I love the way they revealed Poof’s return. The music cues, the zoom-ins, it’s all paced like a Smash character reveal, you can tell they were proud of it.
Remember, Anti Fairies are supposed to be the antithesis of their counterparts; if Cosmo is a jubilant idiot, then Anti Cosmo is a scheming manipulator, you get the idea. So, if Peri is suave, charming and a sharp dresser, then Anti Peri (I refuse to call him Irep...) looking the way he does makes perfect sense.
I'm kinda curious why Irep didn't choose his new name to be Anti Peri, it would probably be better aswell. Maybe one day they make an episode where he actually looks like an Anti Peri and not Steve Minecraft (just like any other anti fairy does) and gets go properly change his name
@TheBacon407 I'm just wondering why Irep chose to change his name in the first place because wouldn't the antithesis of Peri be him keeping his old name...?
@SpicyyWaffles he says in the episode he appears in that he hates the new name change, which implies that if a fairy changes their name, their anti fairy equivalent *has* to change it, and since his name was poof's name backwards, now his name has so be Peri's name backwards
That’s Cope if I ever heard it. The only reason they kept his head square was not to make some grand contrast between him and Peri, it’s because they wanted to keep the gag of his body being a cube going. In universe with the way that fairies an anti-fairies age, his head looking like a cube doesn’t make any sense.
@oreomega2545 idk, I like his cube head. Makes him feel more cringefail and like an absolute silly dork, which fits for him being in contrast to Peri imo. Also I just love silly design choices like that gjzfbsbdn
i think what helps is as far as i can tell the fanservice isn't just taking over the story and is happening simply cause this is meant to be an actual sequel and not jsut a soft reboot of the show
It's amazing to see how New Wish managed to turn Poof/Peri from a character"I didn't care any bit about"from the original show (although I have nothing against Baby Poof) into one of the most charismatic and genuine characters of the franchise.😊 Literally the Cosmo from Oh Yeah Cartoons with a super charming purple design.⭐
Poof in the original wasn’t a bad character by any means but as a baby there wasn’t much you could do with him. Now that he is grown up there is a plethora of potential there.
@@melissamurray8307 Poof was limited in what they could do with him, but he was the best addition to the show, imo. Sparky was dumb, we really didn't need a second Cosmos. He added nothing. Chloe was mishandled at every level. Poof at least gave us some interesting and fun stories that they couldn't tell otherwise... untill the whole show started going down hill. Also one thing I want this show to give us, that the original didn't; since we're likely to get more Anti-Fairies... Anti-Jorgen.

Gotta love how in CJ's first appearence in the reboot one of the many accolades that shows up around him is one that says "remember him from the original series?"
It’s incredibly cathardic to see a series like The Fairly Oddparents be given a breath of new life after a decade of being bled dry. We are so back guys.
@@nostalgiamostalgia0319I truly wish Seasons 9 and 10 are buried as well, but from what I’ve read in other comments, it seems like the writers want to bring back Sparky and Chloe, and for what exactly??? I hope and pray they don’t because there is simply no need. Season 6 was the last good season of the original. Seasons 7 and 8 were meh at best. But Seasons 9 and 10 are where the show truly hit rock bottom.
I still wish it ended with channel chaser and I still count that as the final to the whole series. I personally have zero interest in this new show especially since I find the visuals so ugly.
I think the point forward i like with Dev and Hazel is that the characters are meant to represent both sides of timmy. Hazel is his more good hearted, kind and loving side of timmy wanting to do wishes that do good for people, while Dev represents Timmys more selfish, power abusing and rule breaking side of timmy.
I love how it's both based off of their environment too. Timmy's parents while neglectful wasn't always so bad to him as it was usually just Vicky who'd made his life miserable, so I like how Hazel's family shows the good aspects of his childhood, while Dev is solely the negative things in it.
The best part about Vicky's reappearance is that the writers REMEMBERED that she is supposed to act nice around unsuspecting adults and kids to let their guards down before she strikes. The reason why I bring that up is because in Certifiable Super Sitter (the final time she was plot-relevant), Vicky is NOT even hiding her true evil nature from Mr. Turner and he does literally nothing about it. And that was ALSO Poof's final appearance until New Wish, and Poof’s only plot purpose was to do nothing but make random impressions of famous people.
I did NOT expect this show to actually have a plot with DRAMA. I really hope Dev and Hazel become friends or at least something like Shadow and Sonic's relationship when they aren't exactly friends, but will help each other out when they need to. It would certainly be more interesting than Dev becoming a full on rival. And he doesn't really deserve to have NO friends; he's just a kid who's the product of his environment. These writers have me full on stressin for these kids lol. And for Peri. It's his first Godkid, so you know he's gonna make mistakes. But you want him and Dev to be as close as Wanda and Cosmo are to Hazel and were to Timmy. But Cosmo and Wanda have DECADES of experience under them Peri does not. So he has that room to grow. I know people are disappointed in Irep's design, but let's be honest. One tumblr sexyman is more than enough for a show. If this show had TWO characters that could become tumblr sexymen...I'm not sure the internet would've been able to handle it.
I’m still surprised how invested I am in Hazel and Dev’s friendship, but I can’t help it! They’re so wholesome and it makes me sad since Hazel’s was Dev’s first true friend. I really hope they can either make up at the end of the season or at least have set up for maybe Dev to reflect on himself and eventually be friends with Hazel next season. Just pleaseeee don’t make him a one note antagonist with wasted potential for a redemption(I can’t go through another Chloé Bourgeois).
@@Rosa-he6xbliterally in the same boat. Was squealing during their fountain scene. When he took the glasses off and had the wobbly smile just. DALE YOUR SON IS PRECIOUS DAMMIT TREAT HIM BETTER.
@lifeisadrag7705 the fact that he had the SAME intro had me dying. Show is rather funny. Crocker calling Timmy every other T name was a riot too. I'm simple to please lol
I hope Timmy shows up and does absolutely nothing important except maybe like, hazel running into him by accident and dropping cosmo and wanda as school supplies and timmy picks them up to help, looks at the supplies suspiciously for a quick second, then smiles and hands them back to hazel and walks away in a way leaves it up to the viewer's interpretation whether or not he remembers them or not, it needs to have that energy or they should save him for much later for something really important
I think they should have only one special episode about him. Timmy is a stay at home dad that swore on his life to give his kid a good childhood he didn't receive. By whatever the plot is on the episode, hazel meets him and in a moment of weakness, Timmy tells her he fondly remembers his 3 pet fish that gave him so much comfort in the darkest of times or something. He wishes Hazel well, Cosmo, Wanda and Peri get emotional and have to hold themselves back from hugging him or something, and they each go their separate ways.
Omfg, I just thought of a special where adult Timmy gets temporary memory back because of some shenanigans and has a heartfelt reunion with Cosmo and Wanda (and Peri) and sharing what a difference they made in his life, like gaining back this part of himself he didn't know he was missing and knowing he's going to lose it again and- ah god I'm crying now
I'm in the minority of people who think Timmy shouldn't return. But if he does, I think he should be a stay-at-home dad, because he definitely wouldn't trust a babysitter. But also, he'd be able to spend time with his kids, unlike his parents (for the most part), and he "grants wishes" for them. Like one of his kids wants a giant snake, so he rolls up a blanket and puts googly eyes on it. Or just simply, the kids wish for guava juice and he makes it for them.
I agree! While I would really want to know if he's at least doing fine in the world, in my opinion I think it would be best if he made a cameo is that he isn't interacting with Hazel or the fairies, as much as that would be nice. We could just see a cut away with Timmy reacting to an aftermath of whatever hijinks happened in the episode and it would be good enough for me.
I agree. I don’t think he needs to show up in the show. Personally the references of the old show itself feel better than having him forced into the series lmao
I think it’s actually very possible for the pixies to return. It’s been theorized that the original series and a new wish take place around thirty years apart so they can very easily round that up to 37 so that H.P and Sanderson’s next 37 year plan can take action
Maybe that's what the fianle could entail? I can adult Timmy appearing in the fianle and getting roped into the adventure with Hazel. I think at first he wouldn't remember Cosmo, Wanda, and Peri, but maybe either after seeing the fairies or Hazel wishes for him to remember(and finding out he's Cosmo's and Wanda's former godkid) Timmy, Cosmo, Wanda, and Peri get have one final adventure together and then at end of the fianle say their final goodbyes. I feel that'd be a good way to bring Timmy back but not have him stick around longer than he needs too. Just have him reunite with his fairy family and then they go they're separate ways. It could also show that Timmy had matured over the years from being an adult and can stand on his own now. This could be the best future Timmy, one that doesn't follow in the footsteps of his parents but his "true" family.
@@LemeAndCatyou have to remember that fairies are basically immortal and live thousands of years. So 37 really isn’t much at all in the grand scheme of things
I feel like once they started to bring back old characters, especially Poof/Peri, people actually started to watch the show and say “Hey, this is pretty decent”
I'm utterly shocked that it wasn't just another IP being milked to death, and it has so much care and thought put into it. Now we just need studios to realize fans want more of that.
I want Timmy's cameo to be inconsequential, and also take up a good minute. Some magic nonsense flies by a restaurant and he tells Tammy and Tommy "this is why we don't live here anymore". Then they make a call back joke to episode one about the waiter not finishing college
The fact that they reference Icky Vicky twice in the same episode AND also play the song during the montage of Hazel and her friends messing with Vicky not only had me smiling but also asking myself, "When was the last time Chip Skylark was ever plot-relevant in the original series?" It's also nice to know Vicky STILL hating the singer. The reason I bring that up is that in one season 7 episode, it's apparently revealed that Vicky is still a huge fan of Chip Skylark, despite the song, Icky Vicky, which is a song about Chip Skylark's hatred of her as well as the fact that she no longer liked him after discovering he is not all that rich, which does not make any sense.
For Sparky at least, he could’ve undergone self-discipline and become as obedient as a Police K-9, probably somewhat embarrassed and ashamed of his wilder days.
There was a Danny Phantom comic book released last year, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Nickelodeon bringing it back. Though I hope that if they bring it back they keep it 2D since, while A New Wish looks great, I don't think the limited animation 3D would work with DP, especially considering A New Wish animators mentioned they worked with a relatively small budget
@@pablocasas5906 I can't even imagine what they would've created with a mid to high budget. The show is already one the most appealing looking 3D animated show I've seen
It really says A LOT when this has more love and respect for the original compared to that live-action sitcom that didn't even last 15 episodes and was buried in less than a year.
The fact they made Poof have an actual personality now is awesome. Not to mention the new show has surprisingly good continuity. It’s getting the storylines we wished we had in the original
I really hope Chester can have a wonderful future on this show in a future episode. I think it would be great if he was considered one of the greatest baseball players in history here.:)

This is what the Rugrats reboot should have been: new generation, same premise but now the OG babies are all the adults with witty banter and fanservice references. Shin Reptar
Man, with this whole Anti-Peri thing, I could very easily see it where Peri and him are a kind of shoulder angel & shoulder devil scenario, where Dev could want to do something that's bad, Peri could tell him no, and Anti-Peri could goad him further into doing it. Also, why isn't he called Anti-Peri? Every other Anti-Fairy is just called the same name but with Anti in front of it.
@@porygon-z8270 Yeah, but why isn't he called Anti Poof at this point? I know it was established in his introductory special, but Irep is such a stupid name
I remember watching DuckTales 2017 and seeing all of the fanservice in that show, with so many characters and cameos from various Disney Afternoon shows. It was neat, but those shows were a bit before my time. It’s really cool to see the Internet so excited about another series doing something similar!
@@james656-k8e Yeah, I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's because The Owl House and Amphibia got super popular around the same time, and they overshadowed DuckTales. It could also be that DuckTales had fanservice to slightly older viewers, rather than teenagers. Teenagers dominate a lot of social media discussion.
if I had a nickel for every time my most favorite shows are over shadow by two other most popular shows from the same studio , I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
If Timmy does make an appearance, they should continue the joke of Channel Chasers' ending and make it ambiguous if he married Trixie or Tootie, with contradictory clues for either possibility.
You know it’s legitimately nice to see the internet band together to praise something instead of bashing/screaming cancellation (even more impressive since most were understandably skeptical about this right after fairly odder)
@@HarleyCringe Also very true. It's what got me watching the show in the first place. Can the next reboot just be about the Fairywinkle-Cosma family and their life in Fairyworld?
Yeah around the 17 minute I agree with you. I really do love how they are not ashamed of the shows history and just making it work this time around and not just a "He he remember how bad this is?" It makes it really interesting that they want this stuff to work now while making it sound like it was always a "Cool" thing.
A reboot actually done right. Love the new characters (especially hazel), callbacks from the original but ties in to the new plot, no character assassination, and the 3D art style is just chef's kiss!
Okay, I've only just now heard about this because of this video, but it sounds like the references are good because they aren't just cheap callbacks; they're used explicitly to further the plot. You can tell that these writers were truly passionate about the source material, and were inspired by it to continue the story. It's not a simple cash grab, there's real passion here.
Agreed! I personally think it's super cool that they're going back and reaching the potential the later seasons had with their ideas despite how crappy they originally were in execution due to series burnout. It's a bold move and I respect the hell out of them for it. THAT'S how you do fan-service!
This show took lessons from Cobra Kai. Introducing great new characters while also sprinkling in the old characters with a fresh new light. Also with a good story in between
I sincerely hope that the reason the reboot makes direct references to Timmy's image but refuses to tell what actually happened to him is because he's pretty much Godwin the Golden of his world and no matter what actually happened to him off-screen his world is forever tainted by his influence, and his influence just grows like tumors in random places.
As someone who had "poof" hurled at them as an attack, nobody was offended by Poof's name. It didn't need to change but it's fine that it did. Lots of people change their names when they grow up
I know we already had a blink and you miss it reference to Sparky but I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him return for real. Have Sparky come into Hazel's life, act all radical and in your face like he did in the original series only to have him realize that Hazel doesn't want or need his brand of chaotic energy so he learns to chill out and not act so try-hard around her. I honestly think it would be a kinda wholesome concept for an episode.
As someone who grew up with the original, A New Wish really is a love letter to the franchise. I never thought I'd be so invested in a sequel series of The Fairly Oddparents of all things, but here we are.
Actually, if i remember correctly, one of the showrunner's said that a new wish actually takes place in the channel chasers timeline. So seeing a Timmy that is actually happy will probably be more than likely.
Also the star wars shows are weekly for better and worse. The latter being the time between episodes letting the let's say fan wars heat up more than if the episodes were dumped out in one go. Look as someone who's not on either the positive or negative extremes but a bit mixed (the shows are mostly still entertaining but have issues to varying degrees) the let's say feud gets exhausting sometimes. I would like to see new star wars projects discussed and see discussed in a normal fan way without the sometimes toxic levels of extremes getting in the way
honestly, my favorit characters in the original odd parents WERE chester and aj due to them litteraly being polar opposits and still friends because timmy was also there friend, now im very concerned what there gonna do with aj, but i would find it AMAZING if he ended up being a baseball player like his dad was before he put on the bag, with how much he looked up to his dad despite his biggest faliure i wouldnt be suprised
18:42 "Alec Baldwin or not." I would just like to point out how Dale's VA, JP Karliak, can do an Alec Baldwin impression as he was the VA for Boss Baby in the Netflix series. Just causally sharing that information.
Imagine if there was an episode where Cosmo and Wanda tell Hazel about all of the horrific crap Timmy had to go through just to see how she would react to hearing that. Maybe it could tie into Hazel being grateful for how much her parents care about her in comparison to Timmy's parents, I don't know.
I like how they handled some characters that just… don’t want to change. Vicky was a horrible girl who abuses kids and only acts nice as a front and is obsessed with attention. Now she’s older and is now more methodical about exacting these plans instead of improving herself. It implies that while she grew up, she’s didn’t “grow up” like everyone else.
Although I'm now wondering if they're gonna stick with the "Foop/Irep is the only anti-fairy to not just be named anti- and then their counterpart's name" thing or rename Irep's parents to Omsoc and Adnaw. That particular inconsistency always annoyed me
It's great to see that like SpongeBob and the Simpsons, the Fairly OddParents had their chance at having a resurrection era for the franchise.😊 Peter Griffin:I'm still waiting for my resurrection era,Lois.
My theory is that this case was a rare chance where they could meet her as people Vicky never met and not draw suspicion. Vicky knew the turners and the neighborhood so Cosmo and Wanda couldnt strp in as his 'parents' or a concerned neighbor. But as 'chaperones' for a party they have that needed level of anonmity where they CAN step in without making her suspicious.
aside from what the other response said, I'd suspect that if they did do that, or told Timmy's parents, he'd lose Cosmo and Wanda as Vicky would likely be fired, and those two still did care about him a lot.
A New Wish: Low expectations, high pay-off. this series has blown me away at how well that revived a series that died in the water years ago. nobody feels too forced coming back & it doesn't overshadow anything nor treat the original characters like plot devices (much like Milo Muprhy's Law focusing on Doofenshmirtz & Perry entirely in like 20% of it's episodes). if there's one thing i'd say i dislike about the show, it's that i didn't get to feel any of the character reveals in full, which is moreso a problem with the internet than the show as a whole. i'm glad people are talking about the show so widely, though. i've watched 24 episodes as of far
I think it's really cool they try to use different aspects from all over the series history. Not many people would be that pressed if they focused on Season 1-5 fanservice but the fact they try to work with and expand on where the series kinda fell off is very commendable. I just personally hope it still tries to maintain its own identity well enough even though a lot of audience is being drawn in by returning characters.
I hope not 😭 Would make me feel sad that's where his character growth would end up at as an adult Like I think that would be interesting, but not necessarily the best choice out of others there can be if he reappears again.
That would be pretty cool if they have Crocker become more sympathetic in later episodes. Some of my favorite episodes in the original were when we saw Crocker being sympathetic like when we find out Timmy was the one who caused him to lose his fairies. There was also the time when Crocker had Poof with him for the day and finally caught a fairy, yet decided to let him go back to Cosmo and Wanda because he didn't want to separate their family. I'd love to see them go further with that, it's what made him my favorite character in the show.
@@magmamaze69 I also noticed that Wanda checked off "commit tax fraud" but hadn't checked off "feed Sparky" on that list. Crimes must be a higher priority to her, lol
I know somewhere down the line, there's going to be a cameo of Timmy Turner. Maybe as a finale or final episode. But I just hope it's more keen to the Channel Surfers Timmy rather than the old bus driver that everyone thought was Timmy. But considering the show put a lot of care and love with the writing, animation and characters, I'm sure they'll do a phenomenal job on Timmy's return... *And hopefully not have him be voiced by Drake Bell*
I doubt he would be keep for the very ending since that pretty risky to try if tehy get randomly cancelled like other cartoos, can see him showing in the ending of the season or in a big moment of season 2, but i doubt he will look like channel surfers since tahts an all buffed up timmy from the apocalipsis future, he would likely have a more casual adult design probably
Decent chance the rules got changed for near-world-ending cataclysm again. Otherwise, they might have to deal with the baggage of two fairy-versaries. It's supposed to be rare that kids even make it a year, but they're protagonists, so we'll see. If the games are canon, you can just bake the muffins with mildly magical (and apparently affordable(I guess they DO taste bad)) ingredients, so they'll appear if they need to.
Imagine being starved to death over a very long period of time before being dropped down in a buffet of the best food imaginable. That's what this show is.
I think the fanservice is recieved well cause it would be one thing to make a reboot of a perfect show that had an amazing finale just to constantly reference the original product, in that case just watch the original, but in the case of fairly oddparents they butchered (pun intended) the show so hard by the end, they basically disappeared a lot of the characters we grew to love or made them one dimensional and it ended in such an unceremoniously way being cancelled on a random bad episode about chloe, that tbh seeing those characters back is a nice way to know what happened to some of them, like its nice to think that AJ canonically grew up to be succesful instead of the last thing we remember about him is getting reduced to a background character
I heard about how Poof returns as an adult called Peri and that the show was really good, which was quite a pleasant surprise! I'm a big fan of the show as you are, LS Mark, and I remember coming back to the later seasons and thinking that the quality dropped severely as an adult...and then I avoided Season 10 like the plague because the flaws were so obvious now that they were hard to ignore. Fairly Odder was an even lower low that the franchise had, so to see this new show actually have a sense of quality and charm like the original few seasons (and Seasons 6-7 too) was quite a surprise! And it's also nice that they're embracing all things Fairly Oddparents, and not just the "Golden Age". It really shows that there are no bad ideas, only bad executions...and my god, was the execution in the later seasons absolutely horrid... It almost reminds me of how people hated Princess Elise from Sonic '06 for being a generic damsel in distress, her uncanny valley design, and the...most infamous part that I will not speak of. But then they showcased some cool anniversary art with her in a more cartoony style fitting to the Sonic series and the fans saw it as a step forward in improving her reputation. A New Wish seems to be kind of doing that, but for all of the characters and even locations from the original series, so it's nice to see them taking advantage of a timeskip to see just how the people of the past are doing in the future; it really makes the world feel alive and lived in. Now, I should give this show a watch sometime soon... :P
What’s funny is that the ending of Channel Chasers might still be canon given that Cosmo and Wanda were Timmy’s fairies until he was 17. The second he turned himself 18 in the DBZ parody, he didn’t recognize them. Ergo, it’s entirely possible for the future proposed by Channel Chasers to be the canon future; it’s just that Cosmo and Wanda might move onto Tammy and Tommy once Hazel grows up.
Its not just that they're reintroducing rhe classic characters into the new show, but also that they were able to tell some pretty good stories with them and the new characters, and Poof/Peri is a clear example of that.
I think the best way of having a chester cameo would be in a episode where hazel has to play on the school baseball team, chester being the nice coach that contrast with the ultra competitivo rival team that would be nice
I never thought this would ever Succeed as his Franchise was on Multiple Life Supports and Revived like Frankenstein’s Monster and that Sitcom was the Final Straw, this Series was the One Last Hope to prove us there’s Potential into FOP and it appears that they Took Notes from Sega to be Faithful to the Franchise’s Past and use its Lore to not Expand more Additions like Season 9 and 10 but utilized the Lore,Source Material, and Aspects of the Franchise to Explore New Heights, this Revival was a Gamble that has done Justice to the Fairly Oddparents in a Clever Way.
My favorite thing is when franchises delve deeper into things that didn’t work in the past. It always feels like a part of a series dies off when they decide to ignore the failed parts. I mean if Ben 10 ever gets another revival I would like to see some of the aliens from the reboot series even if that series overall was a snooze fest. You can always pan some gold out of the dirt in these bad parts.
Exactly, once a series starts reconning less popular entries with impunity it risks putting itself in the dark corner that the Terminator franchise lives in, eating its own tail with each new addition that will inevitably be subtracted when the next attempted reboot comes along.
I wish the janitor guy was Timmy to be honest. It leaves a good message that even if life doesn't work out quite how you envisioned it, you can still find happiness one way or another and despite him looking like the bad future Timmy and having a not that great job his character seems overall happy. It sucks that he exists solely to be a reference to Timmy despite not being Timmy.
Its such a breath of fresh air seeing a competent entry in the Fairly Odd Parents universe. This actually feels like the original series. I think the art style being so well done also helps, bc it also feels like the original. Usually in cases like these, i only watch reboots for the og characters, but i was pleasantly invested in the storyline with Dev and Hasel and ofc, Cosmo, Wanda, and Peri
I feel like the best way to add Timmy would be to take from Hassle in the Castle in which Hazel accidentally brings 10 year old Timmy back to life through a painting in the Timmy room. From then you can do your typical antics with him being mad Cosmo and Wanda are with someone else, and you can end it by them showing him his adult-self. This would make him realize that he ended up well because of Cosmo and Wanda. Idk just an idea tho
The show even somehow, made the show more Christian by hinting that the true forms of Cosmo and Wanda (and therefore all fairies) are actually biblically accurate angels. Like Wanda is a Power (flaming winged sword) and Cosmo’s a freaking Throne (many eyes surrounding circles, third highest in Christian hierarchy). Which actually FITS canon because it explains why Cosmo was so powerful as a baby, why Momma Cosma disapproved of Cosmo marrying Wanda (a Power is lower in the hierarchy so he’d be marrying down), and even casts the Anti-Fairies as demons and ALSO explains why Anti-Cosmo was their leader beyond being smart - he’s the counterpart of a Throne. The best part is that that little reveal WASN’T the focus yet FITS! And somehow done when Hartman had little or no involvement!

"Cheap Fan Service" in this case is just demonstrating the writers actually watched the original show
i think what helps is as far as i can tell the fanservice isn't just taking over the story and is happening simply cause this is meant to be an actual sequel and not jsut a soft reboot of the show
Loved when Peri said "Bababooey" in the reboot, definitely got fairly odd parents back into the swing of things

It's amazing to see how New Wish managed to turn Poof/Peri from a character"I didn't care any bit about"from the original show (although I have nothing against Baby Poof) into one of the most charismatic and genuine characters of the franchise.😊
Literally the Cosmo from Oh Yeah Cartoons with a super charming purple design.⭐
Poof in the original wasn’t a bad character by any means but as a baby there wasn’t much you could do with him. Now that he is grown up there is a plethora of potential there.
@@melissamurray8307 Poof was limited in what they could do with him, but he was the best addition to the show, imo. Sparky was dumb, we really didn't need a second Cosmos. He added nothing. Best description of foops new design
I think it's hilarious, they really wanted to keep the cube motif going and so they did
I think the point forward i like with Dev and Hazel is that the characters are meant to represent both sides of timmy.
To be fair, Timmy did wish for people to never age for 50 years.
Just pleaseeee don’t make him a one note antagonist with wasted potential for a redemption(I can’t go through another Chloé Bourgeois).
i really love irep design, its feels pretty perfect as an anti-fairy, being the opposite of peri lol

Or maybe Timmy could give Hazel some words of encouragement.
This sounds awesome wtf
I agree. I don’t think he needs to show up in the show. Personally the references of the old show itself feel better than having him forced into the series lmao
... that last bit. Oh my goodness. I love it.
I think AJ has that design because his dad was also a walking tank
I think it’s actually very possible for the pixies to return. It’s been theorized that the original series and a new wish take place around thirty years apart so they can very easily round that up to 37 so that H.P and Sanderson’s next 37 year plan can take action
Maybe that's what the fianle could entail?
I can adult Timmy appearing in the fianle and getting roped into the adventure with Hazel.
I think at first he wouldn't remember Cosmo, Wanda, and Peri, but maybe either after seeing the fairies or Hazel wishes for him to remember(and finding out he's Cosmo's and Wanda's former godkid)
Timmy, Cosmo, Wanda, and Peri get have one final adventure together and then at end of the fianle say their final goodbyes.
What's awesome is that I hope I hope they confirm a canon ending to original series
i doubt Peri is 37 tho
Speaking of pixies, Irep looks like one
@@LemeAndCatyou have to remember that fairies are basically immortal and live thousands of years. So 37 really isn’t much at all in the grand scheme of things

I want Timmy's cameo to be inconsequential, and also take up a good minute. Some magic nonsense flies by a restaurant and he tells Tammy and Tommy "this is why we don't live here anymore". Then they make a call back joke to episode one about the waiter not finishing college
The fact that they reference Icky Vicky twice in the same episode AND also play the song during the montage of Hazel and her friends messing with Vicky not only had me smiling but also asking myself, "When was the last time Chip Skylark was ever plot-relevant in the original series?"
It's also nice to know Vicky STILL hating the singer.
Good lord, It just dawned on me , they could potentially redeem characters like Chloe and Sparky, not sure if I’d be mentally prepared for that
Sparky is fine, Chloe needs to fall into a deep hole.
For Sparky at least, he could’ve undergone self-discipline and become as obedient as a Police K-9, probably somewhat embarrassed and ashamed of his wilder days.

Butch is still a director in this show, but he isn't as involved in it now, so that’s pretty good. 😁👍
Plus I love how they made Cosmo's and Wanda's relationship healthy again
As someone who had "poof" hurled at them as an attack, nobody was offended by Poof's name. It didn't need to change but it's fine that it did. Lots of people change their names when they grow up

It's great to see that like SpongeBob and the Simpsons, the Fairly OddParents had their chance at having a resurrection era for the franchise.😊
Peter Griffin:I'm still waiting for my resurrection era,Lois.
14:15 makes you question why didn't they ever think of doing this when Timmy was still their godchild.
Plus from what we've seen in both the og series and a new wish, they'd be too terrified of her to do it.
Tbh, I think Cupid's redesign has less to do about him being gay, and more because his original design is too similar to new Peri

Poof/Peri's return single-handedly saved Fairly OddParents, and gave A New Wish the attention and popularity it deserved
I am actually wondering what will happen when Hazel reaches the 1 year mark with Cozmo and Wanda, as we all know what happens then.
1:40 thats the smile of a man who is filthy rich, knows it, and LOVES it. AJ made it BIG
Awesome video 🧚💕🧚♀️
People hated on this upcoming series too fast for sure. Now this to me is the proper sequel series for the Fairly Oddparents we've been waiting for.
15:04 They definitely could've made Foop/Irep's head less square-shaped and still recognizable, because he just looks too off.
This is one of the reboots that's actually good and doesn't ruin it's characters
Speaking of Vickey's channel chaser design, they still incorperated her earring which is a nice touch.
Crocker: But-- but where are the... FAIRY...GOD...PARENTS
Marcus: thank you
Crocker: YOU'RE WELCOME
Me: lol
ngl the cupid take is crazy to me. he was not offensive & I’ve been in the fandom for several years and I don’t know a single queer fan of the show who is offended by him. actually a lot of them were upset by the change. they could’ve just yknow. kept him flamboyant/gay and also gave him more personality?? it’s 2024
not to mention one of the writers made a super condescending tweet to queer people who were rightfully disappointed by their decision & had to delete it bc everyone disagreed w her
@@cosmicbrowniez64 IT WAS SO CONCERNING to see THAT coming from one of the producers, I feel like a lot of people don’t realize that despite the stereotypes being in the original (lsmark def acknowledges that some people may be like that so I won’t fault him for playing it more safe), but we could’ve had more research and input based on current day queer folks!!! Making his design more interesting in the terms of love! But? Going into a different direction entirely really makes him look more like the uncle who wants his hug,, also his episode introduction is kinda off putting? I enjoyed him being more snarky but this form of like going against “true love” (Hazels parents) really makes me wonder what they were thinking? Either way it turned out more chaotic than what they probably were expecting 💔
@@cosmicbrowniez64Sigh. Please don't make me spell out why we changed the original FOP Cupid character and recast. Surely you smart folks can figure it out. I don't want to see myself quoted in articles about this. I just want people to enjoy our sassy bald baby and be at peace. 💘
I FORGOT THQT WAS MY USERNAME
@@cosmicbrowniez64 what did the tweet say??
AJ looks like he's in a giant MEKA suit and he's still the same size as the original show peaking out the top 😭
