Just got mine, going to try it out tonight. Purchased mine right after seeing this video……they changed out the newer units charging port to a USB-C now.

It would be good if it had a connection so that you could arm it from the tx/ flight controller so you turn it on or off remotely

I agree! Although, this is really designed for DJI pilots, who will NOT be soldering on their electronics. 😉

Thanks for the walk-through and tips! The open ends could easily be sealed with a small dab of clear silicone- (let set for 12 hours?). I would put the charging plug in the outlet while doing so to prevent any sealer from accidentally getting in the outlet. I picked up their mounts, but those are very clunky and cheap. Do you have a better recommendation for mounting?

I have it and really like it 👍👍👍. Suggestion I would have, is don't use the Velcro. Buy yourself a double sided gel tape. Not just double sided tape, double sided gel tape is the way to go.

Great video.. I am going to get one for the rear of my bicycle helmet. I have a question as a new FPV user regarding setting camera TX channels. Mine only has one button on it but I can not figure it out. Any help please.

Nice!! If these are really good +3 miles, they should fulfill the part 107 night flying requirement.

The one I'm working in will be 3+ miles in daylight :) I hope!
And probably not anywhere near $15.
Just for fun at first but who knows after that.

Firehouse has the brightest/best off the shelf that I know of, but they are more like $30-$50.
And guarantee the 3 mile visibility.

I wonder if it can be used to light up a scene for the gopro?

I don't think so. The PWM that regulates the brightness causes a lot of "ghost trail" effect on moving objects.

I have one and it blinds you to look at it. It's very visible at 3 miles. I can fly a lot further at night for that reason. It's in line of sight 3 miles away at night. During the day the farthest I can see my drone is 1500 feet, and then it's just a tiny dot in the sky.

The link in the description appears to be only for the strobe mounts but not the strobe? Where can I purchase the light itself?

Thanks for alerting me to this. It appears the strobe is no longer available on Amazon and the mount listing has replaced the product link.

At what distance would this allow you to tell if the drone is pointing at you or not during the day? I will not need it at night but my eyes can't tell what direction my drone is pointing during the day when it gets more than about 150 feet away.

    • @marcopardo453
      @marcopardo453 4 місяці тому

You should be able to see how in which direction is pointing if you have an RC remote control. The thin part of the triangle is the front part of the drone.
