They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may seem an eyesore to one person, just might be a beautiful masterpiece to another. There are places beloved by communities and protected in the hearts of those that hold their memories of its tattered hallways and decayed rooms dear. This is the way that we feel when we explore places that have been forgotten by time. Left to rot and decay and only holding the silent whispers of what once was. We know that there are people out there with malicious intent toward these places that we venture into. It saddens us when we see the filth and destruction they leave behind, but we want to make something very clear… We are explorers and lovers of history. We in no way, shape or form condone the criminal activities that take place in the historical decaying places that we document. Social media has brought many of these places to the limelight, but the intention is to show the beauty and mystery of abandonment. Not to invite trouble. Trouble will find its way on its own and to say that the peaceful documentation of these places leads to criminal activity, is mind blowing. We have met so many amazing fellow explorers in our travels and are so thankful and humbled by the positive responses we have received. We know that this type of exploration is not for everyone…many people don’t understand why we find such beauty in decay, we can only explain it as a beautiful journey into the past. We invite you to watch our explores and come along as we visit these amazing places. As for the criminal activity that occurs, those individuals are responsible for their own actions. It is a terrible part of our society, but reality, nonetheless. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for loving this location just as much as we do. I grew up in the area and pass through all the time still to this day. Hello...those eye beams were the back of porch roofs like the 3rd building, its great to see small town get saved such as this one. Its part of history and how life was, thriving with life one day then abandoned the next is the mystery of many small towns. Thanks for the tour...☺

We see so many places that are simply left behind and we are thankful to get the chance to give these locations the love they deserve. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to write such a nice comment!☺️☺️
They are doing a fantastic job keeping the history and preservation of the small town. Yes, sadly a lot of small towns have been lost due to neglect, abandoned by the residence over time nature consumes it back or destroyed by misfortune. It's nice to see towns come back to life...☺
Lol!! We have gotten ourselves into plenty of poison ivy on our explores, but it is always worth it!! We stayed free of any itchy rashes at this place!☺️. Thank you for watching!!

Whoaaaa these vehicles!! This is so intriguing, and entire township just sitting as it was, but cared for. That is so unusual and cool! Someone keeping all that together themselves is incredible! Great find, guys!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
It was a really special opportunity to speak with the owner. When we came up to him, we mentioned the word abandoned...his eyes were soft, but his voice was stearn..."this is NOT abandoned" He made it very clear to us that he loves and cares for these buildings. It was really amazing to get that perspective!! So often we travel to places that are clearly left behind...clearly neglected, but in this case, the life that they once held remain in the memory of this man and his family. Thank you so much for watching!! As you know, we are Jonesing for some Full Dark!!!! Have a great night!!

Hello, we did not go into any of the buildings. We spoke with the owner, who was really great, and he allowed us to film around the property. You can most definitely go there legally to see the buildings, but the inside of the buildings are private property.
Hey what a neat place, so nice of the gentalmen to let you look around. The tavern looks like upstairs was a barbershop maybe, by the stairs it looks like a barber pole to me. You can picture a steam train dropping off stuff for the Post Office and maybe food for the food store. The wife with her long dress and bonnet leaving the house and selling her eggs at the food store then she picks up some smoked meats from the smoke house out back. In the evenings the husband and wife would sit in front of their house drinking cold lemonade thanks to the ice house. Once in a while for a treat some local bluegrass band might play at the tavern and our couple have a night out and they walk past the black model Ford's and they walk inside the tavern for a meal and to dance and have a few rounds. Then latter on our couple walk back home and go to sleep listening to the crickets and the sounds of a stream trains horn in the distance. Well, time to find the emails to send. Nice video👍 👻 I have a close up pic of a flying orb that I was sent, will try to do the email thing after leaving here

@@JMExplorations Hi Jennifer and Marcel !! Yes I've had story's published years ago in Sie-fie mags in the 90's. I have a book written I have to get off my butt and see if the library is opened so I can type it up. But ....... Thinking of you two wonderful people being in the town you showed us here......Walking in the garden at the house on that little hill in that town. ......And you've both suddenly gone back in time. Marcel: "As we kissed in the moonlit garden on that far off velvet night, your lips were soft as petals in the moth-bushed mystic light. Was it only the stars reflection I saw your dear eyes? Ah no, t'was the love --light shining, the kind that never dies. As we tiptoded amoung the flowers, long ago, on a night like this, I lost my heart for ever in the spell of our first kiss." Jennifer: I thought that when summer ended, I'd feel so very sad, because of all the outings and the sunshine that we'd had. But now the nights are cooler, and the leaves are falling down, and they make a crunchy carpet of a lovely russet brown. I think about my crimson curtains drawn aginst the night. Of fire so brightly burning, and the room so full of light. The two of us in easy chairs, relaxed and warm, we'll sit. You will read and study, and I of course will knit. And out of deep contentment, across at me you'll look, and fill my heart with gladness and then resume your book. Perhaps an endless summer night will begin to pale with thoughts like these with in my mind, I don't feel sad at all." Marcel & Jennifer suddenly find themselves back out side the house on it's porch. Jennifer: "That is a nice door knob." Marcel: " You and you door knobs. It's getting late. We better get going." As they walk down the steps they don't notice the nice now elderly couple watching them from the window and the couple slowly fad away way. The end. (Or is it?😉) 👻🤘💖
Lol... this is Jen, yeah... we know we use that word a lot. Lucky for us that we get the opportunity to use that word. Some people don't get to see anything of interest. Not sure why you felt the need to scold us on the use of a word. Maybe next time you should just move on. But thank you anyway for the view.
Yes!!!! I can picture mine...of course I will have to find a new house that has a waterfall, vast forest surroundings... or ocean views... (whatever works)and year round warm temperatures. A girl can dream, right?
YourTubeVideoss It's definitely true. There are many places that are accessible to those of us who explore these amazing places. This is not one of them. We were happy to walk around and look at this place from the outside. We are guessing there is a little sarcasm attached to this comment...lol. Let's just say, we are ALWAYS respectful of every place we go. ☺️
Just a white, rural version of East St.Louis. I bet neither one of you would want these dilapidated buildings and rusting hulk firetrucks as your neighbor. I know that area pretty well. I know you two did some selective editing on this video. There's some pretty bad properties that weren't shown here. Historically significant whisle-stop on the old Missouri Pacific Line, now a firetruck junkyard. Pity.
Guess you don't know much about us, because if you did, you would know that we treasure all historic buildings whether they are standing tall and proud, or if they are dilapidated and decaying. You see, every building and every place has a story. Some stories held within the walls are happy and full of life, some tragic and sad. We featured these buildings because they had a story to tell. We were honored to learn some of the history of this town and don't appreciate your pompous attitude. Here's a little tip.... instead of being a jerk, climb down off of your high horse and try to find something kind to say. This world is ugly enough right now without you contributing to the hate. We love this town and respect the people who live here. Oh and by the way, we love East St. Louis too. Maybe take a look at our content before you go spewing nonsense. - Jennifer

It's nice to see towns come back to life...☺
Keep up the Great work
Thank you, Robert!
Hope you didn't get poison ivy looking at the old tow truck!
Lol!! We have gotten ourselves into plenty of poison ivy on our explores, but it is always worth it!! We stayed free of any itchy rashes at this place!☺️. Thank you for watching!!
Mater is a 49 or 50 Ford. The 48 on the license plate on the first ruck is the weight rating that it's licensed for.
Thank you so much and we appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. We loved this location!
I’ve always wanted to explore a ghost town
Laurie it's a really cool experience! I bet there is one close to you somewhere!
Too bad the owner couldn't afford to fix up the buildings and rent them out
Greg Elliott that would be cool if they could be reopened!
@@JMExplorations if they could fix up a house or two they could sell it and bring some back to the area. Plus to if they fixed up the buildings that had a repair shop or store in it they could rent the space out to someone and make money that way

We truly appreciate that! We do this for fun, but we love the feedback!
Wow, great video. Would've loved to have seen more of the cars and trucks. I'm always on the hunt. Just subscribed...
Thank you so much, Joe! We are happy to have you come along with us on our adventures! We would have loved to see more of them as well, but we were given limited access to the property by the owner and wanted to be respectful of his wishes. If you love old cars, please check out this video.... ua-cam.com/video/glE7jVwpoUo/v-deo.html This was one of our very favorite explores and you won't be disappointed in the amount of unique cars we see!! Have a great rest of the weekend!!
Very cool ghost town! Wish I lived a bit closer to MO! I have one of the "J's" (think it's a tie brace?) that I picked up walking the abandoned tracks awhile back. Great video, as always! And thanks for the shout out!
You are very welcome and thank you to you for watching!! We are always drawn to railroad tracks and would have loved it if the station would have still been there! It didn't really matter that it was gone, because you could close your eyes and just picture the way it must have looked back in the day. There are many amazing places to see in the midwest and it is definitely worth a trip if you ever get the chance. Have a great night and we will be in touch soon!!
J&M Explorations Thats the most respectable way to tackle places that are still owned and have a place in someone’s heart! Let’s tackle some weird cool spots this winter!! ❤️
Cool truck
I live maybe 15 minutes from there
Very cool town
It was a really interesting place!! We are happy to bring you along with us!!! Hugs to CJ!!
I recently visited and it was very inhabited with people living in new houses and trailers built there, as well as ones falling apart. Not really "abandoned"
Camp Man it was a really cool place but no not abandoned!
Even when you argue (about glasses and reading '58), it's wholesome.. you guys are great
LOL...yep! We are a little goofy and our bickering is usually all in fun (except when I'm getting on Marcel's last nerve...lol) Thank you so much for the compliment! We think you are pretty darn great yourself!!

I seem to always ask what happened to make a town become what they are now.
fred lybarger who knows. I guess it's because that there is always something newer and bigger and better!
The 48 on the license plate stands for the weight it is licensed to haul !!!!!
Mel Buenger thank you for letting us know that!! We had no idea!!! :)
Gotta love those Ghost Towns. Especially around Halloween! Awesome job guys!!
Thank you so much, Nick! We really loved this old historic town and are happy we had the chance to see it in person! Have a great night!!
Wow Guys!!!! Preservation of an entire town...I'm not sure my eyes were good enough....wasn't the architecture the same thru out this small community? The tops of the buildings looked the same to me!!! I loved those old trucks as well....GMC, Ford,International ,Mack! Just amazingness!!! We are in weird times now and some believe that our history has been compromised. I love learning that someone has protected and displayed our history so beautifully!! What a gorgeous day.. what a great video (as always) and what an amazing find!!! Jen....I collect antique knobs too!!....Marcel....didnt sound like whinning....lmao..🤣 Thanks sweet friends for all that you do....and for takin' us along!!!✌🙂❤
Tres Ann it was such an amazing place!! The tops of the buildings were very similar but still unique! It would have been cool to get inside these buildings and we're pretty sure he would have let us but we were on a time constraint so viewing it from the outside was going to be it this time!! :)
looks like place for shooting scene on The Walking Dead
Galih Al Qari lol....true story!!!
Ha ha marcel “says what are you doing?.. picking up rocks?” Lol 😂 you guys are awesome. That truck is awesome that fire truck is awesome. That building was built right. GMC love the Mack truck! Lol the writer shed wow that old tow truck!!! Ha ha Mater. What a great collection of different trucks. What a cool building. Well I think back then the buildings had hand painted signs which fade over time right? Cool house. Have that haunted vibe for sure. Love how respectful y’all are. Thanks for the walk back in time!! 💜💜💜
Thank you so much for watching!! We really loved our walk around this historic town and really enjoyed getting the chance to talk with the owner about the history. You could tell by talking with him just how much he loves this town and how hard he works to maintain the buildings. He had such a sparkle in his eye when he was telling us all about it!! Have a great night and we will talk with you soon!!
Bisbee Arizona has an awesome ghost town with store, buses, cars etc
Arizona is definitely on our bucket list! (Although if we go there, I (Jen) might not be able to get Marcel back on the plane...lol)
Thank you for sharing this! When we make it out that way, we will keep this location in mind!
Does that lady lived next to the old Tavern ? Someone is keeping the grass cut there.
Too bad they don't restore the old Tavern. Open it up as a General Store.
The owner of those buildings lives in one of the buildings. We talked with him for about an hour! Really nice guy!!!
My great grandfather did the job of collecting ice off the easthampton Massachusetts lake. They lived on the lake
That is amazing!! When we were listening to the story, we could just picture the hard work that must have gone along with that job! Thank you so much for watching and for sharing that piece of your family's history!

Chona Lyn Ariate welcome to our channel!! So glad to have you here!! :)
Very cool stuff! Great to see how much you both absolutely love exploring together! 😎👍
Yes!!! Exploring together has been such an amazing aspect of our relationship and we are so happy that it comes across on our videos. We started this channel for ourselves. A chance to document our adventures for our own history! We are thankful to you for watching and for coming right along with us!
They say that first building was a tavern but your old picture u show of it has evidence that it was a barber shop none the less interesting ty
The history we gave was from the owner himself, but as with all historic towns, many of the buildings had multiple functions. Thank you for watching and commenting.👍
I'm not certain ,I'm just a local dummie, but I remember there's controversy over which building was which, not even for sure why, I just remembe some people saying one thing n others saying another idk but at least y'all asked permission
jacob thomas nah, not a dummie. We would have loved to see the inside of the buildings. The community and locals that love these buildings always know best. Have a great night!
Very interesting and historical town Thanks for sharing this was awesome👍💜
sandra Pink Video's thank you!! We love historic little towns!! :)
Imagine owning a whole town!
I love the old fire trucks, especially the grey one.
Wish I could move in, looks so peaceful.
Right? Much of the town has been intertwined with his family history and he and his brother are the caretakers of all of the property there. It is a grand opportunity that he has...a chance to preserve history and to keep this town alive in some way or another. We felt the same way....very peaceful and just a great slice of Americana!! Thank you so much for watching, Nicole! We always appreciate all of your support!
I grew up in Moselle
I (Jen) am from the midwest and love these small towns with character and history. We were so happy to have had the chance to talk with the owner of these properties and to get a chance to walk around. It was very nostalgic! We hope that we brought back good memories of your childhood. Thank you so much for watching!
Did you know any DeClue folks?
I live close to hear, it was a iron smelling town in 1800s
It was a cool little town!!!
I was there while it was still a town.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Fantastic! These old buildings, with many many stories to tell. The owner is very gracious to share this history with you. Love the architecture and the old vehicles, soo cool! ☺️🌲
THE NATUREMAN thank you! This place was so cool to just walk around and admire the beautiful buildings and the awesome vehicles!! :)
I live 10 mins away
I grew up in this town and spent many hours exploring. The Andy Cupps house was haunted.
Nursetruman it was such a cool little town!
I thought Mater as well!! Lol! Awesome finds in that ghost town. Trying to get caught up watching some vids from Florida 🤣 loved all the old rustic buildings and the old firetrucks. That bank looks like the old west. Sturdy on the outside but whoa to the inside. Great to see all the hidden treasures as you roam the town. Very, very cool! Loved this ☺️ literally like walking back into a town that stood still.
Git er done!!! LOL Yeah, this place was sooo cool!! We certainly would have loved to see more, but it just wasn't in the cards. Funny thing is, we didn't care that we couldn't see the inside...it was just so amazing to hear straight from the owner just how special this place is. Thank you so much for watching! Safe travels to you and be careful of those gators!! lol
If I am not mistaken on down where the Bourbeuse river flows into the Meremac river. Was a small Native American village up until around 1900.
Seraphim Shoals this area was so awesome to visit! We had such a good time! :)
Fun place to go with a metal detector
debbie wilson who knows what you might find! :)
That brick will last forever. Amazing quality.
Definitely! We would have loved to see more of the inside, but it just was not meant to be on this location. Thank you for watching!! We appreciate you and all of your support!
First and foremost -- look at you, Jennifer, rockin' the Beastie Boys T-shirt! OMG, I used to love them back in the day. "No sleep 'til --- BROOKLYN!!!"
Anyhoo... great video! Ghost Towns are cool and this one is no exception. Too bad you couldn't explore INSIDE those old buildings though; that would've been awesome, especially the old tavern. I bet there's a bunch of old door-knobs in that place, LOL!
Take care guys,
Valerie.
Yessss!!! Someone gets my love for Mike D, Ad-Rock and MCA!! And thank you so much, Valerie! This place quickly became near and dear to our hearts! What we would give to see the inside, but today was not the day. We could just picture how many relics could have been stored in those old buildings. We truly appreciate you and all of your support!! Thank you so much for watching!
Some door knobs are very detailed.
I don't know why I love them so much....they are like little works of art! Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment!!
Love the intro

What part of Missouri is this town located in.
This town is located southwest of St. Louis
I work 5 minutes from there I never even knew
It is really an amazing place! We hope you get the chance to check it out!
Bruh I live there
This video is off the hook
Hey is moselle legal to explore
Nice video👍 👻
I have a close up pic of a flying orb that I was sent, will try to do the email thing after leaving here
Oh man....this comment is just wonderful! This is exactly the way we would picture it! You painted the picture perfectly...are you a writer? You have such a way with words. We thank you so much for watching and for always taking the time to give us such wonderful comments! We will definitely read your emails and get back to you! I have tomorrow off of work...woo hoo!! Talk to you soon and have a great night!!
Marcel:
"As we kissed in the moonlit garden on that far off velvet night, your lips were soft as petals in the moth-bushed mystic light.
Was it only the stars reflection I saw your dear eyes? Ah no, t'was the love --light shining, the kind that never dies.
As we tiptoded amoung the flowers, long ago, on a night like this, I lost my heart for ever in the spell of our first kiss."
Jennifer:
I thought that when summer ended, I'd feel so very sad, because of all the outings and the sunshine that we'd had.
Perhaps an endless summer night will begin to pale with thoughts like these with in my mind, I don't feel sad at all."
Marcel & Jennifer suddenly find themselves back out side the house on it's porch.
Jennifer: "That is a nice door knob."
Marcel: " You and you door knobs. It's getting late. We better get going."
As they walk down the steps they don't notice the nice now elderly couple watching them from the window and the couple slowly fad away way.
The end. (Or is it?😉)
👻🤘💖
Cut back on cool
Why?
Lol... this is Jen, yeah... we know we use that word a lot. Lucky for us that we get the opportunity to use that word. Some people don't get to see anything of interest. Not sure why you felt the need to scold us on the use of a word. Maybe next time you should just move on. But thank you anyway for the view.
Didn't mean any disrespect, you do a great job ,thank you.
@@joemccoy412 no worries. Thank you!

@@JMExplorations Me Too , I Could Never Sneek Into Places , Too Dangerous .. Unless I am With a Large Group And Majority Rules In Favor Of LOol
- Jennifer
Well just another commenter who doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about!!! Everything you said is wrong and you have no idea who we are and what we are about or what we like! We enjoyed this little town very much and we also enjoyed talking to the owner of these buildings for over an hour! As far as editing the video goes...we didn’t cut hardly anything out...only the walking between areas. I (Marcel) am not sure what your problem is (but I can guess) but don’t come in here and tell us what we like and what we did or didn’t do. You were dead wrong on everything you said!!!
Well robot buster, what are you going to do to make it up to your standards? All they are doin* is showing history, and what is the white comment about?
