    I cannot get tired of watching this video.It's amazing and touching.Helen was the joy and she was happier than most of us,even without seeing and hearing. We complain so often about our health,for instance when we have a twisted ankle and especially when we find in the dark because of a power cut .We lose our self control and patience so quickly ,whereas Helen keller spent her whole life in darkness and led a happy life..We take so many things for granted.

    Absolutely amazing to see her in a film, I always had to imagine what she'd be like when I read a book about her when I was little. I have to say that she seems very intelligent. In the previous one when she talked about being a blind and a deaf, what an insightful opinion. Just amazing

    This second part is also fascinating as the first . The wealth to share the moments of his life, a happiness.

    The way she lived her life was almost adorable. She was so curious of everything, but it was so noble that she lived her life even after the fatal impairs of her sight and hearing.

    I've noticed in a lot of these old films that she was very smiley all the time.

    • @IamHelenKeller
      @IamHelenKeller  3 роки тому +1

      I suspect the producers of the films encouraged her to smile.
      But who knows? lol :)

      @@IamHelenKeller I don't think she was smiling so much because people told her to. I think she was just a generally happy person. It's interesting, though, because I've heard other blind people say in the past that it was kind of a challenge for them to learn to smile because they didn't see how to do it. They had put some effort into feeling people's faces in order to learn how to smile and make other facial expressions properly. I'm sure Helen probably did that too, but I get the impression, for some reason, that even if she didn't feel people's faces to learn to smile, she wouldn't have needed to, anyway because she was able to do it naturally, better than other blind people could.

    • @IamHelenKeller
      @IamHelenKeller  3 роки тому +2

      @@Melissa0774 Helen didn't become blind until she was 19 months old. So she was probably already smiling, at the time of the illness that caused her blindness and deafness.
      It's an interesting point you bring up, as to wether smiling is a natural reaction...or a learned reaction. Best Wishes! :)

    I have a friend who is blind due to a construction accident and I find the communication of the deaf fascinating. I have always considered that if I had to lose one of thoughts faculties the loss of sight would be the worst. I can imagine what Helen's world was like. ASL (American Sign Language) is not hard to learn. Because the Deaf have not had the aberrating influence of language I'm looking forward to communication with them. DMB
