45 years old, bachelors, about to complete my masters, excellent job history. No personality issues, friendly. Good references. No background check conflicts. Been looking for a little over two years.
Get yourself a CDL, trucking companies are hiring
Same. I was making 200k+ a year overseas with my own business. Unable to use access my funds there so I divorced. Got back, graduated MBA. Pandemic happens. No one wants to hire someone who was out of country 10 years who had their own business. It's not you, its the sign of a collapsing economy. It has been happening for 2 decades but accelerated since 2008. Now, the market is flooded with video content based full time workers with little to no ROI. It's really really scary. America became rich because it was a country of skilled laborers. Online tech based economy is not a producing economy and the gains only go so far. Add to that, open borders so the skilled labor base shifts to them. Add to that ever increasing tax + govt spending/giving away billions to other countries and we have the fall of Rome on a scale we can't possibly imagine looming overhead.
I’m at 4 years right now. I’m a graphic artist with 3,000 applications out. Great portfolio. Educated too. It is scary weird why this happens to talented hard working people. You’ll see others who don’t work hard as you in looking for work and getting more educated who’s making 6 figures too fast and your asking what is wrong with your candidacy and future? Wishing you the best man.
Same
What sucks is that the bills are consistent but the jobs/careers/stability isn't! That's what pisses me the fuck off! Also, I have degrees as well but sometimes, I get SO desparate and sad looking at my dwindling back account that I am willing to take a fast food or college/high school job but even those places won't take me sometimes.
The same people who want you to pay off your loans are sabotaging your potential to be able to pay it back
They aren't sabotaging anything. They are simply reporting how responsible (or irresponsible) he was in living up to financial obligations he took on. I'm not saying that he's a bad person, or anything like that, but many of these comments treat Mark as a victim. He isn't a victim, except of circumstance.

It's not 'life' kicking you, it's other people. Our collective cultural fascination with competition is destroying us. Competition is neither innate or necessary.
It took me 15 applications across 1 1/2 years to get my very first interview... It took my sister 1 application and 1 interview to get hired on the spot. All because she knew someone who worked there.
Damn I I went to college for 3 years in England came back home in the beginning of 2020 before covid went world wide I got my fist job in 2021 January first but my girlfriends mom helped me get that job and it was just a temp and there were new get people getting hired and getting full-time and the showed up late most days and call off sick and they got the chance to move up and I'm unemployed at the moment I'm 21 years old

@@effing-con places like Indiana and south Florida have amazing economy’s for jobs. South Florida has very limited public transportation so if you have a car you bassicly have a automatic full time job down here in south Florida especially if you fit the requirements. I’m 20 on my 15th job since 16 already. Never had to worry about not having job I would always be able to get a call back in 2 days max. And your probably gonna say it’s because I’m young and only applying to jobs that require a hs degree but my dad has a Bachelors degree but can also get 4 interviews in a month for 80k a year manager positions for insurance companies.
i'll do the phone interviews, and never hear from them again. or as soon as i apply online somewhere, they send that "unfortunately we're moving on" email. like WTF!!! i'm about to be homeless, WITH a full time job, and a bachelors degree. i want a refund . or my student loans should be wiped away because this is pure bs
Omg yes!!!!! I get this same respond back. I hope you got one now though 💖.
Me too like wtf is going on am I cursed or something 🥺😭
Omg same here or they will tell me over the phone they are gonna keep my resume on file for future employment like no If u not gonna hire me now don't even keep me on there I just hate when they email me after spending hours doing the applications just for them to move forward with someone else it's so annoying
They don’t say shit to me
Let me guess...you're a millennial. Allow me to explain to you why you aren't hearing back: because there are 20 (or 100) other people who applied for the role who were more qualified, or whose resumes made a better presentation. Does your resume, cover letter, or any of the answers you gave in your application have spelling or grammatical errors? HR people get THOUSANDS of applications; they can barely LOOK at them, much less study them in any detail. I understand that the average contact time with a resume is less than 10 seconds. They simply don't have enough physical time to write a personal response to everyone who sent them an app, many of whom obviously didn't pay much attention to the actual background requirements for the position. You might try hiring an interview coach. Aside from actually improving your interviewing skills, they will professionally critique your paperwork, and might find obvious weed-outs that you are not aware of. In any case, stop whining about your student loans. You willingly took on that obligation, regardless of whether or not that was a good decision. Good luck in finding something you like.
Been struggling with application too. It has been 8months and counting. I am questioning what's wrong with me. Maybe there is something im not doing. Yet my former classmates who have been lazy in class and literally relied on me to pass are doing quite remarkably fine. I got a message from a lady who said I wasnt qualified even though the requirement was a year's experience and I had 3. Anyway if someone stumbles in this vid, stay strong please and never give up 😣
Yooo same I've literally helped soo many people graduate its insane. These same people who are were on the verge on falling were hired out of college. I'm not wishing anything bad on them but its weird. I graduated with honors and have internship experience but every time i get to an interview they say they like and I would be a great part of the team buuuut. they ghost me. I might just create a false company at this point and lie my way though apparently that works lol..
@@jermeydeville5039 get referrals from these people.
I got that one a couple times. Job ad says a year and I have 15 years...and I keep getting told I am overqualified yet under qualified. It's ridiculous
They won't tell you why because it puts them at risk for lawsuits.
That's what I've thought. It's frustrating that the normal advice is to ask for feedback from the interviewer. That just doesn't work.
Yep, human resources laws create a very adversarial hiring process. Over-regulation hurts people who don't have perfect backgrounds, credit etc.
J OneLife tell me about it
@J OneLife Really? But also they have to hire whites one too.
@@armsburg but would'n the solution be, to make it illegal for companies to do a credit check on anyone for employment ?
I am so sorry that you went through this. Like I said, these employers are crazy/psychotic. It is not us. It is THEM. I agree.
No, it's not "them", and they aren't crazy or irrational at all. It's that you don't understand the realities of the job market. You are competing for a role with lots of other people for every position...many of whom are more qualified, or whose background is better, or whose education is superior or whose name is easier to pronounce. There is nothing irrational about using a credit score to weed people out...statistically, it's an excellent predictor of personal responsibility. And there are 20 other applicants with excellent scores, so why would you expect a hiring manager (or HR person) to waste their valuable time trying to understand this or anything else about a particular candidate, when they don't have to?
@@jamesw1659 You're exactly the reason why our economy is thrown out of balance and why our world today is sh**.

@@jamesw1659 people like you are why the world is collapsing.
@@righthandstep5 How so? How, exactly, are "people like me" (and you have no idea of who people like me are) making the world "collapse"? People like me who have some understanding of how the working world works are simply trying to explain some simple and seemingly-obvious truths to people like you, who apparently don't. Did you even read my comment? I'm not telling you how the world should work. I'm telling you how it does work.
They can reject because of credit report which i think is wrong. Discrimination. Maybe the people cant pay their bills cause they have no job?
Right common sense right. It's kicking and spitting on you when you're already down
Exactly!
yeah after all why do they think people are trying to get a job?? Another Flimsy excuse for them (the employer) to reject an applicant
If you are going to work for a bank, a financial position or any position where you might manage finances or even just being a manager, it is a common practice. Some other types of positions have a credit check- this is just the truth of things in the real world. Some of us have to avoid careers that require a credit check if credit is not good.
@@AMarie_USA I think they are all trying to use that as an excuse which should be totally illegal, why do they think someone is trying to get a job and they dont know their circumstances
I am struggling to find work for 8 months now. I just realized a few days ago that the employers don't have common sense and it's a game. Also, they are crazy, narcissists (the actual personality disorder), think they are superior and etc. I read in one job add that they recruit a "above average" candidate. So, superiority, power, and control seem to be a big issue. Ergo - narcissisistic or sociopathic personality; ergo- lack of common sense. There is also a chaos, distortion of reality, and gaslighting going on in this world. All equal the effects of narcissism.
Lauren Ann I hear ya’! They are also cheap and greedy (they get bonuses for the less employees that they hire).
that is only a fraction of the fecal pie chart
Agree with you
yes totally agree. Ive dated narcissists and see this abuse in employers and our government.
...and you are living in Fantasyland if you believe any of that. There is no reason whatsoever for you to conclude ANY of those things, except for your own anger. Every company I've ever worked for tried to hire the very best candidates they can find. Give me one reason why they would ever, ever do anything different? Why do you think that any employer would ever hire someone with any issue in their background when they have other candidates who have better backgrounds? And why are you conflating a job posting saying that they hire "above average" candidates with "superiority, power, and control"? There is no logical reason to assume the latter. What you should be thinking is that they have high standards for hiring, which is good. The bitterness in your comment might be coming across in your interactions with some of these folks, which you might want to consider...
OMG I'm so glad I never took out student loans. This is so messed up.
Be very grateful, trust me.
Colleges can't prepare you for the fuckery that awaits you after graduation however I did take a course at Hocking College a little community/ trade college where they tried to prepare you and I remember the instructor saying " Employers are looking for reasons to throw out your resume and not hire you." After getting 2 degrees I look at fast food managers and think they have it good. Ironically I was a fast food manager before going to college.
I know Hocking. I went to OU for a couple of years. Although, depressing, it's reassuring that someone else has noticed what I've experienced. I thought it was just me.
Absolutely
I say this again and again, I will never borrow money, take out a loan, or use a credit card because of problems like this. You have my sympathy man.
So if you can borrow money or be homeless......you'd choose to be homeless out of "principal"?
Bizarre.
if you just finished school and have no experience yet (even tho I do have experience) no one wants to get you for minimum wage jobs even that want no experience
They probably don't wanna spend more on a new employee or training them when they don't have to. It's giant conspiracy.
I have been working at the same fast food franchise since I began my degree at 17. I have always applied to other jobs and nothing, I would always get a NO. For the first time I actually got called to work for a company and now I somehow failed the background check. I have no problems with my credit and I have a clean criminal record. I couldn't believe it. I was so happy, my uniforms were already in bags, ready to move on. I feel like crap to be honest. I feel like I will never get a chance.

I’ve been looking for a good opportunity for 4 years with over 3,000 applications out, no joke for my industry of interest. I’m a graphic artist with a great portfolio and a lot of education and all I’ve been receiving are denials. Had only 8 interviews through out the years and a recent internship for free. I’ve done a credit check and it seems fine on my end unless someone has done an identity theft on me I don’t know. It is scary and unusual and very tiring. I’ve researched and heard that the irs has seen cases of people that can use your social security number to get jobs. You’re video helped relate to this topic. I’m glad you made it. If you have any other suggestions to add please let me know in a reply.
I have been trying to get a basic entry level job for the last 2 years . I finally had an interview for a job at a grocery store . The interview went well but then told me the position I am applying for was not available at this location . She’s like you have a lot of experience and I said yes I was a hair stylist for 10 years …. Btw I live across the street from the store and I have a 2018 car so good transportation. I said well I see your website is hiring for this position at the other 2 branch stores and this one on your website. she said she will call me in a few days for a second interview. She never called me it’s been a week. I am going back into the grocery store and asking to meet with her in person again to ask her what is happening. I don’t understand how these companies expect us to trust them when they don’t follow through with their word . Ghosting people is not acceptable . These companies I heard got a lot of loans and Grants during the pandemic and cut their staff so much and don’t want to rehire people back. They want to over work everyone on staff and keep their budget low . I also think they might be getting kick backs for interviewing people.
fuck that job! I was a cosmetologist for 4 years as well, and aside from that I’ve done alot of restaurant jobs and salon reception and a pharmacy and some mall retail, I applied at whole foods and she never called me. one week later I got my dream job as a flight attendant, I was so happy!!! Now I’m on a medical leave and I can’t fly for one year and I’m looking for work in the meantime and it’s been HELL finding a job that provides health benefits and that will hire me. Everyone who said yes does not offer benefits or it’s after one year I am so fed up 🥺

I'm so sorry Mark, but glad that you were able to figure out what is going on. Good luck on your journey!
I am going through a similar situation as you and I am in Australia. I’m getting rejected at the final stages and they’re rude. I think getting a friend to call my ex employers for reference is a good idea.

Sadly, now a days, things like social media accounts and credit scores are not off limits to potential employers. As you mentioned, it's very unprofessional for these companies - whether big or small - to just flat out ignore people. Even if it is their company policy, it's a respect thing. I went to Ohio State Univ. for a year here in Lima and then unfortunately dropped out but, sadly, it does seem like it's easier for folks without degrees to get jobs then those who do. Unfortunately, these days, college degrees are not looked at as great as they once were - the more of something people have, the less valuable it becomes. I would say stick with the ride share most definitely - you can work exactly when you want and it'd probably pay you the same, if not a little more, then some other jobs you've been ghosted on. Good luck buddy - long time watcher!

How are things now mate? Did you get your job?
Go back to the school and ask for them to direct you to companies they work with.. Maybe you can find a paid internship with some companies. Colleges do work with hiring graduating students..
Most companies eliminated 'on campus recruiting' or hiring programs geared at recent graduates after 2008 and never brought them back. I've been working since I was fourteen but I don't know why I am still unemployed. I've applied to countless jobs and had countless interviews but I never hear back from any of the employers. I love animals so I tried to apply to the Maryland Zoo but sense I'm still in college and have no degree yet the only option was to work in the gift shop. I called and asked for an interview and I got one. I dressed up in a suit and tie and I went to the gift shop for the interview. Everything went well and the lady that interviewed me said I would get an email in two weeks but I never received anything. Then when I followed up she told me that they weren't hiring. I was like if you weren't hiring then why didn't you just say so. I then moved on to the PetSmart at route 40 baltimore national pike. I applied for a early morning stocking job twice. After a quick interview just like what happened at the Maryland Zoo I did not hear back from them so I went back after two weeks and asked the manager did he get my application and he said he didn't know apply again. I was like nah because I already filled out the job application twice and I wasn't gonna keep letting him waste my time. Then I filled out for many fast food jobs or warehouse jobs and I get nothing and they all just ignore me. I'm 22 years old and I should be working. To anyone who feels like they can't get employed know that your not alone. All I wanted was to work but it seems like no one wants to hire me. I don't have a lot of experience but I do learn very fast and I have worked at different companies like social security administration where I loaded and unloaded trailers along with transporting office supplies from floor to floor. I will never give up but sometimes It's tempting. Just pray for me yall.

Bring things current if you can, don't default, and you may have to start paying the account that is in collections. I know it sucks and it's not fair but in the end you can claw your way out of this.
I had heard that bad credit score could hurt you when it came time to find a job but damn this is just messed up man.

The Navient student loan is what destroying your credit report. When employers see all those negativity in your credit report, they will assume you are a "dead beat" or someone they cannot trust.
Why? It's current.
And while I believe you, they're just wrong.
From my understanding, you had one 90k student loan that you refused to pay them because they lost the loan documents. They can still report to the credit bureau with all the missed monthly payment and drop your score
That is not at all correct and neither is the second part.
You may be current now but your FICO is based on 7-10 years of credit history. Being current now is just a small part of your score. The free scores you get from credit karma and mint weight the last 2 years more than the scores used by the leading bureaus
Same bro I'm still looking for a job since last year May when I graduated :I
I'm not getting hired either but my credit is in the 800's
I honestly think that it's a shitty practice to have to look into someone's credit report in order to determine if they're worthy of being an employee. That just seems really strange to me and an invasion of privacy. I can understand it for a very small percentage of jobs, but property manager, no. I really think that the best way to get your foot in the door is to get to know someone that is well established in the industry and a break will come. You know how they say "it's who you know" well that's how I got my business going, through years of networking. I wanted to connect with a property manager so I got on an HOA board and worked with her for a few months and she approached me with work. Hang in there...getting your foot in the door is the hardest part but eventually you'll get it there.
Agree 200%
I feel like a problem too is, you need a job to even be Able to build up credit in the first place, because you build up credit by paying things off, which you can't do without an income, so that really seems to put a halt in the process. Like "Sorry, we can't hire you because you have no credit...But you need a job to build up credit."
That "networking" is fancy wording for nepotism lol.
Thank you for this video, sir.
Thank you so much for sharing your testimony. This run-around game is what I’ve gotten for the last THREE years. It’s just a different economy and people are more competitive than cooperative. But, it still doesn’t sit right that this is happening.
I was a property manager for over 20 plus years and yes! You are right!!! I left so unhappy with that new policy! My ex-husband was super qualified for a Maintenance position and he was hired almost set up to begin at another competition property and the manager there “behind the curtains” told me he was not hired because of real old medical. Really?! So we consulted with labor law attorney and my ex got compensated for two years salary. Now when my company found out what he did..... things began to turn on me. So slowly but surely tables turned against me and I was nicely forced to retire. I moved to an entire new state and still can not get hired. I loved my career. That new policy was an awful, awful move. So much more I could say but not worth it! Hope your okay? Thank you so much for sharing! I thought all these years I was crazy.
That all sounds exactly like the industry I know. I don't know how they network to keep certain people out of jobs but they do.
I don't know that I can say I'm ok. It set me back hugely financially. It drained all my savings and I had to work several part-time jobs to get by for almost two years. I did just start a job in a different industry in January but they're not going to force me out completely. I'm still going to own my own investment properties and eventually start my own property management business.
Well I pray you do! I later remarried and he and I also started our own little management business in which included flip and sell. It’s a busy start and you have to be very trusting but very rewarding and we began to make passive income. I later got into a car accident the female that hit me was texting and driving so that’s put us back again. Don’t give up!!’ It’s not so hard to do if you put your mind to it! Keep me posted! Love your story!

In the employment process a company has to legally tell you if they’re pulling your credit and you have to accept in writing. This is usually for financial institutions where they want to see stellar financial stability. I was clearly asked for mine recently but they’ll only pull it for certain institutions. I’ve read that they don’t check your score just the accounts. If you have a good relationship with a recruiter you could find out the reason if it is in fact your credit.

Same, as a 18 year old finishing up last year of school & applied for more than half of the jobs in my area, just feel like I have no choice than to sit in my room all day, do drugs & wait for the right moment to kill myself
Start a online business and do ridesharing. Self employment is the way to go
Too many “Bottleneck Regulations” made up of esoteric and catch-22 policies that make it impossible to open your own business. Licensing fees are too high, taxes too high, and they demand $1,000,000 liability insurance policies. Very prevalent in small/new business hating blue states like California.
Mary Harris I never said it was the absolute, nor did I say that there were no exceptions to that, you jackass. If you set up a business over 40 years ago in a blue state or in a red state with limited regs and lower taxes it can still work. Asshole.
Mary Harris probably because you set it up in a state that doesn’t have all of these regulations, or you set it up before many places started passing these regulations. Or you are a douchebag who is cheating the system. Or you inherited money from your parents. Fuck off and leave Princess Marlena alone you dipshit.
Mary Harris I hope your business goes under you dumb shit.
Mary Harris oh stfu. You don’t have a “six figure business”. You would be too busy to be trolling on UA-cam if that were the truth. You’re just some loser probably living off of someone else.
Graduated 4 years ago. Still trying to get my first job.
i just wanna pay for my car insurance
GIVE ME A DAMN JOB, IS IT THAT HARD?!?!
The company that you're applying for, they do check your social media. They check your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, UA-cam, etc. Possibly your internet activity history (You never know). If they don't like what they see, that's why you're not getting the job.
THANK YOU FOR THIS!
I wondered about this. Thing is, we can’t pay bills without employment.
This ought not detour people from hiring us.
This is one of my issues too but it is disturbing and disgusting to do this to people who do have a good work history!!!!!!!!!
I’m am very very angry that nobody hires us.
I have 30 years in my profession but no one will hire me either.
I’m furious.
Thank you for this!!!
How is this not illegal??????!!!!!
This happen to me so many times too and its so frustrating so I had to become self employed just to survive. Im rooting for you hope everything goes well for you
Thanks. I am also working on self-employment. I get some through here, some through affiliate links, and some from odd jobs. I have a full-time job now that doesn't care about credit.
Same exact thing has happened to me just happened last week. Can you tell me what you do for self employment work? Because I need some ideas to get started myself. I got a family I need to provide for. I can’t let my wife do all the work. So any ideas would help. I need to bring some money in here but can’t if shit like this keeps happening because employers want to be stingy.
@@Kal-El207 dude i'm in the same deal. I'm going through woodworking or even doing plumber and well a bit of everything knocking on doors to survive, i can't afford my own apartment so i stay with my parents while i can. Is a shame... You can make a good amount at this hard-works but sometimes is really shitty. You can try with sells too.
I went through the same thing almost 15 years ago. I've recently learned that you are not even safe from the self-employment blackball. So I got blackballed from regular employment AND self-employment. There's only one thing I CAN do, and I don't like it because it is not very productive.
Out of curiousity, do you think that it's discriminating to not hire someone due to credit?
I've been out of college for about three weeks now, and the job market has not been in my favor. Hope everything goes well.
I think it could be considered so. Especially because the reasoning behind using credit as a reason makes no sense and has no research to support it. Some states have added credit history to the classes protected in their civil rights bills but Ohio is not one of them.
It's not what you know it's who you know
I’m legally blind myself. Everyday I wake up and feel blessed to have food, clothing, shelter and be employed. At least 70% to around 83% of us blind and visually impaired folks are unemployed and experiencing homelessness and other disparities because we can't get a job or find housing, due to being unemployed. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 was a little helpful but up to a certain degree. I was homeless for six months back in the late 1990's when I was in my 20's, due to deep-rooted employment and housing discrimination. The disparities and statistics are probably a lot higher now because of the COVID-19 pandemic. I can't even imagine. You could have all the education, volunteer experience and skill sets in the world and still can't get a job. When rents or mortgages are a thousand dollars a month and up, Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is not going to cover everything. Absolutely disgusting. We are not criminals or X-felons. We have bills to pay and have to live. We should not have to live like this. And Section 14C of the Fair Labor Standards Acts needs to be abolished. This law gives employers every legal right to pay workers with disabilities sub-minimum wages. That's downright slavery. I refused to work for 50 cents an hour, for example. That doesn't even cover my bus fare going to and from work. These oppressive laws that keep people with disabilities impoverished and poor all need to be abolished. We face more disparities than most other groups but society doesn't want to talk about that. The bottom line is educating employers about hiring people with disabilities, regardless of education level, skill sets and volunteer experience. Some employers are willing to change their negative attitudes and serotypes about hiring people with disabilities and other employers just don't want to because they consider us a liability. You get tired of everybody considering you as a liability. Something needs to change. People of color fought for their civil rights and are still fighting for them. We disabled folks are still fighting for our basic civil rights. I don't think that's too much to ask
I agree 100%
no shit I need the job to pay my debt!!! good luck dear keep going you will eventually
Hope you get the debt cleared up. Good to finally have a reason. Debt will haunt you forever. Good luck.
The same shit is happening to me, Bro! If I knew you, I would hire you, immediately man. You have all the looks and business acumen, I would want. Good luck. You will find one!!
To be hired, what matters too is "who" you know, and not "what" you know,...also, previous relevant experience also counts (so it's tough for new grads to get hired since they don't have relevant experience)
I think it also matters who you know in a negative way. Like, if you had a bad experience with a manager that is held against you (even if the manager was the problem) the same as it would help you if the person you're interviewing with knew and liked your former manager.
Thank you for this video just came across it today and made me think more about it. I have poor credit but 15yrs of high end hotel experience. Been on a few job interviews very interested but no call backs. I'm also thinking they look at social media like Facebook and maybe because I'm anti vax and express it often 🤷♂️
Alot of age discrimination out here, they see how old you are on your resume and wont even grant you an interview period
and then they refuse to hire young people as well
Im having just as hard of a time now at 33 years old as I did at 23 out of college. I had a little streak when I was 30 and 31 i got a job 1 month after being let go and then 4 months after a contract ended. Now Ive had a second contract end and now ive been trying to get employment for about 21 months now. holy f*****ing shit
@@dibberz-v1z and then they have the nerve to call young people lazy and entitled.
As a young person (18 yrs old) sadly I experience the same thing. I’m old enough to do these jobs yet they always want older people.
I have a question how am I suppose to fix my credit debt to get a job IF I DONT HAVE A JOB?
It's amazing and a catch 22. I've been unemployed for 27 months and yes I have debt and I know my credit score has changed but at the same time my financial situation will not get better until I get steady income.
WOW! So my hubbie is watching this video
with me and he comments that this is exactly what I have gone through because of skin color. I do remember quite a few times throughout our marriage where the phone interview went perfect. They were excited, he was excited, then he comes in for the face to face and the hunny moon is over before it could even begin. People who have been discriminated against in this manner, for whatever the reason will NEVER be told why. The reason is because its WRONG! They have to operate in the shadows with it so getting straight feedback from them most likely wont happen. It leaves the individual in a position to have to fight to find out why. In my husbands case, its a scenario that many other people of color have had the excruciating pain of dealing with. When you know that they know you are probably the perfect candidate for the job and to get rejected?!!!Its sad really.
You have no idea how hard it is to get a job as a straight white male in America.
I've been applying since last september to so many different jobs and no one has ever got back to me. I am unemployable.
I have noticed the same thing I might as well stay on food stamps 😮
it's messed up your trying to get a good job to pay off debt, but they tell u they wont hire u if I have debt. contradiction's .
Mark, would you be open to mystery shopping?
Why hire more people when the company can make the same $$$ PRETENDING to hire people?
I'm not sure if the same thing is happening to me with the credit checks. But it would make sense, I have 3 medical bills in collections and I'm sure there are more to come.
Either way, I've had the same experience, I get to the second interview, then its over, or I get a, "we will let you know."
I have this issue I got feed up I have the training and skills but they just don’t like me when they meet in person I have a very confident personality and people find it intimidating I am working on starting my own business
I have been struggling with this since 2008! I have a 600+ credit score. After Plandemic; now I cannot even get interviews unless I force myself upon employers. My rejection rate is 100%. I have no criminal record, no bad habits, healthy body and sharp mind. Capitalism is predatory against the poor! Almost homeless for 3rd time again even though I am dual college educated!
Thanks for sharing
Am kinda having this same exact feelings as everything that u said in ur video, mister. It's just that our timing is different. I guess u're in a better situation now than I am the same with u in last 2 years...
I have very good instincts. If I was a small business owner, I would hire you. You seem sincere & serious about working. And esp now after Covid, a lot of people have less than perfect situations. The problem with large corporate jobs that pay decent salaries is that they have procedures & protocols. Hiring someone based on the hiring manager's instincts could backfire & get them fired. And so they follow the rules & go by the book. Are you still doing rideshare driving? I had a good run for 5 years driving full time but it was ultimately unsustainable for several reasons. Thanks for your honesty.
I jsut went through an interview process with a tech firm. I prepared for the interview and did the best I ever have. Took all the advice from the job coaches Etc. Was told I'd hear back by Friday but by Friday no word. I knew they were calling the people they were hiring and waiting till whenever to notify those who were not hired.
I have a ticket for expired Car tag. Since taken care of that. My credit is otherwie perfect. I let the tag lapse on purpose part of a protest in WA state when we vvoted in 30 dollar car tags and the govt tied it up in court and got a shady judge to toss it out. Was this enough to cause me to be passed by?
This literally everything I am feeling and going through right now😤😢 It has been the same amount of time for me, you are not alone! I have tried everything and I can't even get interviews! At least you're getting all that, all I get in rejection after rejection! even after paying someone to re-write my resume, my references all check out good, credit is great. I don't know, we thought maybe it was because I had self-employment on my resume so I took it off, ok more calls but a lot of what recruiters are calling me for is a waste of time. I'm not qualified and it's not even jobs I want to do. I really do not get it, ageism? Do they want a blank canvas? I really don't know. i wish someone would explain it to me.
Mark, I was wondering if you know what all your references are saying about you? I had a friend who was having a hard time getting a job. What happened is someone ( who she never thought would give her a bad reference, ) gave her a poor reference.
You might have missed this, but in the video he says he did have a friend call his references pretending to be a potential employer to see what they would say. They were all fine.
Okay, that makes sense. I did not see that one.
I do know that people that hire do look up facebook and You tube to check us out.
It sure seems like this. Thanks for writing back. I like your you tube name.
We're in the same boat. I've been unable to get a job for over a year now. No clue why, ive gotten my background checks back n my credit report, I cant even get a job with Lyft. Self employment (with zero dollars to start a business) or become a mountain man. Either way, ive given up hope in getting hired. I dont waste my time on false hope anymore. This is supposedly the best time to get a job, with my states unemployement rate being as low as it is, if I cant get hired now at a time that is supposedly the best time to find work, what the actual f*** am I gonna do if the u.s. gears up toward a recession. I 100% feel your struggle man.
I can help you out with Lyft. There's an appeal process for both the background and credit portion. What did it say you were rejected for?
Even though you are current on all your bills, your credit reveals you have a very high debt to income ratio. Thus, in the eyes of some, that makes you a bad risk. It sucks and it makes no sense to me to turn someone down for a job b/c of their credit report but more jobs are looking at these types of things because the market is so competitive.
We are in a war on humanity. It is not your fault.
Yes I just applied to retail online got no response yet? Still struggling to get a suitable job. I wish retail can hand out applications in person. Since Covid hit, finding a job got worse. You are not alone. It’s 2022. Goodluck 👍
I feel like I be doing everything right and I’m still not getting the job. And the fucked up part is interviewers won’t be cool enough to tell you what you did wrong during the interview. I’m just drained and fed up. I’ve been having this same problem since I’ve been an adult and I’m 26.
This just makes me so anxious. I'm a 20 year old college student and a few years ago my friend accidentally scratched my cornea. I never had to deal with debt or hospital bills or anything until that point and so I owe a few thousand dollars to that hospital for treating my cornea scratch.. it was stupid and I shouldn't have gone to the ER but I didn't know any better. So now what if someone doesn't give me an internship or a job because I have an account in collections for medical debt. Like, why do we try at all anymore if my life is going to be ruined for a cornea scratch. Smh.
I am so sorry
I’m currently going through this, it would be nice to talk to someone about it.
Good thing you've got this behind you. now you know and can move on.
This is happening to me right now and im losing my mind!
Hey brother you are not the only one that is suffering but it won’t be long term. Starbucks only checks background but not your creditworthiness. Give it a try. Don’t give up. God bless you!
