I would love to do this dive with my daughter! Would you recommend a guide for our first time there?

Is this video the inner reef or the third most eastern one from shore? When you say incredible viz what would that mean in terms of distance?

This video is of the inner reef and the one just a few meters from the end of the pier.

Your right about the visibility, not sure what time of year this is from , I have dove it 3 times and free dove once. I have yet to see it so clear. And I wonder if you ventured out past the pier ? i have only gone as far as the end of the pier

what is the viz usually like there when you have gone? water always seems murky to me from the beach when I'm looking out at it.

video states 50 to 60' of viz in summer, but now my second summer and the water always is cloudy when i go in from the surf with my goggles on. I guess you have to go way out to get the clear water. plus the summer seaweed makes it worse.

@@mth1368 I dove this last week. As a beginner diver with not many ocean dives under my belt, I was impressed. The visibility really improves once you get out. If the water is clear-ish in the surf with 5-10 ft visibility it’ll probably open up to around 40 ft visibility at the reef. That was my experience anyway.

5' Tarpon...you shouldn't tell such fish tales when the evidence is right on your own video 😂😂😂

Actually, we see such tarpon all the time during the summer months. Usually, they travel in schools of 20 or more.

@@BeachDiver It looked to be a meter or so to me.

@@jonnieinbangkok Size is hard to judge when no one is near enough for size comparison. Usually, lone fish are the larger ones because the smaller are vulnerable to predators if not in the company of others.

@@BeachDiver True enough; shore diving from Kata Beach in Phuket, Thailand, tomorrow. Hope it's as fun as your diving there in Florida.
