My GPS mate came last week, and it worked brilliantly. A must-have for any model with GPS. I often worry that the air unit or vtx sitting getting hot can't be good for it. Heat is the death of electronics.
@@frankcastillo8869 refer to the FAA for direct quote. For nighttime flying in controlled airspace you need a 107 license, authorization, and have red and green strobes visible for 3 statute miles regardless of being under 250 grams.
@@AlbertKimTV well you need to be able to see red strobe on the left and white on right. So 2 could be compliant but i dont think more of the same on each side would hurt, unless it was a technical/power issue. I did not find any minimum number of strobes needed, just the color, 3M statue visibility and orientation.

🥃👍
I love ViFLY products! They are usually useful and affordable. Thank you Sir.👍

Looks interesting. Is the LED unidirectional or is it omnidirectional? Is there a way to mount it so that it would be visible from any side?
The LEDs are just on one side, so unidirectional.
Great review, Albert! 😃
Pretty useful stuff!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! 😃
Great review of very interesting and potentially useful devices. Im very happy with vifly beepers.
Thanks for watching!
I do the poor man's GPS Mate. Have the GPS on 3.3V from the FC, then plug in a USB Power Bank to the FC. It'll bring up the GPS & RX, but not the VTX.
Does that work with all FCs? Also, not all GPS will work on 3.3v either.
@@AlbertKimTV That's very true, FC & GPS dependent. Just a trick a lot of people don't know about.
Probably need 2 of those strobes to be 107 compliant
Do you know for sure or is this just a guess? Does anyone know for sure that has actual facts and not assumptions?

Maybe need 8 so light is shining out in all directions? What's the rule exactly?
