I've been reading your reviews for the last few years; you helped me decide to buy the Never Summer Chairman (ride it in a 161w and I LOVE it) now I'm looking for a more flexible, poppy all mountain freestyle board to round out the quiver. I'm a northeast rider skill level advanced-expert, 5' 9" 140 lbs I emphasize trail riding and laying down turns at speed. I'm coming up on 33 years old, so my freestyle riding consists mainly of going off side hits/ trail features maybe some jibbing but nothing close to big kickers. I'm between this and the Capita Indoor Survival, what do you think would be better for our conditions on the east coast? I want a flexible board with solid pop that feels more playful than traditional camber boards but can still hold up in ice and hard New England snow. Hope you have a good upcoming season, much love from The White Mountains!
Thanks and glad you like it. So need at least your boot size to help here but YT is not a great place for advice. Based on what I know, I wouldn't suggest either. If you want to do this properly hit me here to give me the info I need so I can much better help. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
How much did it change for this season? You and I are similar specs. I rode the one from last season and found the board a little dull. I found myself overpowering the board, which I am guessing is from my weight. With butters and my weight I pushed past the sweet spot too often.
I didn't ride the 2024 so can't say for sure, but it seems to be the exact same board as the 2025 in this review. What are your exact specs (height/weight/boot size) and what size did you ride?
Very excited for the videos and the season to come! How do you compare the unions to the Burton cartels I’m deciding between those to throw on a Burton custom.
Thanks. Which Union Binding? Or if you want to do this properly, hit me here to give me the info I need to help you much better. YT is a pretty bad place to get advice. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
Cartel X and Ultra surprisingly have similar response on boards like the Custom. If you change from Burton to another brand you need to buy a new binding. The EST will feel a little better underfoot but the Ultra and all Unions better adjust to fit your boot size. You can also set it further back on board for easier float which you might need if this is your only board. Custom kind of sucks for it's shape in pow due to all that camber. Shock absorption is comparable. So is support. I'd also consider the new Force as that pairs up well with the Custom, has more adjustability and more response than both. Plus it works with any board out there. Even boards with set back inserts.
Is this a question? If so, no this is not like Frost Bite. Frostbite was barely visible. This is pretty pronounced and I didn't see it on any other 2025 board I tested.

Is this new frostbite edge on everything that already had the old garbage frostbite edge in previous years
