clunky, with the exception of now getting 480p on UA-cam. It's getting returned tomorrow *sigh*. I'm really trying to leave Apple, but looks like I'm exchanging this for another iPad. Just frustrating that my 6 year old entry-level iPad and 8 year old ThinkPad are waaayy more reliable than 2 brand new Tab S9 FEs. The only redeeming value is the S-Pen. It's the only thing that works well on this tablet. Hope you found something that works for you for studying!

@@maviemidzz both are good. but regard production ending it will sure end soon but till this date its still be selling where I live and if happned and they selling it you can still buy new used in mint condition. Ipad 9 is for students and because of 4:3 ratio you can take notes easier vertically. xiaomi is definitely better for content consumption/streaming because of higher Ppi and 16:10 ratio, DCi-P3 technology, HDR10+ and dolby vision support so it really depends your priorities. also depends on price difference.

@@labananedz install ios 18.0.1 on it when i brought ipad 9 from the electronic store in October 2023, it has ios 16.4 if i remember right since ipad 9 was still produced (until i think march 2024) i forget to see the version properly before installing ios 17 at the time. installed ios 18 on it now

i have had some glitches with ipads, but yes they are fairly reliable in most cases

Honestly I have the iPad 9th generation iPad 256gb space grey but I was quite not impressed by it, it freezes, lags and runs quite slow ussually, anyways it's kind of a baby or kids ipad, I would rather recommend the iPad air, even the iPad 10, anyways comment your opinion.
