We got taught how to do this in a science lesson. 30x 15 year olds all given 6 plug, wire, fuse, and screwdriver.
In a science lab.
With live sockets on each desk.
I’m still amazed no one got shocked.

i have grown to hate the molded plugs we have in the US. we at least have warded sockets now so kids can't stick things in the hot or neutral hole, but our plugs all being molded plastic means repair is a nightmare. replacement plugs are MASSIVE compared to our normal molded ones, and rarely fit anywhere useful. also having a fuse directly in the plug is brilliant, and we at least do that for all of our DC plugs for cars.

We have moulded plugs in the UK too. I agree they don't always fit some spaces with a rigid flex. I personally prefer the self wire plugs. Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated. 👍
