I came across these videos just by chance and am enjoying them. To get a glimpse into Helens' extraordinary life leaves me speechless . What an AMAZING lady she was!!! I don't remember hearing about Polly, all these years I thought it was Anne Sullivan by her side . 2 WONDERFUL women giving their lives to ensure Helen was able to live thank you Anne & Polly for your love & devotion to Helen!!❤
So do i and i found this video funny especially when Helen gave Polly a dish making no with her head..I love the grimace on Polly 's face.priceless LOL!!
People always used to ask Helen if she closed her eyes when she went to sleep. She would reply "I don't know, I've never stayed awake long enough to notice." 😊 I know she enjoyed reading at night, especially her Bible. Something most of us can't do without a flashlight. I love Helen's smile and I really appreciate these videos! Thank you. I'm sure it was and is a novelty to see such a famous woman doing such simple tasks as wiping the dishes but for Helen it wasn't. Even before she learned what a word was, her dear mother taught her how to fold and put away her own clothes. Helen always enjoyed being busy around the house. She and Polly were such good friends and I'm sure it was a comfort to Annie that neither Helen or Polly would be alone when she passed ❤
Dearest Helen, What another amazing video of precious Helen. She really was an amazing woman, and to be able to see her here will keep her legacy alive. She really loved life, and truly is a hero in my eyes and I know many more, God bless you for keeping her legacy alive! Love n Hugs, Patty
Helen's love and simplicity for life and her good mood radiates through her entire life, like she's some realized arhat and one who deeply cares for others as well, like a bodhisattva, anyway Helen is a great inspiration for all of us who have "ears to hear and eyes to see".
It is so wonderful to see even a small part of Helen Keller's life! In her kitchen Helen just like any housewife. Thank you so much for post this clip!
She’s so lucky, she has a nice house with everything and help. Lot of deaf people and blind doesn’t have a best home. I remembered her first home burned down and lot of people from all over the world sent her replacement gifts. Really lucky.
of course, she was lucky to be born into a rich family with a lot of recourses, yet she's inspiring her teacher too, I want to learn sign language so hard now
@@vio3366 Yes sure her family was wealthy and her father was an old captain of the confederate Army and a journalist who directed the Alabamian or a newspaper and they had maids and servants..As for sign language it is very easy to learn and you can find an alphabet on the net with all the letters. It can be learnt within a week but you need to practice after.
@@vio3366 Her father lost most of his money when Helen was very young. In fact, he couldn't even afford to pay Annie Sullivan's salary after one year. She stayed for Helen's sake. A trust was set up for Helen's education by people such as Alexander Graham Bell, Mark Twain and others. After that Helen and Annie sometimes struggled to make ends meet. They relied on Helen's books to bring in money. But of course, they were blessed by many good people, including fans who cared about them. That fire Rb Smith speaks of did take almost everything they had.
A wonderful video my dearest Helen.I was very happy to see it and thanks a lot for your awesome sharing. What a great and beautiful Lady !! Many blessings to you always !! Much love Menu ~
I bet she was more dexterous than me when it comes to shelling pecans! :) Love this amazing lady!, who remains one of my all time heroines & role model. Thank you for sharing this precious clip with us, dear Helen
Such a wonderful footage of this dear lady Helen Keller she was such an inspiring person to everyone who had the privalage to know her, Really lovely my dear friend all thumbs up to you, Always best wishes and Blessisngs to you there dear Helen..Your friend Ann:)
I love this video.Helen is funny when she dances to the sound and vibrations of the music and shells pecans.I never shelled pecans lol.And she makes me smile when she gives Polly a dish at 1.20 and Polly is annoyed and seems to say"You rascal! "it's hilarious! Bonjour de France..amitiés.Merci.Thanks!
February 24th Wednesday 2021 . How could she hear the music when she was both blind and DEAF ? May she Rest In Peace whenever she may be and her teacher too !!! ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰
@@IamHelenKeller Thank you for telling me that she felt the music 🎶 vibrations through her finger tips !!! I went back and watched the video again and I understood what you meant when I saw her put her fingers on the speaker 🔈 of her radio !!! It seems she lived a good life and was a happy kind person !!! I’m an Atheist so I don’t believe in God nor Gods or else God would not let things like this happen !!! I do hope I am wrong and there is a god after all and that Helen is in a beautiful place where see can see and hear and is able to sing and be free !!! Once again thank you for explaining the music 🎶 part !!! Thursday February 25th 2021 !!! Be safe and live a long healthy happy prosperous life !!! ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️🥰🥰🥰
There's a British percussionist calked Evelyn Glennie who is deaf. She feels the vibrations of the music she makes through her body. The different pitches register in different areas.
Her videos are incredible! I would like to say something else...her English is superb, because most Deaf people's grammar are not too good as her grammar. I am Deaf.
I've known the manual alphabet for years and I just cannot imagine the speed at which Miss Anne and Miss Polly are spelling and that Helen is reading!!! They must use a lot of abbreviations for often-used words. ASL isn't an option for the blind...
Hi Helen, it is always amazing to watch these great video's so inspiring always it is funny as about a month ago now we watched the film made about Helen, not a dry eye in the house, such an amazing lady, wishing you always well, hugs and bless from Peter and Mary-Anne

Can I find this documentary on my TV if so what is the documentary called & what channel would it be on? I really enjoy learning and everything Helen did in her life
Hi Molly. I'm not sure if this documentary is ever on TV. It's called Helen Keller in Her Story. It was made in 1954. I think you can buy a DVD on Amazon.com. I have a lot of video clips from this documentary on my youtube channel. Have a nice weekend! :)
Education needs to be more accessible to today's deafblind children. The Dunn deafblind triplet girls are an example. When they were young, their mom could not afford tuition for them to attend Helen's school, Perkins School for the Blind. (Tuition per year today in 2018 is $19,979.) Instead, she got them cochlear implants to maximize any remnants of their hearing and hired an intervenor (teacher like Annie Sullivan). Intervenors in the U.S. currently make an average of 51,000 per year.
I would use the word stern. Discipline taught her everything she knows. She was consistent with Helen which is what brought her so far. She is the reason for Helen. Never giving up on her. What most people need.
Helen hiya dear friend I subbed your channel again, don't know how we lost each other, this google stuff I guess...Ive learned so much watching your channel Bless You.........Ernie
