  • Sometimes life puts you in places you never thought you would be, Jesse found himself confronted with one of Australia’s most despicable inmates. He did what others wish they could. But it’s no accident that he was involved or that he was there. Some people I just attracted to the more dramatic side of life. They seem to draw it like a magnet. This is Jesse‘s story. Make sure to follow him and support him on all his channels as a way to personally thank him for what he has done, something many of us wish they could.

    Australians owe you a huge thank you Jesse! Especially the young girls that were victims of Bilal’s and his gang, I’m sure if they knew it would give them some small satisfaction.
    I truly wish you all the best going forward. I’m glad you’ve found a good PO and a charity that will support you. It’s so much needed since one of the main principles of sentencing is rehabilitation, yet you were offered no resources. Our prison system is truly broken.
    I have to wonder if it’s because of the introduction of private prisons, where they want to keep a revolving door because they earn more money?
    I have a good feeling that you won’t be back. You’ve got the support and the determination you need to make it work and stay on the outside. You’ve got this Jesse! ❤

    • @davidvincent2838
      @davidvincent2838 24 дні тому +7

      @katrinamitchell1709 You're so right, it doesn't take long to become institutionalised. Some people are mentally stronger than others, but at the end of the day, all gaol time teaches is better criminal connections and skills. The Gaol system does nothing to create support relationships and opportunity in the community upon release. In a lot of cases, the parole system expectations just add further barriers, and nothing to change community stigma for people to turn their lives around even if they jump through all the hoops.

      It’s fkn disgusting the way nsw provide nothing to parolees to help them reintegrate into society. My brother was released about 9 months ago after doing 10 in and even as a SVO classo he has been provided not a fucking thing to help him other than some rent subsidy, and a mandatory tele-conference course on DV. My bro crashed his car and sadly killed a person in the crash, subsequently he has PTSD and he can’t even see how affected he is from the traumatic events. Its fucking disgusting and I strongly support the reform and changes needed to help those getting their release. I grew up in Belmont and Jesse is one of my friends cuz. Hats off to him for giving it a crack and focusing on staying on the straight line, its so nice to see his face pop up on my fb in the feed and im sure his family have full hearts again having him home. ✌️

    From a guy who went to a Private school and I’ve never had to speak to the Police. It’s very unbalanced that I should live a comfortable life and that there’s so many lives who could avoid losing decades of their lives in jail just because their potential is not acknowledged. For whatever reason, kids, teens & adults need to be supported so they can choose their future. Being screwed for minimum wage is no way to make a future so I see why dealing is attractive.

Ive seen it in my own family and some of my friends. I really do feel a calling for it. I have been through addiction and homelessness and have narrowly avoided prison time myself thank God. Most people don't seem to care but I believe every human has dignity and worth. It also just makes sense to help people not to reoffend, it is better for society as a whole.

      Hi Mate, how are you, there is a video on Goulburn Jail. But there is a heater on the wall at the top however there is also an open window at the top and heat rises so it all stays at the top.

    Well done Jesse and a fantastic interview Paddo I’m a first time viewer. You guys are spot on with need for reform as you look at the states with the death penalty the crime rate is INSANE but you look at European countries crime is low and happiness in general is higher. The new Queensland juvenile laws are just going to make more criminals to be feed into the system.

  • @timMate-s9i
    @timMate-s9i 21 день тому +4

    Hey mate. Really enjoyed the interview. I’m a law student. At about the 20 min mark when Jesse got the cumulative sentence instead of it running concurrently I don’t think it’s the judge looking after the scumbag. The Judges likely used their discretion to run the sentence cumulatively due to Jesse having the history of violent offences. Not at all about who the victim is. My personal opinion is Bilal got what was coming to him but the decision seems largely right at law to a students understanding anyway.

    • @Paddotube
      @Paddotube  20 днів тому +4

      Ok I got stabbed nine times in the back. One of them was in for murder two of them for robbery. I’ve been convicted of Jail stabbings before, they got 12 months 12 months in 18 months to run concurrent.
      I know a normal assault in the street that would make sense but people get a lot less time for Jail assault because of the obvious circumstances of where we are. Understand where you’re coming from, but we know a lot of people that have been done for assault in Jail, there seems to be a pattern when they are putrid That people get longer.

    • @timMate-s9i
      @timMate-s9i 20 днів тому +3

      I do not disagree with you one bit. I also do not always agree with the outcomes that the courts come to. It’s also to some degree a problem with the legislation and what the courts/ judges are allowed and not allowed to assess in each situation. Like I said I think Jesse seemed like a regular bloke to me and I have no sympathy for what happened to Bilal. I’m only trying to provide a little bit of understanding for people to think about when it comes to the sentences and why. At first glance yes it’s f***ed but the reasoning is sound when you look into the “WHY” was that the sentence the judge chose rightly or wrongly.
      Thanks for writing back honestly wasn’t expecting that. Again love the content

    You're so right about screws on a power trip. I'm very fortunate that I had good educatipn before my offending. I could intellectually run rings around some of the dumbass screws and gov's I've had the displeasure of meeting. Unfortunately, under incarciration, the dumbasses have power, which is a dangerous thing. My message to Jessie is, don't underestimate yourself mate, I've taught many illeterates how to read and write (very basically of course, cause I'm no trained teacher) but you seem to have some great skills in this department. Grow your knowledge and skills Jessie in whatever makes you feel good, YOU WILL SUCCEED despite a system that works against you.
