So glad to see your sweet smile again , it must be a lovely holiday. You deserve it. Keep it up and don’t give up, you’ll be totally fine and fully recovered. 👍👍💪💪
It is good to see a smile on your face. Will continue to pray for full recovery. I am at three months out and seeing small improvements. Best regards from Kentucky, USA.
Hi Jane, I’m 12 months out from right TKR and my rehab hasnt gone very well. My surgeon told me to be patient but after all this time I’m 20-25 degrees off straightening so my walking is still very hard. Bending seems to be adequate for me to do what I need. I really appreciate you taking the effort to make these videos as it helps me to consider what could help to improve my recovery. My original surgeon retired so was not around to give much support. I have had one appt with another surgeon but it’s obvious that at this stage and what he thinks is a lot of scar tissue, it’s going to require major surgery again. I hope that your recovery goes well and there are no complications with infection. You are very inspiring. Before I found your videos I felt very alone in this situation. Thank you so much! Margriet
Hi Margriet. Thank you so much for your message, it’s message like yours that keep me going although I am very sorry to hear you are having problems. Maybe you could consider the straightening brace I show in this video and also, have you had an MUA? If the surgeon thinks it’s scar tissue, an MUA would help you and worth trying before having a full revision. I will be getting the results of my biopsy next Tuesday so I will do another vlog to update you all but please keep in touch and don’t hesitate to ask me any questions. Take care Margriet. 😊😘
Hi Jane, thanks for your reply. yes I had a good look at the straightening brace you’ve been using and was very impressed. I will talk to my surgeon about it if I go ahead with a revision. Where I am in Australia MUA seems to be reserved for the first 3-6 months after TKR. After that it’s a revision operation to open up the leg again. Ugh.
@@margrietemerick2450 Hi Margriet. Yes, please ask about the brace as it would be fantastic if you could avoid having to have a revision. I know the MUA helps more the flexion rather than the extension but it has been very successful for me this time and I’m almost 10 months post TKR. I wish you lots of luck and please keep in touch. 😘😊
Hi Jane wishing you all the best and I have a good feeling that you are not going to have any infection present and are going to get all this behind you soon. You are such a trooper throughout this I don’t know how you can stay so positive.you’re lucky to have someone like your fiancé to help you through all this he seems like a really good guy. I’m 3 months out now on my left knee and it’s great, still aches especially at night but I’m sure it will get better. I’ve scheduled my right knee for the end of December. Hopefully it will go as well as my left knee. Keep us posted, I look forward to seeing your videos and get better soon.
Hi John. You’re so right, I couldn’t get through this without Alex, he’s been fantastic throughout all this, I am a very lucky girl. 😊 It sounds like you’ve done so well with your knee John and you are very brave to have the right one done so soon but you know what to do and what to expect so I’m sure you’ll ace it again. Good luck and keep me posted. 😘😊
Thank you for the update. You are a real trooper to keep moving so positively through this journey. I will be praying with you that there is no infection and that the surgery and the braces will do the trick and you will be back to normal soon. Hang in there!
Thank you - I am scheduled for my left TKA on Monday and appreciate the sharing of your journey. I pray that recovery is going well with you and that you have reached the most beautiful chapter of your journey :)
Thank you so much and I wish you the best of luck for your surgery on Monday. 🙏🏻🤞🏻 Please keep in touch and let me know how you are getting on. I think I am starting to get somewhere now. 😊😘
Sweetheart you really are going through it with your knee. We will keep our fingers crossed that this will prove to be a turning point for you. Meanwhile you must do you level best to keep smiling and believe that things may soon improve. After all you have been through since your knee replacement, you certainly do deserve some luck. Jane, my wife and I continue to follow you and we both wish you all the very best with your latest procedure. Keep your chin up sweetie...
Hello Jane sending healing prayers your way I'm doing well going to Sea World Orlando Florida it's only an hour from me going to do a lot of walking have a wonderful Thanksgiving day
Hey Jane, been so looking forward to your vlog. I didn’t realize either that the incision would be so long! That is definitely a Jas machine. They also do one for the bend too. Just keep it going with the stretching and bending as much as possible. So glad it’s behind you now and you are keeping positive. Thinking of you 😘
Hi Jane You’re really been through the mill this week haven’t you? Hopefully the biopsy will be clear and judging by your determination to get on with your exercises your range of movement will definitely improve🙂 I really hope your surgeon has good news for you when you see him. Stay positive - you’re a superb role model for all of us who have been through knee surgery!!!!!
Thank you so much Mary, it’s messages like yours that really keep me going. 😘 I’m seeing the physio tomorrow so I’ll get a new plan to follow and I’ll find out on 7th December if it’s infected or not so keep your fingers crossed Mary. 🤞🏻😊🥰
Aww thank you so much for thinking about me Rita. 😘 I had an appointment today which was positive so I’ll try and post an update tomorrow with all my latest news. I hope you are doing well. 🤞🏻🙏🏻🥰x
I was just doing some stretch’s and wondered how you were doing. Glad to see you home and with improved rom even if you havnt had the biopsy results yet. Fingers crossed. Saw my surgeon last week and he was pleased with progress but unhappy that i have only seen the physio once in nearly 9 weeks, seems a shortage of them round here. Last check was 108 and 2 off straight. Seems to have gone down hill this week and pain or rather deep ache is back, still keeping me up at night. I am trying to be positive but it does get you down when you are restricted in what you can do. So taking a leaf out of your book we have booked a cottage in Northumberland for 10 days, walking dogs on beach and exploring. Bugger the pain i will just up the meds and add some wine! Keep safe
Thanks Dave. You are still doing so well and it’s only early days for you. You should definitely be getting more physio sessions though and then your ROM will increase even more. 🤞🏻 You’ve done the right thing booking a holiday and I really hope you have a fantastic time, definitely squeeze in a glass or two and enjoy!🍷Take care. 😊
Glad you are out of the Hospital! Stay strong, regardless of the path you are moving forward now. Do they do ESR and CRP blood tests in the UK to screen out infection? Prayers things go your way. BTW - you are increasing your skill on making videos! Looking forward to your next update.
Hi Kenneth, thank you so much for your lovely message. They did the ESR blood tests the week before surgery but they don’t just rely on those, they always do the biopsy too. I’m happy you are enjoying the videos, I have to say it’s all thanks to my fiancé Alex as he’s the photographer and puts them together for me!! I’m a lucky girl!! 😊 Take care Kenneth 😘
Hi Kenneth. Thank you so much for thinking of me. 😊 I had a little setback yesterday as I went to have my staples out but when the nurse took the first two out, the skin started to separate so I have to wait another week. 😩 On a positive note though, I do feel I am starting to turn the corner as the pain is lessening and it’s getting easier to bend to 90 degrees!! 👏 Baby steps. Best wishes to you Kenneth. 😘
So good to see you on the recovery path. It is certainly interesting to see the differences in procedures between what you are experiencing in the U.K. and what I have been going through in Canada. I have my next appointment with my surgeon tomorrow and hopefully he will agree that things are slowly improving * fingers crossed* Looking forward to your next update! ~peace and love~
Hi Kelvin. Yes it was much bigger than I expected but, because my original scar was quite wide and pink, the surgeon cut a lot of it out to tidy it up and I must say it’s much neater now it has healed. I’m still on the morphine patches so I can really get the physio done and my brace 3 times a day which can be very painful.
@@kelvinjohnwaltho2221 Hi Kelvin and thank you for your message. I’m back at work now but still struggling with trying to maintain the range and pain management. It’s getting straighter as I’m still using the JAS brace so the range is roughly 8 - 107 degrees. I’ve just been put on an exercise ban as my physio thinks it’s getting irritated by all the movement I’m doing. I just wish it would get better.
So glad to see your sweet smile again , it must be a lovely holiday. You deserve it. Keep it up and don’t give up, you’ll be totally fine and fully recovered. 👍👍💪💪
