This game was SO HARD! Me and my late brother would always play it together when I was 8 or 9 years old. He was 7 years older than me, alot better at it, and would always get super pissed when I died and stole his lives lmao. I watched him break a few controllers over this game and Super Metroid. Miss him.
It reminds me of when I was young and playing this game with my father. We played all the Konami classics together. Contra, Super C, Life Force. Really good memories
Holy crap, had no idea you could kill the second boss so quick! Absolutely loved this game as a kid, struggled on hard mode and just had to laugh at how easy this guy made EVERY LEVEL look.
The manual calls the dog enemies "Man-Faced Mutts". Seems like Konami's localizers had a lot of fun in the SNES era -- Legend of the Mystical Ninja and Gradius III come to mind.
Doesn't matter how many times I see a speed run of this game is just amazing. This game gave me nightmares on hard mode during my teenagers years just because I didn't know about the weapon switch trick. If you don't use that the bosses in this game have like millions of health and you have to deal with a lot of annoying attacks.
I beat the game on Normal as a kid but now I can only get to the Sand stage playing now. I've got to try that double crush tactic! Not that I'll be able to keep them long enough to beat the sub boss and boss on stage 3 which sap all my lives!

I loved how he used the L+R pose. Reminded me of when I was a kid and did the same thing because it looked really badass
