Got mine yesterday 56/10..chipped in for bird first round...Very nice
Your passion for the product is showing.............OUTSTANDING
Great advice. I could listen to you all day. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊😊
Really good video trottie, explanations are so down to earth to understand, just wish I could hit it as clean
Perfect timing. Getting fitted next week.
I use a hi-toe 3 58 degree raw face and love it! Its a flop shot master, its a shortside chipper, its a 100 yard shot maker, its a green side bunker saver, I use it almost every hole. It was $200 fitted, making it my most expensive wedge but I love it so much! The huge face gives so much confidence.
Which bounce did you get?
The 10
Would like to hear you compare your different wedge models… choose the good one for the level, needs, grass, hard ground, etc….
Got these wedges excellent 👌 👏 👍
Trottie for President
I have one Vokey, one mizuno, and one TM Z spin. The Z spin is really good lol. I might want to invest on the hi toe soon.
I need all 4 !!
I recently demod the 60-13 ht and really liked it. I thought low bounce was best for Northeast but now I'm not sure.
Dudes a boss!
Every time I watch you Chris I wanna go out and do it but then when I do it’s nothing like you😂 lot of work ahead
You got this fella 👊🏻
Trotti for president, he can explain anything!
🤣😂
Taylormade would do well to put your videos up on their UA-cam as well, incredible! Any particular options you’d recommend for some whose local course has absolutely hard packed (nearly dirt) bunkers? Current 60° is full sole and I can’t do anything to avoid the ‘ol skull across the green 😂
Thx fella & that’s a question I get asked a lot. Don’t open the blade as much & hit a little closer to the ball. You’re only in real trouble if there’s a lip
Love the video Trottie...hoping you can answer a question, whats the key difference between the Hi Toe and the Hi Toe 3?
Exactly that the Hi-Toe. More mass out in the toe, the full face grooves all help for shots hit high in the blade, shots out the rough (tricky to calculate the low point) or shots where you pull the blade left.
Epic content as always, what’s your preferred shaft in these?
S4's K-I-S-S
I have a question. I play a 50° gap wedge and love to use it for various shot besides an approach shot. What is your opinion for a reason why a golfer would want a 50° high toe wedge other than possible heavy rough? Great videos. Love the pace and length. Info is top notch and I really like the fact that your use of actual golf conditions like grass sand and real swings.
Glad you like the channel, thanks for the feedback & good question. Launch model v model will be slightly different with the hi toe 50*. Plus the finish & then matching the feel through your wedges. Main thing is the progression through the wedges.
Useful video, but your lighting is poor. Don’t be in the shade unless you use a light.
What do you think about hydrophobicity? I play often in the morning dew and my playing partner has a ping wedge that seems super consistent throughout the morning.
Hi Trottie really interesting video thank you. I’m a higher HC senior (Hampshire UK) and have been using Ping G20 wedges. Definitely the worst part of my game mainly because I do not practice enough. I did win a NewPingGlide last summer in a comp but just can’t get on with it. I really like the look of the high toe wedges but not too sure which to go for. I guess a fitting but being a leftie not too sure where to choose any thoughts would be well appreciated.
Silvermere a solid option in that part of the world. Tough to advise beyond that without seeing you hit. Std bounce obv the safe answer from my iPhone
great vid, 1. on standard chips do you raise heel and open slightly or square? 2. here in AZ, we have firm and lush fairways/rough, is it smart to have 1 low and 1 high bounce for firm/soft lies? which ones? 54/12 & 58/8? love my 58/15 hi toe but concerned with firm lies?
1) yes & open face depends on shot required. 2) std bounce initially, loft depends on your gapping. 3) 15* is a lot of bounce, i'd say drop that to the 10*
Trottie can we get a link to the Nike gear?? Need it!
Trottie, I'm a shallow path player, what model would you recommend for a 55-56* middle wedge for play out of tight grainy paspalum or kikuyu grass like at Torrey South? I typically gravitate to the M grinds in the Vokey world. Love your content and high energy videos!
hey mate thx for the message.
Okay so the disclaimer is it's tough to fit without seeing the action.
The reason I default to that answer is because I'd want to see how well you leverage the bounce. For me personally I don't I use the bounce perfectly every time but from experience in those types of grasses I like the std bounce offering from TaylorMade.
However, I then look to someone who's obv best in class like a Rory & he is now using more bounce (high bounce) and when you listen to him it makes complete sense how that bounce gives him a buffer and some room to hit out of a wider variety of grass types and lies.
For me, in summary, if you can leverage the bounce then try the higher bounce wedges, if you don't think your technique can get there then go to std. I wouldn't go for lower bounce wedges in kikuyu I'd save that for firm Open Championship type courses.
Hope this helps, obv not a perfect science for the answer without seeing you live.
@@trottiegolf Thank you! I'll keep my eye out for a demo day and give a few of the wedges a try!🙏
I wanted so much to like the MG3TW wedges and the regular MG3s but they just didn't perform near as well as the Jaws Raw and SM9 do. They also felt clunky off the face at least to me.
Finally new 60 incoming
Trottie need your help.. I play in Florida , primarily square faced shots with my GW and SW they both have 12 degrees of bounce .. for my LW only use it for around The green chips and bunkers.. do I get standard bounce or high bounce for the LW ? Is it important to have variation on bounce for my setUp?
STD I'd say. I just think this'll allow you more wiggle room both ways. Florida I find so tough to chip
They look sweet, can’t wait to get one. Just wondering, I have a high toe Bigfoot 60deg, I’ve heard on the web that you can’t open it up and you just use it square, any truth to that?
Of course you can open it. Just better suited when open to softer conditions in the rough, wet rough lies & then heavier sand
@@trottiegolf Awesome, that gives me a bit more versatility for sure. So would you recommend keeping it square in the bunkers?
Thanks man, appreciate your work!
@@noah0700 depends on the depth of the sand, how firm it is & how heavy it is. That ain’t a cookie cutter answer
What do you think is a all condition wedge set with the bounce number? I uses 50 54 and 58
depends on your technique but the safe answer is standard
I have the 54 standard bounce(bent to 55)and I love it from full to half shots and even from the bunker and I also have the 60 degree but I’m really struggling to use it and can’t get on with it,would a 60 degree be a better option from the bunker(my club has hard to normal/heaps of sand) and from the thick rough and also I have the P790 5-GW,would taking the p790 gw out and replacing it with the hi toe be a good option or would I be better off keeping the set gw in my bag?
I like the hi-toe option and absolutely try your 60* out the sand
@@trottiegolf so you think it would be a great option to switch out the p790 GW for the hi toe 50 degree?
@@michaelgillies9075 I don't hate it, you know me if you've been following for a while. PLYR preference, the PLYR is the boss... but I certainly don't hate you wanting to investigate that option
@@trottiegolf that’s very true👍some food for thought Thankyou
From the p770 PW can I do 52,56,60 for these wedges??
yes
So i think ive been playing sand shots all wrong all these years. Up here in canada we have heavy wet brown sand and ive always used my 56 and 60* that both have 10-12 bounce. So since its wet i should be using something low like 6-8* i presume so instead of bouncing off sand and chance at skull it will always dig and allow sand to throw ball on green??
Ummm yea you could take that from this vid for sure. 8* should be enough to make this technique work, just remember if you go less bounce then you're gonna trade something out that you might need out of rough.
Try to think about it as in using different parts of the sole for different shots, so with the traps as long as you get that face open and reveal the heel part of the bounce then you got a shot
So do pros always use 3 gap wedges in the bag. If so what are the most common of the 3 i run a 58 54 and a 50 but idk if thats right.
All depends on many factors. Rory this week on 46°, 54° 58° moved to 59°. Things like bounce, yardages, turf conditions will all impact the weekly choice. For the AM’s you gotta ask yourself do you want / need a 60° & then go from there
@@trottiegolf thanks u are the man trottie
ATV grind in a 64°?
These wedges immediately change your game
Is it possible to get a hi toe wedge with no raw face
And when your sand is more like concrete! Less bounce with what loft?
Yea less bounce works but it's dependent on the lip too.
You don't always have to play it high therefore you wouldn't need to reveal a ton of bounce if the sand was firm.
Trade offs is the key, you have to look at everything as a whole & it might be that you need to carry bounce options
@@trottiegolf thanks for taking time to read and answer to your fans😜
I love my TM irons but I’m not taking my Vokey out of the bag
It's a real shame that TaylorMade dropped the NS Pro Modus 3 Wedge shaft from the options for 2023 :-(

Safe to 90% of golfers in the u.s. will not play in Europe….
Just don’t use a towel on full shots out side of wedges. You will drastically lose speed.
Yea but when you remove the towel you’ll be more connected and gain the speed back
@@trottiegolf I prefer to have something on my forearms for connection and just focus on keeping my lead arm closer to my chest for control. Tried towel in the past and feel it hurt my swing more than it helped
I recently purchased my first Taylormade Hi Toe 54* 10* bounce wedge! It's early stages and simulator tested but I'm impressed! 🐊🏌🦅🇺🇲
