    You probably won't see this but I started watching your videos during Covid and you really inspired me to take something I'd always wanted to do and make it a reality. I followed many of your tutorials and your informative yet no nonsense approach always made you a top choice. Here we are years later and I'm the proud owner of multiple terrariums, vivariums, animals and the like. Thank you sir for giving me a hobby to be proud of

    Really cool! I have made no filter ponds before and I had a lot of success! I love the swamp vibe. You really should consider making a paludarium for a newt or salamander!

    i always loved terrariums, and yours are some of the best terrarium videos i have ever seen on youtube! I adore your videos and im glad i havs found you
    Quick idea btw, what if you made a community post askins for future terrarium suggestions? Id have a few ideas myself, you dont have to do this ofcourse, its fully up to you, but i just thought it would be a cool idea to get your community involved more

    actually yes - designed my "buce tank" about Aug.2023. Tearing it down today. And you put out a video on darn near the same tank. INCLUDING LITROLLA UNIFLORA but it's missing in the final shot - melted? I"m restarting w/ an Akadama base, buce on lava and small patches of C.parva, L.Uniflora, Lilaeopsis brasiliensis and marsilea H. let me know your thoughts please

      Great timing!😃 yes a few patches melted unfortunately, it is bouncing back but just very slowly… As for your setup that sounds like a great assortment of plants. Let me know how the Akadama goes, I’m tempted to try a scape with that myself!

    I recently made a no filter build and I have a piece of Mopani wood in it and I have to change my water every week because discoloration and a bad odor. Any ideas what could be causing that?

      Good question, I use a tube to siphon out the water & only change about 15-20%

    does cork ever leach tannins? this is strikingly similar to a build im working on.

      It does but only very slightly. I do actually think it looks slightly better with the tanned water as well, adds to the swampy vibe:)

    to start a terrarium for the first time, do you recommend ordering everything separately online, or going to an in-person store like petco or another physical store?

      Don't do either, go in your backyard or for a quick walk. Di amount of gravel, soil, sand, plants, animals and hardscape you'll find will amaze you. yuh blow Suh much money n lose Di opportunity a do it right cuz guys like dis wid mommy n daddys money buy everyting n don't have nuh discipline, also nah use silicone use snails n yuh never need water changes den

    Hi. Does the pilea glauca do well being submerged or does it need some growth to be emersed? I never knew it could be used like this

      Good question, I’ve good the stems in the water with the majority of the leaves out of the water. Its roots do really well underwater and do a great job at pulling nutrients.

    How do you avoid mosquito larvae in this kind of setup? 😭 I am making similar project but the larvae have drive me crazy 😭

      I haven’t had any issues with them. If I did I’d probably temporarily install a small pump to get the water moving

      Cut branches to height of terrarium yuh using and put lid on, closed systems cyaan produce larvae:)

    Maybe someone can help me, I have made multiple pond and nano tanks like this before but I always hace the issue of mold getting in the wood that is outside the water and have to remove it so my fish wouldnt get sick or anything like that. does anyone knows what could be the issue or how could I fix it?

      It's Di type a wood yuh using, guys make videos n refuse to address dis like it doh happen fi us all, affi soak wood ahead of time inna blank tank, if it don't mold after a week or 2 throw it in yuh system, if it do scrape it bake it n try it again inna blank run

      @rastareptilerescue I'm honestly confused by dechlorinated/chlorine free. Do (did?) you all get your municipal water from public swimming pools, or what? Why would there be chlorine in water in the first place, unless someone has added it on purpose? We specifically add it for swimming pools. It's not part of the normal water cycle.

    Water change monthly isn't maintenance free by any stretch

      It's a 5.4L aquarium. Taking 2L of water out of a glass container once a month is not maintenance.

      He siphons out about 20% of the water and replaces it with fresh dechlorinated water. Once a month. That’s about as easy as it gets.

    i tried to make one but i did it poorly and i knew it wasnt going to be succesful but now with a bit more expirience and more plants and creatures i can make no filter ecosystems with ease but i dont have glass tanks🥲

      I use glass jars, bottles, thrift stores have some cool tings too, once yuh start looking around everyting can be used as a terrarium, just stick to glass, acrylics and plastics can have varied result
