I can see Stamkos going to Florida as a big FU to Tampa and he would move to a contending team for next season. He also remains in Florida. Can't see him going to the Leafs. Detroit or Chicago could be possible as well.
Only a non-contending team would make the mistake of taking him. Contending teams will not take a guy near the end of his career like that, at any price .
@@parkersmith-gp9xb ah right, a 40 goal scorer is totally not worth it... He still plays 79/80+ games a year & puts up pts, for 4/5 million he's totally worth it
lol at the TSN insight. The Montreal fanbase isn't 'demanding a turnaround' they want the right pieces in place and great prospects, they've witnessed the Bergevin dismantling for 12+ years, they aren't wanting a quick fix.
I think Montreal fans by and large have been remarkably patient. What they could use is some scoring and a blue chip goalie prospect, who would be ready in a year or 2. Can't wait too much longer or Suzuki and Caufield will be gone or too old!
Montreals path to success is a slow rebuild. Do it the right way, and time your peak team performance as Boston, Tampa, Toronto decline. Trying to rush back to the playoffs in the Atlantic right now is foolish - ask Detroit and buffalo
Uhh?? Do you not know? Stamkos has been a leaf fan his whole life and his #1 dream always as a child has been to play for the leafs and he would do it no matter what to make his only dream finally come through.
Tampa isn't going to win the Cup again with Stamkos, and Stamkos isn't going to win the Cup again with Tampa Bay. They should have traded him for some youth.
They have a better chance without him. They have too many superstars to pay. Someone has to go. They can sign a good defensemen and forward for their depth. Which they are lacking.
Tanev’s a great choice for the Leafs if they want a guy to play maybe 50 games per season.
And some of the Playoffs
The latest on Stamkos ? Nothing has been determined, just the same as it was a year ago. What an amazing piece of investigative journalism.
You're a loser :)
Stamkos to Boston would be really interesting
We don't need a quick turnaround in Montreal, hosers. We are not Toronto.
Ah yes Torontos quick turnaround from 2004-2016 ….get a clue

If the Leafs dont make sense Detroit and Chicago don't make sense either. I'm a leafs fan and I'd love to see him in Florida

A lot of Habs fans are experiencing the same Russian hype with Demidov, as they did last year with Michkov. Personally, I'd be happy with Tij Iginla.
That would have been my pick. Russian players are always an asterisk pick

He will sign with a contender
If Canucks get back Tanev and Stamkos, my world would be complete

Any leafs trades for the leafs tonight? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Stamkos to Nashville make it happen.
The money isn't there for Leafs for anything. They don't have money to spend on actual decent d man.
"Leafs?"... what a loser. Why on earth would Stamkos land there?

Zadarov, Montour, Stamkos and Marchessault are all coming to Toronto!
How?
Have you heard of the salary cap?
Sure we all have, but Treliving hasn't. Spends like a drunk college girl with her first credit card. Free money baby!
This is a typical Toronto fan comment. Not the brightest bunch.
Not unless Marner is traded first, and even then, this is a tall order.
Buy out Reilly
Toronto should lure pk subban out of tv please
So we dont have to listen to him anymore with his horrible hockey talk
