Thank you so much for demonstrating this with a simple straight cutter flush trim bit, instead of the Super expensive twisted up/down /compression bit... There are humans out here with simple bits! 🙂❤️
For many, the results are worth the price.
Exactly what I do to joint two boards. A straight edge and a trim router.
Great tip! Thank you April 👍
Glad it was helpful!
I know this was posted over a year ago and I'm sure you wont see this but I just wanted to say Thank you for a wonderful tip.!!! I have been struggling for years trying to get boards straight..Some of the solutions on You Tube seemed like I needed a Degree from NASA...Went and bought a 8 foot level and broke out the trim router...worked like a charm...Thanks April...love your work..!! That's how I found Matt Cremonas videos..!! Take care and stay safe.
Thanks! Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching.
And now I feel silly. Why did I not figure this out for myself? It makes complete sense and it is easy!
Thanks for this ine!
April is the best 💪
That shim method is a nice tip.
I've never thought about that as an option.
Glad it was helpful!
That’s a great idea! I don’t have a jointer, but I have several routers and will certainly try it. Thanks April!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, I was thinking of this when I woke up and figured someone else with a real shop had to have figured it out already. Saved me a few hours of figuring it out by trial and error. I mostly seem to error😂
Great tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Genius!
Awesome. Thank you so much for this video. I don't really have space for a jointer so I've been wondering if this would work.
Thanks for the informative info
I got a 2 1/2 long straight bit just for this
Great tip, thank you so much👍🏻
That’s honestly genius. I wish I knew the router table truck but I love my newly acquired 10” jointer
That's sick why have i never thought of that. That's so good!
I used the first trick to reduce a door that wouldn't close. Door was installed in the dry winter months, then in the hot humid summer it swelled. The amount that needed to come off was too small for a circular saw. I had to do it in two steps like shown in the video.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing and for watching.
Hi April , I recently bought the Triton TMNRTR 880W router and it’s the best machine for use by hand or table mounted I’ve had , thanks for all your tips and advice, all the best 🤝🏴.
Awesome! Glad you like it. Thanks for sharing and for watching!
Great idea! Thanks for sharing! Thankfully, you just kept me from buying a jointer and saved me a lot of money. Again, thanks!
1/32nd - isn't that just half a minute?
I was literally thinking about this the other day! Going to give a try this weekend!
Great! Glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching.
Goon squad shirt? Lol
Both good tips. I’ve been using a track saw as a jointer
I don’t have a jointer either, could of used one a a project but like this idea. Was debating if I need a plainer. Really want one but not sure if I need one too
I had the amazing ability to take a perfectly straight board and give it a nice curve on my jointer. Took me a while to break myself of that skill.
As to using palm routers, well, my full size router is now a permanent table saw mounted one. 99% of my hand routing is with the palm router.
Thankyou for sharing the hand router method is awesome
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Short sweet and to the point. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Good idea!
Very nice 👏
Nice job April! Thanks for sharing the video with us!👍💖😎JP
Thanks for watching!
@@AprilWilkerson Your very welcome April! Have a wonderful week!😎
How does the router flatten a board?
Not flatten, it straightens the/an edge of the board. A router can be used to flatten a board, but not like this
@@macp349 Understood. I wouldn't worry too much about straightening the slab. Dozens of ways to do that. Flattening is the hard part (for both the woodworker and the router)
@@kwilliams2239 gotcha
You go girl!
April! How do you like the new triton compact router??? I am in the market for a new palm router and saw that triton just recently released this one.
Love it! I've had no problems with mine. Thanks for watching.
What is the type of that trimmer and how the maximum deep to flush trim.? Thank's
Such a great tip!
Great! Glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching.
Awesome tip!!
Glad it was helpful!
Very good tip!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Wow, I have a small jointer but I really like the first method. How square were your edges?
Two great tips, especially using the bit with the bearing and guide piece.
Glad it was helpful!
That’s a great hack.
Yes! Thanks for watching.
Awesome trick! How thick should the straight edge be?
Yeah but...face jointing. A so-called "planer sled" needs to be well over 1" thick to be truly effective...difficult to handle and where do you even get such a thing?
This works for the edge, but how would you do this with the face of the board? I'm new to this
This is specifically for jointing boards. You’ll need to look into getting yourself a planer for doing big surfaces
Why do I feel like every other method of jointing is faster than my actual jointer? Can someone help out here 😅
👏👏💜❗️
O she would def get a solid 40.
👍✌️👏👌💯
What about a wider face

You video is not good it looks like a phone screen don't care for that would like to it in full screen
Then I suggest you stick to only watching UA-cam videos and not UA-cam Shorts. UA-cam specifically made UA-cam Shorts to be shot in portrait mode on a phone.
