Sarah Presley if I were a youtuber I’d NEED a friend like Jack to give me honest feedback! The amount of youtubers surrounded by “yes men” would keep anyone out of the loop
sarah yeah but not in public - I’d much rather they told me directly and didn’t talk about stuff I’d done wrong to hundreds of thousands of people who will go on to (oftentimes) hold a swayed view and support purely that side of it without consideration for a larger picture - alongside insulting ‘me’
Everyone says this, but as soon as they have a friend like that they usually neglect them or get tired of their honesty. I would know, I'm the guy that calls out people's bullshit and have lost plenty of long term friendships because people can't handle the truth. It's fucked up, but people are always happier when others are licking their ass and validating their bad decisions rather than having someone criticise them. In short, people are fake as fuck and claim they want one thing when really they want another.
I know this isn’t my podcast channel; but as I “called Alex out” from this channel I fully believe his right of reply should be broadcast in the same way. I’m actually glad that we were able to have this conversation. Please let me know what you guys think down below, I will be replying all evening and weekend. Cheers you lot. Also - 15,000 likes by midnight and I’ll upload again on Monday. Cheers!
I don't think there was any miscommunication. You were fair all along. Giving him a chance to explain his side on this platform was a sound thing to do, so fair play man!
I listened to both parts of the podcast the other day but I'm also watching the video because it was an amazing couple of hours to listen to the two of you work through this in such a mature way
Big difference between Jack and other youtubers is when jack has ‘beef’ with them he doesn’t go and make diss tracks or boxing, he sits face to face with them and sorts it out. Alfie should mirror this and invite jack onto his podcast to sort out their differences
err he posted a viral video criticising his friend, which seems pretty standard youtube dickhead to me. should only be praising him if he took alex to the side privately and talked properly first, being his f r i e n d n everything. idk.
That Alfie video was poor. He kept inturupting, was far too defensive and didn't let Alex or Fraiser really speak and explain. He can't take any criticisms.
they’ve also deleted every negative comment on the video. about 10k dislikes yet you won’t find a single comment that’s not on alfie’s side. it’s pathetic
Alfie can now afford to silence viewers who hate on him or say negative things about him. When you’re a multimillionaire, he doesn’t really need 1 million plus viewers watching his videos any more.
Only thing I really feel like saying is, that Alex needs to redefine the term “friend”. Otherwise he’ll be disappointed in people over and over and over again.
Niyma right. i know exactly how alex feels, i’ve been through situations like this before (except obviously not the youtube version of it w video callouts but pretend its 2008-2009 and myspace lol and then we were forced to be face to face in afterschool situations) and i always reacted exxxxactly the same as him and even when i thought someone was wrong couldnt help but just try to make things better. and morally i agree with evvverything jack has had to say, so watching this and conceptualizing it all kinda sucked putting myself in either of their shoes but i respect that they worked it out like this, i would’ve done anything back then to work anything out this way
Same, I also get panicked when people text me, I never answer my phone either, anxiety is so strange and so many people just think you don't care or aren't bothered and it's the complete opposite, the reason your not replying is because you over think everything.
Haha niyma I’m going to assume you just don’t know how much of a sleeze he is. He legit uses anxiety that people suffer from to just snake around. He says he gets anxiety opening messages (I do in real life)?! Hah well he has no problem doing it in front of the world on Twitter....and he exposes other people on Twitter...if you had anxiety....would you be able to do that? I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt but he is a scum bag.
Jack is such a good friend! He is the most honest sometimes mean person, but if you are deeply offended you can sit down and be as honest as possible with him, without feeling ashamed because he will just try and understand and see the other side of the story! Truthful, honest and straightforward people are the ones to keep around. My best friendships are with these type of people 😊
Amy Miller I feel like I’d rather my friends call me out on my shit...if you can’t be honest with your friends who can you be honest with...he definitely has the best intentions for his friends and wants them to be better. And sometimes you have to call your friend out.
Quality Content. Must of been hard but both of you are showing that conversions are possible and not everything needs to be ‘beef’. Admirable. Can’t wait to see the rest.
Charlee Churchill I completly agree with you! most people have forgotten what A real conversation is, you don't have to sit and shout and see whos winning all the freaking time🙄 the lads did a good job by having a rational conversation👌🏻
do feel a bit of sympathy for Alex here, he's very much still a young guy, which I think most people are forgetting in this situation. Either way, this will surely be a good learning experience for him
@@notsusoranythingbut3822 and JoJo 33, to be fair to Charles, when he made this comment Imalexx wasn't *not apologizing for or acknowledging that he made incredibly slanderous remarks while simultaneously stabbing a friend in the back* yet, he just mostly had kissed alfie's ass and lost some credibility... so 3 months ago Charles had no way of knowing the future...
@@notsusoranythingbut3822 babes, it's still different from actually being older, cause you'll just have had the time to experience more and your brain will have developed more. I will say tho, that some older people act like babies cause they havent learned to reflect. But still, those people can be more mature in other areas.
I like both of you, I enjoy both channels and I was a little gutted when the "fight" happened. I think it's great you've sat down together, cleared the air and hopefully you're still friends at least. I'd love Alex to come back to the podcast too 🤞
yeah i felt the exact same. i was so worried that nothing would get resolved and i was very disappointed at the thought of alex not ever returning to the happy hour podcast.
I really respect Alex for being able to say “hey, I fucked up a lot.” And admit where he went wrong, but not “bottling it” as jack said lol. Like he knew things could’ve been handled better & admitted his faults, but he explained where he was coming from & stuck by what he thought at the moment. I really hope he takes care of himself before going back to UA-cam. Mad props to jack as well for never shying away from confrontation, and handling this situation so well. He’s upfront about everything and definitely isn’t a 🐍 Truly do respect both of them.
Imagine how much better the world we live in would be if people who disagreed sat down and resolved things like this- the world would actually be a better place
massive respect for this mature reconciliation. i can see Alex has good intentions and a good heart but i don't think he's mentally well enough to sustain healthy friendships and relationships at the moment - he seems easily manipulated by everyone around him.
I agree, Alex recently did a collab with someone (idk who he is or if he's even a UA-camr,) titled the weirdest couple, and the other guy was very cruel and harsh towards the couple, it was kinda disappointing to see Alex go along with the guys, I've never seen him be so outright mean like that before. The comments all agreed that Alex just went along with it, being just as mean I adore Alex, but between the way he handled the whole Alfie situation and that it's obvious that he can be a bit of a follower. I want to add that I watched another xollab with Alex and Atozy and at 1 point he said "I'm not being mean for the sake of being mean." Which was 1 of the biggest wants about the bad collab. So atleast (to me) it seems that he genuinely tries to grow and learn from his mistakes.
Wow I didn't know he was 20... that's younger than me.. I will admit I did find it hard to stand my ground at 20. Respect to Alex for working in the public eye at such a young age though.. it definitely comes with its controversies!
I don’t know why I’m such an emotional wreck haha but I almost cried. I really feel for you both and I’m really happy you could work things out. Alex, please get some help with your mental health. It’s so important. I’m in therapy and it helped me so much I can’t even tell you. You deserve to be able to cope better with everything. You’re such a likeable awesome guy. Also jack has shown a really great side of his here. You can see you care about Alex and you are a good friend. You both can be proud of yourselves because it’s not easy to be so open and honest about everything. So really really well done!
It's like seeing mom and dad have a big fight. get divorced. beef in public. talk about it like adults. get married again. this is so mature. you two have such a healthy relationship. pls be best friends again.
Bryan would destroy him this time around, he was very very nice to him on the TG podcast. Alfies had zero repsonse to Bryans criticism on Alfies lack of actual content. He just acted as if he's interesting enough to just post pathetic shit vlogs that nobody over the age of 11 would enjoy. The truth is, Alfie knows that he's a useless talentless prick with not a single creative cell in his brain, and he knows the only people he could entertain is children, but he skated around that fact for an hour
IAmRedherrings i actually thought alfie was good on tg’s podcast. i liked that epsiode a lot as it showed alfie’s thinking and how he is as a real man in everyday life. left it liking him in fact. (as a person, not a fan of his content purely because it’s not aimed at me).
True Geordie had Alfie on his channel and much like Alex... he pretty much folded. Lad might look and act tough but wilts like a little flower in the presence of those he's previously called out.
So happy to see 'beef' being sorted out in a respectful and mature way, nothing but praise for the both of you. Hopefully we can see Alex on Happy Hour again at some point!
Man, Alex NEEEEEDS to take a break so badly. Even though I’m not a UA-camr, I relate to his state of mind a lot. It sounds like he just absolutely broke down from all of this stuff going on around him and let it all out in that livestream which unfortunately ended up being aimed at Jack which for viewers on the outside made no sense and lacked all context. The thing is that instead of just crying and screaming in the privacy of his room like I would do, a whole lot of people witnessed it which is not an ideal image to portray to people and something I don’t think any of us would want to show to thousands of people. I think we’re all like that sometimes and honestly I was disappointed with how he conducted himself in the livestream but I was totally and utterly in understanding with him. I really just want him to take a long break, visit his family or friends or something or just go on a fucking holiday. I don’t want him to end up in a bad state that will be hard to come back from because I can see him teetering on the edge right now even in his normal videos. I really like him because he is flawed (like every human being) but unlike a lot of people, absolutely knows so and you can tell he tries his best to be better. Anyway, I don’t really care about any of this drama right now, I just want him to take a step back and clear his thoughts. It’s obvious he’s confused about what he is feeling and thinking and the people and environment around him with constant polarising opinions aren’t helping. It’s NEVER good to be this absorbed in your work to the point of not being able to make sense of anything anymore. PLEASE ALEX TAKE A FUCKING BREAK 💕
not sure how alex can sit there and listen to his friends talk shit on Jack when Jack is legit the most honest person he must of come across. Like seriously he is sitting down and sorting shit out but Alex is saying that all his friend's have been whispering in his ear. They aren't friends mate. Friends don't talk shit on your other friends to alienate you from them.
1. Jack is a pretty sound lad. 2. This was done the right way and more youtubers need to do this more, over the months of slagging on twitter and digs on videos. 3. Alex sounds tired and he needs a break.
Well... From what I've seen... I'malexx when on a podcast with Alfie deyes and inabber and I'malexx was questioned on why he talked shit about Alfie... I'malexx bottled it and played friendly with him and kind of got a bit too scared to express how he really feels. So JaackMaate made a video expressing his opinions on the podcast and on what I'malexx said. I'malexx made a live stream responding to it. They of course had a falling out over this. And now they are trying to resolve it and be friends again.
desmond_craddock _ I mean it’s what jack does and what Alex does himself. So for Alex to get annoyed was just a bit uncalled for and just made him look like a hypocrite.
In any relationship (friendship or otherwise) you can’t let things bottle up. Alex was bottling up all these minor things that he was irritated with jack about. Then jack makes a reasonable critique and he exploded. That happens a lot. Don’t let small problems become big ones. Work things out as they come along. It’s uncomfortable but necessary. By the way I’m not saying Alex bottles things up as an insult. It’s human nature to want to avoid conflict but as long as you do it in a constructive way. I do understand though if you’ve been burned before you just shut down but as he himself said he needs to work on it. It’s gonna make relationships in the future harder for him.
@@awal4896 This is so true. I unfortunately ended up falling out with someone partly because they kept everything bottled up and didn't tell us that they were upset until it all built up and came out at once, and by that point they were so affected by it that they couldn't move past it even after we tried to resolve things. It's important to talk about things as and when they happen. People can't be mind readers and you have to explain when you're upset.
If you watch the original debate with Alfie, Alex and Fraser (I’m not great with names sorry, hope that’s right lol), Alfie has deleted any negative comments? Even those which are remotely mildly critical? Think it says it all about him. Complete control freak.
Olivia MUA that’s what i noticed. 10k dislikes and yet every comment agrees with alfie, just makes him look pathetic. further proved how sheltered he is from any sort of criticism
Everyone in the comments saying the problem was Alfie and I know that is one of the problems but the thing I’m worried about more is the way alex speaks about his mates and that, seem like very toxic people that aren’t good for him
Obviously I haven't spent 1h 47m watching this yet but from the intro I can tell how you have approached this with maturity and honesty. Good on you mate, and to Alex too.
I really love them both a lot. And as May 2020 I’m really really glad that they’re good friends now. I feel like Alex was really in a bad place at this point in time :(
What i learnt is Alex should never have been the one to go on the Podcast with Alfie, i mean jack is the main one who calls alfie and other youtubers out for their wrongdoings. Weird that alfie chose Alex instead... seems like he’s bit scared of jack. Alfie’s reasoning for not having jack on was he blocked him but he easily could’ve contacted him some other way.
Sophie C exactly also Alex is like really young and probably hasn’t been in a situation like that. It was a really odd choice to have Alex on it not jack.
Apparently, Alfie only invited Fraser (iNabber, the other male on the Alfie podcast), but Fraser wanted to bring someone he knew along to feel more comfortable. Of course, Jack should've been there in place of both of them, but just to clarify Alex wasn't even meant to be there originally.
Alex needs a break . I'm older than both of you ..together . Alex , I have to tell you that Alfie was manipulating you , he is a naive guy with a big ego ,always been sheltered with money as soon as he became a young adult . And he thinks that his point of view should be the point of view of all British You Tuber , but time passed , what Alfie used to do wouldn't work today , and I really think if he wasn't with Zoe as a power couple , he would be a dead channel .
I can relate so much to Alex's personality. When you accumulate so many shitty experiences with trusting people, it pushes you to create a bubble that (on top of isolating you it also) makes you forget how to even communicate with certain people who might actually be decent and cool to talk to.
I have that and which is why I always just keep my opinions to myself. Why’d you agree to go into the podcast in the first place if you know you cannot handle it?
@@sophie615 I think that he didn't realise that Alfie Deyes would be targeting him so much, the initial plan was for fraser to talk to him initially and Alex just joined as a moderator becayse he was only Alfie attacked him
This was a really productive conversation. It's so unfortunate that some miscommunication escalated into this "beef" that was blown out of proportion, but I'm glad you seem to have sorted it now. And it honestly broke my heart a little bit when Alex said Happy Hour was a rare place on UA-cam where he could truly just relax and enjoy himself for the hour. I really hope he comes onto future episodes of the podcast.
Im only 15 minutes in but im glad you guys are talking and working this stuff out. It sucks bc friends always have fights but yall are so in the public eye that it changes the way things go down
The views are down because alex is gone. I’m not saying he needs to come back, but the podcast worked because Alex was very knowledgeable about UA-cam, whereas Stevie was the complete beginner, and Jack is the old timer whose quite removed from the wider community. The differences between the three of you created really interesting discussions. It doesn’t work as well with one of you missing.
As much as I would like that Alex is the one who pushes everyone away. He could've come back after this but look what he even did to his own podcast with James. The guy ruins his relationships with everyone.
@@JR28. he probably just has some type of trauma or just struggles with severe deppression. im sure he doesnt mean to push ppl away but it happend to most of us when stuck in a low. your saying it like its his fault, which it isnt. im sure he ahtes himself for it but its his depressions fault, not his.
I relate so much with speaking to people on social media and panicking over what the undertones of a simple text could be (Even though there's most likely nothing there) Only half way through, but wanted to comment and say I hope it all turns out alright for him
I love how in the very beginning, when Jack talked about not cutting things out to make himself look better, it felt like a jab at Alfie’s editing of his video, IMO; all the other debate and issues aside. I’mAlexx and iNabber are much nicer than Jack, leaving the team incomplete during that video. Alfie played on that. Jack definitely should have been there. Alfie also definitely edited the video to make himself look as good as possible. It should not have been on his channel. So glad to see these two talking things out like adults. Such a huge contrast to how Alfie acted.
I feel like this is a really important look into communication between friends especially when mental illness is involved. Anxiety so often gets misinterpreted as rudeness or lack of caring when that’s so far from the truth
Sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy on Alex's side. He thought he would be kicked to the curb and it almost happened. Mate those kind of thoughts don't lead to good places.
@@mica8701 It can help some people. You don't know that everything like this that's said to people like that doesn't help. I've had some people who say that it means a lot to them.
This was a mature conversation between two great guys. I think they have great chemistry on their podcasts, hoping they get back into it together. Alfie is such a gutless human😂.
These two guys could have been great together but Alex should never trust Jack to not stab him to make himself look better. Alex is a kid. Jack is so much older.
This is literally the first time I've been able to watch this video, nearly a year after the drama happened. I hate conflict so much, even when it's people I've never met arguing - but I've been dying to watch this and find out what actually happened - so I'm finally going to just brace myself and watch it. Only a year late.
From the outside looking in, Alex overreacted in my opinion but I understand that people deal with issues they're sensitive to in different ways. Maybe he was just having a bad day? Nevertheless, I sustain that Jack's response to Alex in Alfie's video was well thought out and justified. It's impressive how Jack always strives to be mature, especially enough to sit down and address the "beef".
@@priv1436 As I explained it's my opinion and I understand people react to different things in different ways. I'm not saying he's wrong, just that I personally saw his response as an overreaction. Plus I stopped listening after 18 minutes once he was done explaining his reaction, so who knows, maybe I'll retract what I say if I go back and watch the rest.
Ocean Waves and im allowed to give my opinion on that. and you’ve managed to find a problem with me giving my opinion/making a sarcastic comment. hmm 🤔
@@priv1436 I'm not being sarcastic. If anything I find it funny that you have pedantic undertones in your comments towards me. You're clearly trying to pick a fight with me and I'm really not that bothered! Have a nice day :-)
Joe Baker I respect the profile picture because I’m a KP nut too lol xfm is lit. I mean there wasn’t anything for Alex to be upset about in jacks video because he spoke facts
Alfie 100% set up Alex. If he was smart he should've contacted Jack straight away and created a game plan. Alfie knew he wouldn't because that's Alex. Why any of this "beef" occurred is beyond me. Should've simply been handled by a damn phone call. Been a sub of Jack for years & have seen Alex around since he first started. This is not the first public friendship drama that has blown up in Alex's face and won't be the last.
@GraffitiTurtle It's called a rhetorical question. Please take note the lack of a question mark at the end of the sentence specifically to enhance the nature of its intent.
As much as I love Alex and I really emphasise with his anxiety, I don’t agree with his Stance here, I think jack has it got right, Alfie is completely out of touch and you cannot argue that. Alex should have defended the commentary community.
Yep. i just didn't get it - him wanting to criticise the community that HE is part of. It just doesn't make sense and he had to expect to be called out for it.
Took three days but eventually watched the whole two hours and i loved every minute of honest, assertive conversation while still managing to be decent people and keep it chill. Friends/people like these are hard to come by, so happy ye worked it out!
gnislia nah because he can sit and chat with someone like this and resolve things like adults, so the problem is people who won’t ait and chat like this
Alexx really needs to go to a therapist and sort his issues out. I understand fully his situation as i also suffer from anxiety disorder but it really does help, talking to an expert and facing your demons. Because Alex looks like he is losing it right now. 12:50 - communicational breakdown, tbf like alexx i too have a tendency not saying no because i dont want to let ppl down and that in turn have left a lot of my friends reacted the same way jaack did which was “yea you dont want to put any effort in”. Nigahiga’s podcast episode with his gf, Arden Cho, also brought this issue up recently.
i would pay to see alfie and jack face to face. cause to be fair alfie knew that jack made videos with valid points on why alfie was being a twat in his videos, but he knows that if he invited jack to talk along with alex and fraser, jack would absolutely crush alfie.
What I've come to realize is that Alex isn't the best with head-on confrontation. He's more likely to bend than to stick to his guns. Which is, in my opinion, 110% why Alfie chose him to be on that video rather than Jack, who will stick to his guns and not bend. Not saying Alex is wrong, but in this situation I do believe he handled it to the best that *HE* could. He, from my view, doesn't handle head-on conflict the best (as I said above), so in a way i feel bad for him. But, at the same time, not. I am glad for these two to publicly sort through things, since they publicly had conflict. It shows immense maturity and depth. Well done lads. EDIT: An example to clarify, If someone had cheated Jack and Alex, Alex is more the type to go "Well that sucks, but oh well." and Jack is more the type to go "No, you cheated me, and you need to make that right." Obviously this is just from my point of view from the various ways I've seen both interact online. It's obviously not a true *in-depth* POV, since I actually don't know them :) Edit 2: As I keep watching, and not just listening, another telling sign is that Jack is maintaining eye/body contact, whereas Alex is rarely looking at Jack, and is more looking past him. Which shows that he does feel bad, and a bit sheepish. He knows it wasn't the best, and he's still (from what I can see, and I could be wrong) upset about it.
i have the exact same anxiety about messages that alex has. i had to disable email on my phone because every time i'd get an email, i'd go into a panic.
Sorry Alex came across like he lives his life by other people when jack gave reasons to his criticism of Alex would say other people said this other people want me to do this. Alex is suffering from massive insecurities he more worried about what people think of him instead of just being himself
It’s not anxiety. I have severe anxiety stemming from OCD, PTSD, and cPTSD.... I realized as I got older that the part that obsesses about what others think is primarily youth. You may roll your eyes but remember I said that. Jack is 30. Alex is a kid. Isn’t he like 22? Jesus Christ from like 15-25 you are ALL CONSUMED with what others think. And even if you think you’re not, then you’re probably obsessed with that... with acting like you don’t care... which again stems back to what you want others to think about you. That fades with age, unless maybe if you had legitimate social anxiety but that is more complex than worrying about what others think. I’m obviously not saying he doesn’t have anxiety, and I have the panic over messages as part of my PTSD also, but still... it is more revolved around what others need and want and are thinking about him because he is so young. And I’d say honestly 85% of young people think they’re “anxious” what others think when in reality it’s a normal part of life that almost everyone goes through in young adulthood. OBVIOUSLY you’re unsure of yourself when you’re becoming an adult. Again I’m not saying anxiety isn’t real lol I literally am diagnosed with like four mental illnesses LOL.... just saying Jacks been an adult nearly a full decade longer than Alex is all I’m saying, which at their ages, means a lot. Beyond that, it’s a personality trait.... like... think of it this way... are you cold blooded or warm blooded? Warm blooded warms themself, regulates themselves and keeps themself alive. Cold blooded is affected by the world around them.... their body regulates depending on what they see, feel, touch. Obviously that’s a metaphor. Mental illness or not, some people need others around them to think they’re good, or cool, or beautiful,.. or else they simply won’t see it. Like Kylie Jenner. Others are confident from within and care most about their own morals.
@@speeeee35 i didnt read all of that lol but from what i did i think everyone does suffer from the fear of being judged but he has anxiety so it makes it 10x worse
If it doesn't make sense for me to keep subscribed and I'm unlikely to watch the channel again, there's not much point for me to stay subscribed really.
I’m still subscribed to charlieissocoollike he was like my first subscription. Not watched him since I was 13 and that was 13 years ago 😂 I’ve not got time to look through the hundreds of subscriptions 😂
Yuki Shyme Lmao I’m not even gonna front. I watched the 1st 30 minutes then commented. Then skipped to the last 15 minutes and edited my comment to reflect the ending when I finished. I don’t have the bandwidth to sit down and watch the whole thing, but nonetheless found what they did very admirable, mature, and sweet.
The amount of people saying this is just them fondling each other clearly have never had an adult conversation. It's not supposed to be shouting, punching, and grunting. Agree with one, both, or neither side, this is two people talking their way out of an argument-how it should be.
I always knew at this point that he was the problem within his friendships and relationships whenever he would cry victim when he’d lose friends and claim he didn’t do anything wrong. Abuser.
Honestly I think Alex is having a tough time with his mental health recently. As someone with anxiety too I've spotted the signs in his latest few videos. I thought jacks video wasn't ill intentioned but when someone's anxiety gets particularly bad, a big symptom is reading into everything and that's what Alex understandably did. Also, I think Alex has been done wrong by people and he saw this as a similar situation. I truly empathise with him. I love Alex but objectively I understand how he felt and why. I love jack aswell and I'm so glad that they both have the maturity to sit down and talk things out, it really shines light on their strength of character. I really hope Alex takes some time away from UA-cam if that's what he needs to work on himself and show himself some love as he really deserves it. Love you both 💞
A lot of the behaviour that Alex explains reminds me of myself & my behaviour that results from my clinical depression & anxiety. Luckily, I've been in therapy for over a year now, trying to work on those things. I've gotten a bit better for sure, therapy has helped. But even after over a year of intensive therapy & medication I'm _still_ struggling with those things (avoiding texts/messages, messy house, etc.)
Yeah i don't think its any of those guys the way they were framing it. Its definitely another group of youtube friends that Alex has but I cant figure it out
Already listened to it yesterday, so glad to see you guys sit down and handle this maturely. I can see where both of you were coming from, this whole situation shows the importance of communicating well.
I'm glad it's all been sorted and that they're now friends. They talked calmly, they sorted out their issues, they addressed everything, and now we might have Allexx back on the podcast now, which is great! Just being upfront has always helped these sorts of things and makes sure they aren't repeated again.
I'm not fully through the video, and likely won't end up watching the whole thing because, honestly, I don't care about their fight. However, from what I'm hearing from Alex and what I saw in the Alfie video, I think I get what's wrong here. Alex says he gets anxious that messages will be bad, he doesn't like social media due to bad things happening, he avoids conflict by avoiding telling people no...and in the Alfie video he veered hard away from owning what he'd said. Alex isn't confident and mature enough to confront his issues head-on and just be upfront with people, friends or no. He uses his platform to express himself, because that's a voice into the ether, no one's there to directly push back against him. Jack is more confident, not shy about his opinions or afraid to be proven wrong, or admit when he is. He has dealt with a lot of shit in his life and overcome it, and he probably views Alex as a bit immature. Which he is. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you're willing to recognize that it's not everyone else that's the problem. You have to own your flaws and accept that you make shit harder on yourself and the real, true friends will stick with you through your growth. But the key is that ownership, even when you fuck up, a real friend will accept your apology and understand...but you have to TRY. Maybe Alex isn't there yet, though this right here is a good start...he fucked up, and Jack didn't just walk away...he didn't give up, and now they're working their shit out constructively. Alex, you'll get there and friends like Jack will really help you do it, as long as you don't stop recognizing the ways in which you are your own worst enemy.
I remember the Christmas podcast was basically everyone taking the mick out of Alex a bit so I am ngl I do feel a bit sorry for him bless him. He has a good heart and I think Jack does too. Good on you both for talking it out guys :)
I love Jack but I feel so sad for Alex in this video. It seems like Alex, who's already mentally in a bad place, has had to spend at least two hours defending himself which has resulted in him blaming himself for everything that's gone wrong recently, it's sad to watch him take on all the blame and grovel like that.
@@philstrachan alex isn't a kid though is he. Shittest excuse ever. Not yo mention the fact that alex actively calls out so many people younger than him for a loving...
honestly everyone needs a friend like jack, someone who tells you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear
Sarah Presley if I were a youtuber I’d NEED a friend like Jack to give me honest feedback! The amount of youtubers surrounded by “yes men” would keep anyone out of the loop
sarah yeah but not in public - I’d much rather they told me directly and didn’t talk about stuff I’d done wrong to hundreds of thousands of people who will go on to (oftentimes) hold a swayed view and support purely that side of it without consideration for a larger picture - alongside insulting ‘me’
Publicly isn't the way, though.

Yeah it was a great conversation, listened on spotify, such a shame it turned out this way but miscommunication can be a bitch.
JaackMaate glad you two made up cos your my fav youtubers aswell as Willne and Steven Tries 😂❤️❤️
Or with WillNe.
Bit of a nonce this guy tbh
@@nura319 Touchdalight is an asshole anyway, so why would you even wanna be a friend with him?
He's scared he'll be destroyed. Because he would be.
Yeah I agree , unlike Alfie who invited Alex and Frasier on his podcasts to purely bully and try to intimidate them.
err he posted a viral video criticising his friend, which seems pretty standard youtube dickhead to me. should only be praising him if he took alex to the side privately and talked properly first, being his f r i e n d n everything. idk.
That Alfie video was poor. He kept inturupting, was far too defensive and didn't let Alex or Fraiser really speak and explain. He can't take any criticisms.
Alex was too busy agreeing with Alfie to explain anything!!
Alex was intimidated, but he kept interrupting Fraser when he tried to argue.

Completely agree

Obviously I haven't spent 1h 47m watching this yet but from the intro I can tell how you have approached this with maturity and honesty. Good on you mate, and to Alex too.
I like how Jack allowed Alex to express his views on his [Jack’s] podcast channel
I love the way you avoided using "he" and "him" in your comment, more people need to write like that 😂

He’s a lot more relaxed on this podcast than Alfie’s. Alfie’s was so uncomfortable to watch.
Jack is so good at making great points. Very articulate.
Just wanted to know where does Alfie say that's the reason? Would love it Alfie and Jack go head to head maybe even TG
Gauri he didn’t say it anywhere he jus said it to Alex privately
Apparently, Alfie only invited Fraser (iNabber, the other male on the Alfie podcast), but Fraser wanted to bring someone he knew along to feel more comfortable. Of course, Jack should've been there in place of both of them, but just to clarify Alex wasn't even meant to be there originally.
Paige Ishimaru Sakakura Toujo still tho why iNabber? Jack is the main one he should’ve brought on
Alex needs a break . I'm older than both of you ..together . Alex , I have to tell you that Alfie was manipulating you , he is a naive guy with a big ego ,always been sheltered with money as soon as he became a young adult . And he thinks that his point of view should be the point of view of all British You Tuber , but time passed , what Alfie used to do wouldn't work today , and I really think if he wasn't with Zoe as a power couple , he would be a dead channel .
...AAANNNnnnnndddd now we all know that Alex was likely the cause of everything.
What i learnt from this is that Alex really needs to learn what a friend really is.

I can relate so much to Alex's personality. When you accumulate so many shitty experiences with trusting people, it pushes you to create a bubble that (on top of isolating you it also) makes you forget how to even communicate with certain people who might actually be decent and cool to talk to.
@@lukemyszka9292 50:50 can you *sympathise* with those voices?
I understand too. I've had anxiety and depression for 20yrs. It really messes with your outlook and ability to communicate at times.
Julia -bai2- same. I think the people bashing him just can’t relate to those situations.
It sucks bc friends always have fights but yall are so in the public eye that it changes the way things go down
1:47:35 “are we friends?” “Yes boss”
The things good communication can do. If all “UA-cam drama” could be solved this way it would be so much easier
I'm glad the two faced liar is away!!
As much as I would like that Alex is the one who pushes everyone away. He could've come back after this but look what he even did to his own podcast with James. The guy ruins his relationships with everyone.

I relate so much with speaking to people on social media and panicking over what the undertones of a simple text could be (Even though there's most likely nothing there)
Only half way through, but wanted to comment and say I hope it all turns out alright for him
I love how in the very beginning, when Jack talked about not cutting things out to make himself look better, it felt like a jab at Alfie’s editing of his video, IMO; all the other debate and issues aside.
*clears throat*
I feel like this is a really important look into communication between friends especially when mental illness is involved. Anxiety so often gets misinterpreted as rudeness or lack of caring when that’s so far from the truth

Did they fall out after this? Why did alex stop being in the podcasts? I also couldn't take the confrontational side of it.
Alfie Charlie they are still friends they just don’t do the podcast together anymore

I relate so hard and I lost so many friends because of this and I’m so sad ahhh
i would pay to see alfie and jack face to face. cause to be fair alfie knew that jack made videos with valid points on why alfie was being a twat in his videos, but he knows that if he invited jack to talk along with alex and fraser, jack would absolutely crush alfie.
I really empathise with Alex on the message front. It actually is quite stressful and does make you pacinicky
EDIT: An example to clarify,
If someone had cheated Jack and Alex, Alex is more the type to go "Well that sucks, but oh well." and Jack is more the type to go "No, you cheated me, and you need to make that right."
Obviously this is just from my point of view from the various ways I've seen both interact online. It's obviously not a true *in-depth* POV, since I actually don't know them :)
Edit 2: As I keep watching, and not just listening, another telling sign is that Jack is maintaining eye/body contact, whereas Alex is rarely looking at Jack, and is more looking past him. Which shows that he does feel bad, and a bit sheepish. He knows it wasn't the best, and he's still (from what I can see, and I could be wrong) upset about it.
100% agree
i have the exact same anxiety about messages that alex has. i had to disable email on my phone because every time i'd get an email, i'd go into a panic.
Sorry Alex came across like he lives his life by other people when jack gave reasons to his criticism of Alex would say other people said this other people want me to do this. Alex is suffering from massive insecurities he more worried about what people think of him instead of just being himself
thats the anxiety mate
@GraffitiTurtle thats the joke
@GraffitiTurtle the original comment is just describing how anxiety would affect a person, if you want to go "duh" at someone, go so at ryan steele

The amount of people saying this is just them fondling each other clearly have never had an adult conversation. It's not supposed to be shouting, punching, and grunting. Agree with one, both, or neither side, this is two people talking their way out of an argument-how it should be.

I'm glad it's all been sorted and that they're now friends. Brittiany Perkins I would never do this with a girl.....
