    Everyone....
If you can, show your appreciation for all the time and knowledge Rawcat has given to us for free.
As a family man myself, I can barely find time to research and work on my car audio, let alone recording and making free tutorial videos.
I heard him say on a different channel, something along the lines of ......"I dont want to charge, cause I had difficulties finding this info, and I dont have a lot of money myself, so I want everyone to have access to it."
Now thats an honorable man, worthy of our support and appreciation.
Think of it as an investment of future car audio knowledge. Check links in description.

I had chat gpt 4 write a program that imports the filters from REW to the Alpine DSP software. It has made tuning so much easier and actually fun. I just save each channel in a file (1-12) and then I open my program, type in the channel number, and then place my cursor in the DSP software, and it automatically keys in all of the numbers. I have to do that for each channel but omg it's been life changing. It's an unbelievable time saver. I used to have to type in 150 complicated numbers, now I just type 1, click ok twice, put cursor in program, after 10 seconds it's starts typing in all of the filter values, type in 2, click ok twice, put cursor in program, after 10 seconds it starts typing in all the values, type in 3, etc.....

@@RAW-CAt Yes, of course. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YywJjH-dF-D_09BGCLV0LDdTWaOjI3c6?usp=drive_link That google drive folder has the .exe file and also the code. The issue is that I'm not a known publisher of software so your computer probably won't like it and might think it's a virus. I assure it's not a virus but most people aren't just going to take my word for it. That's why i included the raw code. You can look at in a text editor. If your computer doesn't like the program, you could copy and paste the code into chat gpt and basically ask chat gpt how to run the code and it will tell you. It'll involve downloading python and importing python libraries and running the code in command prompt. I'm not a programmer, I simply asked chat gpt to write the program. It took awhile, this is probably my 15th try before everything worked. But like I said, chat gpt can tell you how to run it. If you get errors, just copy and paste the errors and ask chat gpt what the problem is.
The program is designed so that you need to put the .exe in the same folder as your exported filters. In REW EQ, under "Filter Tasks" there is "Export filter settings as text". Don't use "Export filter settings as formatted text". It won't be able to read formatted. After you "Match response to target", you click on "Export filter settings as text" and save it as the number for the corresponding channel on your DSP. So channel 1, save it as "1", which will be "1.txt". So after you create your text files for each channel, you can use the python program. It will ask which channel? Then you type in 1, hit enter. Then it will say that you have 10 seconds to put the cursor in the first field in the DSP software. So just click on the software and click the first box. The program will then type in all of the filters. It's setup so that it keystrokes "select all", types in the value hits enter, "selects all", types in the value, hits enter, until it's done. Just remember to save the files 1-12.txt in the same folder as this program. You're welcome to do whatever you want with this program and information.

@@RAW-CAt I wrote a long explanation but it seems to have disapeared. The link is for google drive. I included the program and the raw code. The problem is that since I'm not a known publisher of software your computer might not like it and people will worried that it's a virus. I can assure you that's not a virus but that might not be good enough for a lot of people. You can copy the code and then ask chat gpt how to run it, if you don't know how. It will tell you to download python and import some libraries and you if you get any errors you can just show chat gpt and ask what the problem is.
Here's how the program works. In REW, after you match to the target and it gives you EQ filters, you click on "save as a text file". Don't click on "formatted text', just "text". Save the EQ filters in the same folder as the program is located. Use the channel numbers to name the file. So 1 through 12. And then, to import them to the DSP software just open the program, it'll ask which channel and you type in "1" for channel 1. It will read the text file that you saved in the same folder as the program with that name (1.txt). Then you hit enter or click ok. It will warn you that you have 10 seconds to put your cursor in the first filter field in the DSP software. You hit enter or click ok and you have 10 seconds to click on the DSP software and then click frequency for the first filter and after 10 seconds it will key in all of the filters for you. It read the text file and keys in all of the numbers.
Today, I took some measurments, and I timed how long it took to import the filters. Including setting the correct HP and LP filters and setting the target values, it took less than 7 minutes to save all of the files and import them into the DSP software for 6 channels. So, if my levels are already good and my HP and LP are already decided on, I can do a quick tune for my 3 way front stage in about 12 minutes, easily. It's such a pain to do it manually. It's almost a deal breaker for using the DSP.

Thanks for the vid! I have used the Alpine 0850S for a couple of years, purely as a DSP (not the amp). I've been using various DSPs since back in the 90s (i.e., Sony XDP-4000x) That Sony ES piece was amazing at the time. Anyway, I wanted 9 fully active channels and the Alpine fit the bill. The Bluetooth dongle is garbage for reliable tuning, but I've been pretty happy using the USB connection for tuning with a laptop. They should not have included the BS amplifier channels. They are obviously crap, even for tweeters and fill.

I think where optical makes a difference is in a car. From what I understand (not an expert at all), is that there are other signals in the cars elecrical system that make their way into the audio system via ground (analog). I had a faint hiss you could only hear with your ear next to tweets and mids, no audio playing and parked. When I switch to optical, it was gone and my highs got super crisp and detailed. Im thinking optical simply isolates audio signal from cars polluted electrical system.

    Okay, here's something..
I have been eyeballing Sennuopu DSPs for a while, trying to decide whether to give one a chance. I haven't seen any bad review of one yet, but also haven't seen a credible tester do one yet.
It would be great to see you do a test on one, just for fun, see how they rate, and as cheap as they are how much bang for the buck.

If you look, he has a review for the DP-X10, seemed to perform ok for a budget DSP. Remote seemed pretty awful, wouldn't want to use that daily. Probably best bang for buck is a used Helix if you can find one, but the Sennuopu probably suits the average users needs just fine

Audioscience has a review of the 8x12.
It looks really good as long as you use a digital input. Although in reality there isn't much between anolog vs digital in the real world.
I use to use anolog and now use spdif, it is better but that could be from compounding reasons like not having a dac stage in the headunit.
Slightly different subject but where the standard 8x12 is let down is that it only has 10 parametric points per channel. But where it wins is when it has Dirac enabled.
I would like to see them make a v3 that has 30 pints and Dirac then both auto and manual tuning options would be good. But I do find Dirac amazing when using it with the 7 channel tuning method. I use all 8 as I have a front sub.

Is it a BTL amp which has DC offset compared to GND on both + and - outputs?
The cosmos ADC seems DC coupled and will not be happy wit the DC on its inputs.
Please couple the input truly balanced and remove DC offset from both + and - output of the amp.

the DSP uses TDA7851 and yes, it's an internally bridged amp. i hope he's going to tell us how the amp hooked up since one of his previous amp test also failed. im guessing he hooked up the speaker - to ground

@@prky009 the only benefit of the helix MK2 over alpine will be the all pass filters. The MK2 is an older model that does not have virtual channels and it works on the older slower platform. Between these two, I would choose the Alpine as it's cheaper.

For my 3 way rear stage im running audison AP F8.9. For my 3 way front stage im running helix dsp3 to dedicated ab amplifiers and sub stage.
Glad i avoided alpine dsp/amp combo for my rear stage. Was considering them, but audison just offered more power and features with the AP F8.9.
Would be interesting to see data charts for audison to compare to helix and alpine.
